  31. //Pirate//
  32. - Design: http://i.imgur.com/v3OQvtt.jpg
  33. - Description: A Warrior class based on the pirate. Sabers, daggers, and rope/grapples are the tools a pirate uses to wage war, but its usable armor is greatly restricted. Similar to the Samurai class, they are front line fighters that use special skills to overcome its low defense. A pirate's sense of balance is nurtured from fighting aboard ships, making them resistant to movement-inhibiting effects, and they can make clever attacks with the use of hooks and rope/grappling hook. There were many players from the North American server, as well as the South American server, that became much friendlier to one another as marine-related quests were added to the American continents' servers.
  34.
  35. //Medicine Man//
  36. - Design: http://i.imgur.com/loEIKdj.jpg
  37. - Description: A Healer class that uses healing and protective spells, they draw power from the various totems spread around the earth. Their unique ability is known as Ghost Walk, which creates a temporary soul body to reduce damage. Furthermore, they can use a greatly expanded version of the Kannagi’s God-Summoning Ceremony as a self-buffing skill. Many skills are related to regional folklore, such as the Sacred Eagle totem, making them popular on video sharing sites.
  38.
  39. ==Area of Interest==
  40. - (Wisconsin: Chekuwamegon National Forest), an area of large forests near the Great Lakes. Ruled by a surly false god named Naka (Lava Dragon of Wen) who takes his origins from Cthulhu mythology.
  41.
  42. - Black Hills (South Dakota: Mount Rushmore National Memorial Park), a sacred place for the indigenous people. The region has yet to be recaptured from the army or subhumans now occupying the land, but native landers are doing their best to rally a force to take back the area. In addition, there is said to be a huge vein of gold in this land.
  43.
  44. - Dragonette Colony (Arizona: Grand Canyon National Park) one of the highest level zones, one of the earliest in Elder Tale, and was the original setting for the Reign of the Heavenly Dragon content.
  45. The area is inhabited entirely by dragon species and wyverns. The species that can be found in the region changes with the seasons.
  46.
  47. - Ataruva U.S.,the company that created Elder Tale, is based in Los Angeles. Because of this the in-game city of South Angel has a statue of god where their building would be located, called the Monument of the Covenant.
  48. The statue has become a huge joke to players around the world, and a popular spot for American players to meet up.
  49.
  50. - Jade Pearl Labyrinth, main headquarters for the 13 Orders of Knights located northeast of South Angels.
  51.
  52. - Star Tower aka Devils Tower, a huge rock famous for being in a certain movie. Bringing a small clay copy of the tower used to trigger a small event before the Catastrophe. Now rumors have spread of a mysterious object hovering above the tower.
  53.
  54. ==Guilds==
  55. - Morning Star is the American cavalry subclass guild that is most like the Round Table. They're doing their best to establish social stability and security, using the Wild West as their ideal.
  56.
  57. - 49erS are an international guild made up of North American and Western European adventurers.
  58.
  59. - Heart to Heart is a guild made up of kids with heart disease in a special treatment facility. After the Catastrophe, the staff member watching over the kids went missing after jumping through the Fairy Rings.
  60.
  61. - The Family is a mafia-style guild that placed Big Apple under their control (post-6/01 riots) and severely punishes traitors.
  62.
  63. - Retro America that focuses on collecting die-cast cars (ミニカー). At least, I’m going to assume that it’s die-cast cars instead of microcars, since ミニカー can refer to either one and we know that cars don’t exactly work in Theldesia. Unless this guild just goes around lugging microcars back to their guild hall.
  64.
  65. - Arms Workshop Cuisinart is a production guild named after the “legendary blacksmith Cuisinart” from Wizardry, and is known for its powerful weapons. Although the guild started out as a joke, it turned out that its members were actually good at making weapons.
  66.
  67. - No Tears is basically another spin on the Odyssey Knights. They’re apparently trying to get rid of “death” from this world altogether by doing... something to the revival system.
  68.
  69. - Oz is a large guild fighting for Lander freedom. It’s based on the Wizard of Oz, and all its members have a name that somehow correlate to characters from the book. Parties are also color-coded. They’ve been trying to clear raids with inexperienced raiders in order to give them the power to realize their ideals. Its guild master, “Tornado Witch” Dolly, has been given both praise and criticism for her fiery nature.
  70.
  71. -Tantalus is another international guild connected to the global company Tantalus Group that has acquired large sums of wealth, primarily through the enslavement of both Landers and Adventurers to keep their business ventures strong.
  72.
  73. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  74.
  75. South America
  76.
  77. Run by the Brazilian company SPEEE. The company has previously translated some other English and Korean MMOs into Portuguese.
  78.
  79. ==Cities==
  80. - Distrito Federal (Mexico City)
  81. - El Dorado
  82.
  83. ==Classes==
  84. - Warrior: Guardian, Pirate, Capoerista
  85. - Weapon Attack: Assassin, Swashbuckler, Bard
  86. - Healer: Cleric, Pajé, Medium
  87. - Mage: Sorcerer, Summoner, Enchanter
  88.
  89. //Capoerista//
  90. - Design: http://i.imgur.com/lfaQTny.jpg (outdated comment translation)
  91. - Description: A warrior class that specializes in unarmed combat with a focus on legwork. Uses various 'stances' based on Capoeira and as such can use powerful kicks while standing on their hands or even lying down. They are quite popular on various video sites due to the flashiness of their acrobatic movements, which seem to have been motion captured. While quite difficult to use considering it is a replacement class for Monks and their combo performance is 2 levels lower, they've been adjusted to be more powerful centering around their seemingly iconic footwork.
  92.
  93. //Pajé//
  94. - Design: http://i.imgur.com/3GO1wa4.jpg (outdated comment translation)
  95. - Description: Also known as the Witch Doctor. The Pajé can call forth various Spirits to use as servants, and it is also possible for a Pajé to amplify the effects of recovery spells by combining herbs with their own unique consumables. An overflowing bag of herbs has become synonymous with the Pajé.
  96. The developers in charge of the South American server, SPEEE, used an abundant budget to add a set of secondary graphics and spell effects, purchasable for Pajé equipment, that has colors unlike that of any other server.
  97.
  98. ==Area of Interest==
  99. - Temple of the Ecliptic (Peru), a raid where adventures make their way through a temple containing gold, crystal, exquisite stonework, and an enshrined crystal skull.
  100. Completeing the raid leads adventurers to a field in the sky where gods reside.
  101.
  102. - Nazca Lines (Peru), figures can be grasped by following the different colored earth and mapping your path. Time and events alter what figures might be found at any point.
  103. A player with the Surveyor subclass can follow the paths to gain access to a raid quest.
  104.
  105. - Devil's Triangle (Bermuda Triangle) was a mid-level zone before the Catastrophe. Now a mischievous ancient entity from a previous Catastropher may be emerging.
  106.
  107. - Auyán-tepui "Devil's Table" (Venezuela: Guiana Highlands and Canaima National Park), the top of the mountain is a harsh environment with unstable weather. The surrounding jungle is a high-level field where evil spirits and the Devil Dragon wander.
  108.
  109. - Sarisariñama (Venezuela) is a raid dungeon that has massive sinkholes in the middle of what would be a normal forest. One of the monsters in the sinkhole is called Brain Sipper, after the (real life) local legend of a monster in the sinkholes that eats human flesh.
  110.
  111. - The Marble Cathedral (Patagonia: General Carrera Lake) is not an actual structure but a cave, although it also serves as a Cathedral in the game. (It doesn’t seem to be tied to an Adventurer City, so perhaps it’s a checkpoint for Adventurers.)
  112.
  113. ==Guilds==
  114. (None, aside from international guilds)

