- [2014-02-19 13:39:04] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3Reapers.
- [2014-02-19 13:41:49] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3In some legends, they are otherworldly beings who guide the souls of the dead to their final resting place. In others, they are heartless harvesters of life, drawn to (or perhaps even causing) great tragedies, eager to wet hoof and scythe on the death of the living.
- [2014-02-19 13:43:26] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3They are creatures of night terrors and campfire tales, costumes for Nightmare Night, an warnings for the foolish and small foals.
- [2014-02-19 13:45:50] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3The reapers are real. And they are in this place, Littlehorn Valley. Over half a dozen of them skulk about the Pink-shrouded ruins of Luna's Academy for Young Unicorns. Golden_Dream, with her unusual gift, can see them. And one of them, a reaper who turns its wings into a cloak, has beckoned her into this place.
- [2014-02-19 13:48:03] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3Golden_Dream and her friends have followed, and now find themselves within the ruins of a teacher's recreation building, having found recordings along the way left by a Stable griffin whose corpse they discovered underneath an eerie symbol. But the reaper has moved on, beckoning them deeper into the dead school.
- [2014-02-19 13:49:37] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3As of yet, they cannot fathom it's intention, or desire for them. This sepulcher ruins has already proven deadly, and not one of them has been untouched by the necromantic poisons that plague this place.
- [2014-02-19 13:50:19] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3They have found three recordings so far:
- [2014-02-19 13:50:27] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3(Courtesy of Scorch_Mechanic: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/62984274/tape_1.mp3)
- [2014-02-19 13:50:33] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3---oooOOOooo---
- [2014-02-19 13:50:39] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3(…ungff…) I know I said the last one was the last, but I lied. Need to keep talking. (…huuuuuff…) If I pass out, or fall asleep, I’m dead.
- [2014-02-19 13:50:46] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3Several of the ponies that I’ve met out here have told me that I need to find my virtue if I hope to survive in the wastes of their former homeland. (…unngh…) Well, I don’t know about a virtue, but I have certainly found my vice. (…uuugh…)
- [2014-02-19 13:50:52] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3Envy is one of the oldest sins, but few can grip a heart like it can. What else but such a severe character flaw could bring me to an end in such a horrid place?
- [2014-02-19 13:50:59] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3(…hunnnnn…) I’m beginning to regret not having numbered these. My pack… tore open in the fight last night, and my meager remaining belongings, including the recordings before this, were scattered through the buildings and streets as I fled the abominations that wear the faces of children.
- [2014-02-19 13:51:08] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3(…huggf…huggf…) If they are not devoured by the Pink Mist, whatever damned explorer finds them will be hard put to piece them together in any order. It would make for a poor final struggle. Still (…hnnngh…), I would like to be remembered.
- [2014-02-19 13:51:17] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3My name (…unnnph…) is Bonaparte. I was the chaplain in my Stable – an odd job for a griffin, I know, playing intercessor between the Stable flock and those we believed watched over us. But I was more than naturally adept at the role. Perhaps, if I had been born a pony, it would have been my cutie mark.
- [2014-02-19 13:51:23] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3(…hunff…) …was that? No. (…hunff…) Anyway…
- [2014-02-19 13:51:29] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3…the Wasteland has little regard for chaplains, and the Talons little use for a griffin with no skills in fighting. I had no place here and even less power, forced to rely on the expertise of others to survive.
- [2014-02-19 13:51:36] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3And worse, observing that even should I attempt to master a skill, I could not hope to match those about me – griffins who had been training since childhood, ponies whose talents and inherent magic gave them an entirely unfair edge. (…huuuh... huuuh… huunh…) To be mediocre was the best I could hope for.
- [2014-02-19 13:51:42] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3And I envied them. Enough that I was willing to risk life and feather to come to this accursed place in the vain hope that here I would find a power that could make me their equal. And indeed, I suppose I have. For we are all (…unngh…) equal in the power to parish.
- [2014-02-19 13:51:48] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3---oooOOOooo---
- [2014-02-19 13:52:12] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3(with special thanks to Scorch_Mechanic: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/62984274/tape_2.mp3 )
- [2014-02-19 13:52:19] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3---oooOOOooo---
- [2014-02-19 13:52:24] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3I see dead people.