  134.
  135. ==Guilds==
  136. - Overquesters - Basically the DTP in guild form. Its founder is from Japan, but the guild travels all over the world and he rarely returns to his home server. That might change after the Catastrophe, though...
  137.
  138. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  139.
  140. Korea
  141.
  142. The only server that is F2P - Bank, guild hall, and increased item capacity are all things you must pay to access. In the cash shop, there are random cosmetic items as well as Summoner summons that can be purchased even while playing other classes. This has made Korea famous for their difference in combat ability.
  143.
  144. ==Cities==
  145. - Hanson (Seoul)
  146.
  147. ==Classes==
  148. - Warrior: Guardian, Hwarang, Monk
  149. - Weapon Attack: Assassin, Swashbuckler, Bard
  150. - Healer: Cleric, Druid, Medium
  151. - Mage: Sorcerer, Summoner, Taoshi
  152.
  153. //Hwarang//
  154. - Design: http://i.imgur.com/TEUpmvC.jpg
  155. - Description: A Warrior class that bears the name of the legendary martial arts group. It especially excels in the use of one-handed blades like the long-bladed ring-pommel sword, Hwangdo, and the uncurved straight sword, Jikdo, and other swords. They cannot equip shields, but mitigate damage very well by parrying. While its taunt skills are potent in drawing hate, their long cooldowns make it hard to manage, so usage as a tank requires a degree of discipline. The beautiful graphics for the Hwarang's exclusive equipment, such as its ornate sheathes and armor which seemingly has jewels embedded in it, have become somewhat famous.
  156.
  157. //Taoshi//
  158. - Design: http://i.imgur.com/SETyrNb.jpg
  159. - Description: A Mage class with the concept that the character attained supernatural powers while on the quest to attain immortality. Freely manipulating fortune, they have great ability to weaken foes and strengthen allies. As they were added with the Legacy of Cendrillon expansion, there are still some older Korean players with North America's Enchanter class (which new players can no longer choose). Thanks to having poured in too much effort into the development of the Hwarang class, making the items and effects for Taoshi more obscure, Taoshi doesn't seem to be a very popular profession.
  160.
  161. ==Area of Interest==
  162. - Split into three kingdoms.
  163. - Players learned how to cook from Japanese adventurers.
  164. - Unfortunately there is a massive shortage of materials and ingredients in the server. Some players have turned to stealing food from landers, while others are monopolizing the fish market due to a lack of the proper subclass.