- [2014-02-19 13:52:29] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3I presume I have always been able to, but that the Stable afforded a dearth of ghosts. I have always felt as if I was somehow connected (in tune, I suppose) with the other side. The supposition certainly facilitated my career in the Stable.
- [2014-02-19 13:52:36] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3Not as useful, I must say, as the not entirely dissimilar ability of some zebras to see into the realm of the spirits. True ghosts are not only exceptionally rare, but the few that can affect anything on this side of the veil are even moreso. And those that can appear severely disinterested in lending their services to the living.
- [2014-02-19 13:52:48] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3So much so that I have questioned whether doing so is taboo for them (although I find it hard to believe that ghosts can even form a culture)… or perhaps dangerous, although that would require there be something that can harm that which is already dead and departed.
- [2014-02-19 13:52:55] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3I finally found a ghost – a little filly in the ruins of a farmhouse along the old zebra incursion line – who was willing to provide an answer to my query. One word: reapers.
- [2014-02-19 13:53:01] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3---oooOOOooo---
- [2014-02-19 13:53:20] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3Again the voice of the griffin speaks from beyond the grave, the memoirs of his past playing in the Pink-soaked ruins of the Littlehorn school. The contents of this one, even more than the others, betray that the group is not finding the recordings in any sort of chronological order, the contents placing him quite a travel distance from here.
- [2014-02-19 13:53:33] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3(And again, thank you Scorch_Mechanic! https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/62984274/tape_3.mp3 )
- [2014-02-19 13:53:38] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3---oooOOOooo---
- [2014-02-19 13:53:52] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3Out of that swamp! At last, the light guides me true! Never again will I step foot or talon into that wretched, cursed place. And take my words to heart, anyone who hears this: neither should you.
- [2014-02-19 13:53:58] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3The name Froggy Bottom Bog does not strike terror as does Splendid Valley or The Everfree Forest, much less the sinister reputation that the Ruins of Canterlot once had. But I am convinced that is only because too few have escaped, and those who did failed to survive long enough to spread the warning.
- [2014-02-19 13:54:04] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3(True, there are those who make frequent passage into the bayou. Do. Not. Trust. Them!)
- [2014-02-19 13:54:12] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3Suffice it to say that feuding tribes of zebra necromancers is far from the only danger to your body and soul that infests the darkest stretch of the Ponytomic. Nor the worst.
- [2014-02-19 13:54:19] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3Still, I leave the swamp with more than I entered (not counting the wounds which will never heal) – the reapers are real! And it is possible to bargain with them.
- [2014-02-19 13:54:27] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3---oooOOOooo---
- [2014-02-19 13:55:10] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3And upon hearing the last two recordings, Shatara has recognized a voice from his childhood. For Bonaparte was the chaplin of his Stable.

- [2014-02-19 13:55:44] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3--- Session Begins ---
- [2014-02-19 13:57:21] * Golden_Dream was going to give the benefit of the doubt to this Boneparte, right up to the point where he straight up insulted her home. Now she's just plain insulted. Which is a shame, she wanted to like him. It felt kinda lonely being the only pony that could see these things, and she kinda sympathized with feeling... Well, inadequate, like you never really were good enough to be where you were, or...
- [2014-02-19 13:57:23] * Golden_Dream ...maybe that's just how she thought ponies thought of her. She furrowed her brow and the fur on her withers seemed to stand up on end. "Screw this guy." She sneered. "Moonwalk's not too bad a place."
- [2014-02-19 13:58:39] * CopyCat winces with every step, her hooves still stinging even after the brief exposure to the pink cloud. She tilts her head after hearing the recording. "Soo... are we supposed to not trust Golden_Dream now?"
- [2014-02-19 13:59:08] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3The dilapidated furnishings, stained pictures and large fireplace suggest that the room was once a rather plush teacher's lounge. One one wall, a Sparkle~Cola machine flickers, it's light dying, casting flashes of light and making the furnishings cast shadows.
- [2014-02-19 14:00:13] * Bookwright "You trust her now, don't you CopyCat? Why should you change your mind based on overbroad generalizations made by a griffin who only passed through? Goldy is fine."
- [2014-02-19 14:00:40] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3Doors lead to a small kitchen and even smaller bathroom, and the stairwell leads up to a gaming loft once bookended by balconies. On one side, the balcony has crumbled and fallen. On the other passage to the balcony goes through a storage room. Bookwright's spell has determined there is something in that room which qualifies as a record.
- [2014-02-19 14:01:26] * Noble_Heart pushed forwards into the storage room, looking up and down the area out of curiosity. She did not wish to clutter the lower level more than it already was, after all. And was curious what might still remain here other than games and toys.
- [2014-02-19 14:02:00] * CopyCat nods. "Okay, trust Goldy. Not some recording we just found. Got it."
- [2014-02-19 14:02:33] * Shatara remains quiet. He didn't know Boneparte very well, but seeing a familiar face in such condition was...disconcerting. His expression of inadequacy rang rather true as well.
- [2014-02-19 14:02:52] * Bookwright smiles at Golden_Dream. "You're too nice to be anything like what that dead griffin says."
- [2014-02-19 14:03:03] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3Upon further inspection, the upper room also contains a dartboard, a little mini-fridge and a couple lockboxes.
- [2014-02-19 14:05:18] * Golden_Dream felt the fur on the back of her withers lay down. CopyCat's words hurt, that she would trust a recording of a dead griffon over alive her. She gave an awkward chuckle at Bookwright, trying to avoid eye contact with anyone. "... Yeah." She muttered, looking grave.
- [2014-02-19 14:05:28] * Bookwright "My spell found something interesting in this room up here." He treads carefully up the stairs and pokes his nose into the storage room.
- [2014-02-19 14:06:06] * Golden_Dream rolls up the stairs, trying to not fall back down. She did so a couple of times.
- [2014-02-19 14:06:36] * Noble_Heart gestures towards the lockboxes. "We have found some things which may have valuables inside." She went to check the mini-fridge as lockpicking was not really her thing.
- [2014-02-19 14:08:56] * Shatara sits in the cornerout of the way, mostly useless with nothing to shoot at.
- [2014-02-19 14:09:56] * CopyCat tries to assist by bumping Golden_Dream up the stairs.
- [2014-02-19 14:14:56] * Golden_Dream snaps back and barely contained herself from chewing CopyCat out. She grit her teeth. "Ah'm fine." She muttered. "Ah can' get up on m' own."
- [2014-02-19 14:23:31] * CopyCat steps back ands starts to reply when she suddenly senses Golden's brief, justified, flash of anger. "I... oh. I'm sorry. I didn't mean it, what I said."
- [2014-02-19 14:24:11] * Noble_Heart looks up from the mini-fridge in the direction of Golden Dream's complaints. She steps out of the storage room. "You should not take what the griffon said personally. It is doubtful that he met many of the swamp's friendlier residents. And you have yourself described the dangers and fears associated with the zebras and their reapers. Is it a surprise he was left with a bad
- [2014-02-19 14:24:11] * Noble_Heart feeling about its contents?"
- [2014-02-19 14:24:57] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3The mini-fridge is full of Good Pony beer.
- [2014-02-19 14:27:00] * Bookwright wobbles further into the storage room, aiming for the spot lit up by his spell.
- [2014-02-19 14:28:15] * Noble_Heart did not, in fact, drink. "Does anyone like beer? We appear to have an excess. Though We have little interest."
- [2014-02-19 14:29:36] * Bookwright calls out, oddly muffled by the shield spell. "I like beer!"
- [2014-02-19 14:30:20] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3Thirteen bottles of "Good Pony's Finest" are in the still-chilled fridge. Meanwhile, Bookwright's spell leads him to the gaming shelves, where he finds a box with several decks of cards, chips, a cribbage board and a notepad where the teachers kept score during weekly poker and cribbage matches.
- [2014-02-19 14:31:02] * Golden_Dream opened her mouth, then closed it. Yeah, she's right. She wouldn't say anything like that without being facetious, she's not /that/ gullible. She's your friend. "... Yeah, I know." She rubs her head, ruffling her mane. "Sorry. This place is jus' getting t' me."