  182. - Healer: Cleric, Druid, Medium
  183. - Mage: Daoshi, Summoner, Enchanter
  184.
  185. //Youxia//
  186. - Design: http://i.imgur.com/SOaQ7sV.jpg
  187. - Description: A Warrior class that has been carefully trained to use martial arts for the good of others. Like the Samurai, there are weapon limitations, but they still have a wide variety of weapons at their disposal, like jian (swords), dao (knives), qiang, axes, and pikes. Because of how unique the stances and skills look in motion, some people say that the Youxia feel like they're from an entirely different game. There are many fans of this class because of the wide variety of usable equipment. Because the Chinese server implemented a system allowing high ranking players to register titles, large numbers of players travel from outside of China to compete.
  188.
  189. //Daoshi//
  190. - Design: http://i.imgur.com/Am2FQ9R.jpg
  191. - Description: An offensive Mage class that is versed in the power of nature. Analogous to the Sorcerer, the class excels at defeating enemies by freely manipulating the elemental forces of fire and lighting, ice and snow. The long cooldown times for their skills weaken them, so to compensate for that, a type of exclusive item system called the [Precious Tool] was developed. Because Precious Tools significantly increase skill effects, Daoshi challenge large-scale battles in search of various Precious Tools. A combat-oriented Daoshi equipped with Precious Tools will be adorned in gorgeous handcrafted visual effects.
  192.
  193. ==Area of Interest==
  194. - Waste District Tekeli (Kazakhstan), an ancient city located in the southern regions of what used to be Kazakhstan. Region is now populated by monsters, leading to many large-scale battle events held by Mizukagami (The Water Mirror) in the surrounding area and the bell tower at the center of Tekeli. Adventures must make their way unnoticed through ruins in order to gain access to the secure temple.