- [2014-02-19 14:33:15] * Bookwright is only slightly disappointed he didn't turn up anything more interesting than weekly scores. "Hmm... I wonder if they played poker with real money." He gives the storage room a good searching.
- [2014-02-19 14:36:07] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3(Apparently, a teacher named Cheerilee was the running champion at cribbage. The poker games had two ponies who stood out from the others, Clean Sweep and Minerva. Apparently, the poker games were played for come sort of currency, based on the "owes" note next to a few names -- he amounts are all in single or double digits, and not marked with bit symbols.
- [2014-02-19 14:36:10] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3)
- [2014-02-19 14:36:56] * CopyCat nods slowly. "There is a great deal of sadness here. It is hard to hear you all over the noise, and I say silly things if I have to think for myself." A full ten seconds after Noble_Heart's announcement she blinks at Golden_Dream. "Beer... do we like beer?"
- [2014-02-19 14:37:30] * Golden_Dream looks skeptical. "Is it old enough t' get skunky?"
- [2014-02-19 14:38:19] * Noble_Heart ruffled her wings slightly. "We would imagine so. It has been in this refrigerator likely for the past two centuries. It is doubtful that anyone has been around to replace it." She frowned. "Someone who can pick locks without their hooves should look into opening these boxes."
- [2014-02-19 14:39:31] * Golden_Dream brushes it off. "Then I'd wait until I c'n get some hooves on some hopps n' wheat t' ferment. Stuff like that's easier t' sell, anyway."
- [2014-02-19 14:48:40] * CopyCat smiles through her shield. "I haven't gotten to try any of your special brews, Golden_Dream. I would really like to."
- [2014-02-19 14:53:34] * Golden_Dream shrugs, looking more neutral than last. "Yeah, it's been a while. Probably can't really do much on th' trail like this that's alcoholic for all we move around. It's bad fer th' fermentation process." She thinks. "Y'no, I hope we run int' some elderberries. I know how t' make some wine that'll cure what ail's y'." She snickers, breaking the gloom she was in previously. "I used t' say that...
- [2014-02-19 14:53:36] * Golden_Dream ...it'll fix anything from a common cold t' a broken heart for a pitch. Prolly a bad idea in retrospect, but fer some reason whenever I'd swab my teeth with that stuff when I was real little, I'd feel better in th' morning if I'd come down with somethin'."
- [2014-02-19 14:54:12] * Bookwright spoing-spoing-poings back from the storage room, scorepad floating behind him. "Well if you guys don't want to, I want some of that beer." He floats a bottle up, but it bounces fruitlessly against the shield. "Er... maybe later then."
- [2014-02-19 14:55:10] * Golden_Dream looks around. "So, where do we go now? Reaper pony jus' went and took off somewhere. Maybe this is all they wanted t' show us?"
- [2014-02-19 14:57:16] * Noble_Heart shakes her head. "We would guess that We should continue further on. There is an exit out the upper balcony here." She gestures towards the storage room. "There are also locked boxes within. Though getting to them may be dangerous."
- [2014-02-19 14:57:32] * CopyCat pretends to be distracted by something and looks around. She picks up Golden_Dream with her magic (bubble and all) and places her at the top of the stairs, near Bookwright. She turns back around and feigns innocence at the scowl that is probably aimed in her direction. "What?"
- [2014-02-19 15:02:16] * Golden_Dream kicks her legs when all of a sudden, gravity didn't work. And there was indeed glares shot at CopyCat. But it was mostly met with a sigh and begrudging "Thanks." Yup. Just need a friend to take you anywhere nowadays. She looks at the vending machine and makes gestures to check it out. "... Yeah. Yeah, we should prolly get up there." She muttered.
- [2014-02-19 15:10:02] * Noble_Heart frowns slightly. "Perhaps it would be best if We continue on? It is doubtful that the recordings have been stowed in anything locked in any case. Though there might be something of value in these boxes, this was a storage room for recreation." She taps her chin. "It might be best if we continue on to find the one who was acting as guide."