  206.
  207. - Dadon (Shanghai), a city that has descended into chaos and is steadily worsening.
  208. Three guild haves tried claiming the great city as their own, but they are locked in a stalemate. Each of three guilds currently occupies important facilities around the city.

  260.
  261. ==Area of Interest==
  262. - Baghdad had an escort quest that required adventurers to guard a ship across the sea for three days. The quest was eventually taken over by Ancient NPCs.
  263.
  264. - White point (Israel), a location where no village or landmark remains. This seems to have done so deliberately.
  265.
  266. - Turkmenistan-Darvaza -

  268. - Oman - Underground cave of Ubaru
  269.
  270. - Lightning Spire (Dubai Tower)
  271.
  272. - Constantina (Istanbul), one of the major players cities for the middle east and the boundary town that leads to Western Europe.
  273. After the Catastrophe Middle Eastern adventurers began to riot, pushing out the European adventurers from their city and back into the Western lands.

  286.
  287. ==Area of Interest==
  288. - Floating Island (Neverland), a floating island that has been repeatedly spotted across all of Western Europe. It has remained a mystery to players for years, though some believe that it is involved in a very difficult quest line.
  289. The island is actually a bug from Neverland content that was shelved after an incident in the NA server.
  290.
  291. - Hole of the Giants (Tartarus), a literal hole into the underworld that randomly moves about the country spitting out one raid level giant after another.
  292.
  293. - Daedalus's Labyrinth (Crete), an ancient labyrinth modeled after the legend of the Minotaur from Greek mythology.
  294. The dungeon is a magnificent royal palace for Prince Asterius, the Minotaur. Because it was designed to confine the prince who became the Minotaur adventures find it impossible to escape the high-level Legion Raid dungeon. The only minimum requirement for escaping the labyrinth is the item "Ariadne's Thread" which returns adventurers to the Great Temple of Athens.
  295. The dungeon is still not widely known in Japan even lthough a message reported that a Japanese group had clear the labyrinth and obtained a Phantasmal-class battle axe. [D.D.D]
  296.
  297. - The Undying Factory (France), a factory that is not completely dead which lies hidden deep in a cave inside a secluded forest.
  298. Ghosts of the old world continue to work the broken production line shouting, "Failure. Yes! Does not meet the quality standards."
  299. Using the materials lying around adventurers must find a way to repair the machinery. Completing the dungeon grants adventurers the factory's finished product as a reward.
  300.
  301. - The Gallant Military State (France): The Lander nation which covers nearly all of France. While the state has a named king to for appearances, the true power lies with a group made up of feudal lords from the surrounding area. In many cases their lands are richer and far more stable than many other regions in the world.
  302. --While Adventurers are centered around the player town known as Via de Fleur, Landers have established their strongholds and towns along the banks of Loire River valley.
  303. --Ever since the Catastrophe many clans have begun using their knights to proudly protect their fiefdoms from the hands of Adventurers.
  304.
  305. - Via de Fleur (Paris) is one of the major player cities in the Western European server whose location corresponds to Paris in the real world. Has a considerable population of Adventurers from when it was merely a game. The city’s transport gate is unable to link with the Nordic server whose regions correspond to the UK and Germany, making it difficult to travel back and forth between the two servers.
  306. Via de Fleur has since yielded it’s position to Seven Hills [Rome] as the most prominent city in the Western European server.
  307. --After the Catastrophe the population has halved as many Adventurers have left to make their way towards Seven Hills [Rome] with a battle guild reenacting their own version of “Beyond the Alps”.
  308. --In the beginning it is common for many French Adventurers choose Via de Fleur as their starting city before joining large-scale guilds and moving to Grand Palace [Brussels].
  309.
  310. - Carpathian Mountains (Romania), an area modeled after Bram Stoker's "Dracula" and the holy land of vampire legends. At the peak lies the impregnable castle known as "Castlevania".
  311. --Rumors say that the high-level kin of darkness who guard Castlevania are ruled by a vampire emperor. Many expeditions have been led by European players, but non have yet to witness the figure known as emperor.
  312. It is said that a new area would be opened up with the release of the "Homesteading the Noosphere" expansion.
  313.
  314. - Mountain of the Sleeping Dragon (Spanish Pyrenees), the gently-sloping mountain range that straddles Spain and France. Due to the difficulty of crossing lander and and adventurers rarely approach. Wild animals, monsters, and a large dragon species have made the mountains their home.
  315.
  316. ==Guilds==
  317. - Straight Panties, guild that only wears panties on the lower half of their bodies. Made up of various races, but mainly werecats.
  318.
  319. - Green Garden: “Rose Knight” Beatrix is the third leader of this prestigious guild that’s been around since Elder Tales was released, putting up with insult after insult.
  320.
  321. - Fang Tribe is led by the uniquely-charismatic White Wolf Princess, who uses the Overskill <Fenrir>. Nothing else is known about this guild.
  322.