- [2014-02-19 15:11:09] * Golden_Dream blinks. Hmm. "Hey, let's hold off on th' storage room right this moment. Ya'll're jus' floatin' th' stuff we do find out in front of our bubbles. Best find a pocket of fresh air r' somethin' before loadin' ya'll up more."
- [2014-02-19 15:13:53] * Bookwright "Yeah."
- [2014-02-19 15:14:27] * Noble_Heart nods her head and frowns. "We should still continue on. And that requires passing through the storage room. The balcony on the far side seems to be the only way out."
- [2014-02-19 15:17:00] * Golden_Dream attempts to get to where Noble indicated. When she realized that it requires wings, she just gives a grave sigh. "See, this is what I got th' crossbow fer and now, I still can't use it."
- [2014-02-19 15:18:32] * Bookwright helpfully floats Golden_Dream up the stairs into the storage room. "Hee hee. You look pretty floating in your soap bubble."
- [2014-02-19 15:19:10] * Golden_Dream mutters obscenities. She's pretty outside of this durned bubble, too.
- [2014-02-19 15:21:25] * Noble_Heart sighs quietly, then nods her head. "We understand the difficulties that it must impose upon you. But We shall do Our best to help overcome them."
- [2014-02-19 15:24:11] * CopyCat looks around. "Shatara, where are you?"
- [2014-02-19 15:24:58] * Shatara squawks?
- [2014-02-19 15:26:12] * CopyCat nods. "Yes, you. You've been quiet ever since we found that griffin. Are you feeling all right?"
- [2014-02-19 15:28:53] * Golden_Dream checks out the door upstairs and bumps into it to see if the Reaper was around.
- [2014-02-19 15:31:29] * Shatara shrugs quietly.
- [2014-02-19 15:39:02] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3At the far end of the game storage room, a sliding glass door looks out onto the balcony on the opposite end. There is a chair on it, and the skeleton of a pony. The book she was reading melted into her. It has mostly disintegrated now, leaving only the cover and a few tattered pages, but part of the lost text is forever written across her ribcage...
- [2014-02-19 15:40:58] * Bookwright is repulsed.
- [2014-02-19 15:41:57] * Noble_Heart frowns as she moves up to the doors, reaching out with her magic to try and open them. "We suspect this is the way that the reaper has gone. It is the only way to go without going through a wall or something equally impossible."
- [2014-02-19 15:43:48] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3Beyond, Bookwright can see the rooftops of several other buildings, with the canyon walls and the mountains rising up above and behind them. The Bookwright spots something odd. Hoofprints leading across the clay-tiled roof of a nearby building. Little flames flicker in the hoofrpints.
- [2014-02-19 15:44:21] * Bookwright points. "Ah... there are hoofprints on that roof over there that are on fire."
- [2014-02-19 15:45:19] * Noble_Heart taps her chin. "Like the hoofprints down below. Doubtless left by this reaper which We are following."
- [2014-02-19 15:45:37] * CopyCat squints at the wrong building entirely. "Where?"
- [2014-02-19 15:46:01] * Bookwright 's hoof bounces off the inside of his bubble. *doing* "That one. Over there."
- [2014-02-19 15:47:17] * CopyCat does like a cat and just looks at Bookwright's hoof.
- [2014-02-19 15:47:35] * Bookwright "Ah... nevermind. Let's keep moving, shall we?"
- [2014-02-19 15:48:05] * Golden_Dream sighs. "Th' thing's a spirit. We're lucky that it didn't come out of th' ground in front'a me and scare me half t' death." When Goldy heard that... Well. That didn't exactly inspire confidence. She whimpered. It could just be that she never saw such a thing because she lives in a rather marshy land, but there's something intimidating about something that makes hoofprints with fire. "... I...
- [2014-02-19 15:48:07] * Golden_Dream ...say we head through here first. Could be something other than what we're lookin' fer that we don't wanna get tangled up with." She muttered.
- [2014-02-19 15:51:23] * CopyCat nods. "I think we should let Get Lost take a look at those boxes while we're here."
- [2014-02-19 15:52:09] * Noble_Heart stood near the exit to the rear balcony. "We do not believe there is any other way out of this building, is there? Downstairs was a kitchen and bathroom, were they not? Or did We hear wrong?"