  325. Scandinavia
  326.
  327. Run by the UK-based Red Branch Company, it is also the group that designed Elias Hackblade, showing the trust that Atharva Inc. has in them. The area corresponding to Britain in the real world is known here as the Ulster Knight Sword Alliance.

  336. - Garden of Chastity / Fairy Garden Keukenhof (de Hoge Veluwe National Park, Netherlands), the most beautiful field in all of Europe.
  337. The field has many flowers and trees that still remain, and a little stream that has created flower gardens in many places. The gardens have also become the home of fairies and spirits of the departed.
  338. A long quest chain begins for a young girl that has three knights trying to win her affection with gifts. A snow-white sword, a tiara of gold, and a sparkling jewel. In the end the girl chose to turn herself into a tulip to remain pure, becoming the fairy queen in the process. After she has left an Artifact-level reward remains for the adventurer.
  339.
  340. - City of Eternal Diamond (Belgium), a city created from a forest of diamond spires created with nanotechnology from the Old World.
  341. A nearby mine contains diamonds of every color imaginable. There is also a spire that was destroyed by unimaginably powerful weapons. Any debris that remained was carried off as a jewel long ago.
  342. Under the diamond spires an underground dungeon can be found that is in a state of twilight. The holographic logo of a diamond company can be found. It is one of the strongest examples of corporate advertising on the European servers.

  372. - Johannesburg, a lawless city with a near nonexistent safe zone, and rampant PKing taking place.
  373.
  374. - Kartago (Carthage), was the major port for moving between the European and African servers. Immediately after the Catastrophe European adventurers panicked and began to fight the African adventurers in the city. After sometime peace was made and now both parties are working on a way to control the transportation ring so they can return to their home server.

  376. ==Guilds==

  396. - Green & Green, massive international pacifist guild based in Perth. They seem to be the Round Table of the Oceanic server acknowledging that Landers have rights, kicking out anyone that harasses landers or PKs.
  397. --Green & Green is also clearing out monsters so they can work towards finding a way home.
  398. --The guild has developed an Overskill called <Arts Song of Whales> that is capable of communicating across server and potentially around the world.

  402. Guildless Groups:
  403. - Red Dragon Pirates, were said to prey upon the Yamato Sea and Korean Peninsula. They are actually a ragtag group of refugees and outcasts from around the region that go out of their way to help others and establish trade routes. Though what they may be up to at any moment is up to a whim.
  404.
  405. - Roland Village Knights: Local lords abandoned the North American village of Roland to fend for themselves. A dozen adventures decided to stay and protect the town, gaining the title of Knights from local villagers.
  406.
  407. - Black Hand of Justice: Rumored to be a worldwide spy organization and assassination group consisting of Ancients and selected Landers
  408. Formed 240 years ago, they secretly eliminate any unwanted presence for the gods.
  409. Players complained about never finding any traces of the Black Hand, so it is very much a mystery if the group actually exists or not. Though they are likely to have been met by some adventurers...maybe.