- [2014-02-19 15:53:33] * Golden_Dream sighs. "To th' roof it is, then." Wee.
- [2014-02-19 15:56:17] * Noble_Heart smiles down to Golden Dream. "Do not fear. We would not let you fall or be hurt." She used her magic in an attempt to open the door onto the balcony.
- [2014-02-19 15:59:56] * Golden_Dream frowns, then looks up. "I'm a lil' worried that it wouldn't be ya'll's choice."
- [2014-02-19 16:06:19] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3The door slides open easily.
- [2014-02-19 16:07:39] * Noble_Heart moved out first onto the rear balcony, making space as best she could for the others to follow. Traveling was going to be cramped and possibly very dangerous at that.
- [2014-02-19 16:09:59] * Bookwright follows close behind Noble_Heart
- [2014-02-19 16:14:22] * Shatara follows the others.
- [2014-02-19 16:16:21] * Golden_Dream tries to lead the way, but gets distracted by her own thoughts.
- [2014-02-19 16:18:34] * Noble_Heart moved up onto the nearby rooftop, helping the others up as they needed it. It would seem the hoofprints were the path to follow. Though there was no guarantee that was the case.
- [2014-02-19 16:19:37] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3Having apparently lost track of their reaper guide, the group has little direction. However, Bookwright's spell is indicating scattered records throughout the school. The nearest is on the second floor of a nearby building, and another looks to be on the ground not far from it.
- [2014-02-19 16:19:58] * CopyCat joins Noble and the others on the roof.
- [2014-02-19 16:21:44] * Bookwright "I've spotted a few more records. There's one on the ground over there-" he points vaguely "-and another on the second floor of that building just beyond it. Would somepony please lower me and my soap bubble down?"
- [2014-02-19 16:23:18] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3The clay tiles clackity-clack beneath the weight of ponies. The burning hoofprints lead across the rooftop and stop From the point where the hoofprints stop, the reaper who left them seems to have been looking towards one of the more intact towers.
- [2014-02-19 16:24:12] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3However, there is a fair distance to cross to get to that tower.
- [2014-02-19 16:25:20] * Golden_Dream frowns. "Wanna head to that tower over there?"
- [2014-02-19 16:25:38] * Noble_Heart looks up towards the tower in the distance. "We suppose We shall have to make a slow movement in that direction, yes." SHe looks towards Bookwright, then down below. "We would suggest looking for more recordings along the way."
- [2014-02-19 16:27:30] * Golden_Dream shrugs. "So long as I don' have t' get outta th' bubble."
- [2014-02-19 16:28:46] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3As they look towards the tower, Golden_Dream and Noble_Heart notice another strange, griffin-like sigil marked on the tower about three stories up.
- [2014-02-19 16:29:20] * Golden_Dream blinks and then grimaces. "Do we really gotta listen t' more o' those?"
- [2014-02-19 16:31:17] * Bookwright "What's the matter Goldy? Didn't like listening to the radio at home?"
- [2014-02-19 16:31:18] * Noble_Heart tilts her head to one side. "Do you not wish to know what drove a griffin to come to this place? Or what bargain he struck with the Reapers? It might explain why this one has called to you." She motions towards the distant symbol. "Or perhaps why there are symbols marking these ruins in such an odd way."
- [2014-02-19 16:33:03] * Get_Late follows the others like a nice bot would do
- [2014-02-19 16:33:22] * Golden_Dream rolls her eyes. "Nah, I just don' like bein' trash talked."
- [2014-02-19 16:37:12] * Noble_Heart looks down towards the streets. "We suggest working towards the tower while following Bookwright's magic. It makes sense to Us." She began to work to the edge of the roof and lower Bookwright to the street below carefully.
- [2014-02-19 16:37:43] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3*squeaky squeaky*
- [2014-02-19 16:38:17] * Bookwright looks around for the source of the squeaky noises.
- [2014-02-19 16:39:55] * Golden_Dream twitches a little. The coloration of the place still seemed off. "Let's get movin'."
- [2014-02-19 16:39:58] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3The street is pinked-tinted cobblestone with wrought-iron street lamps. An abandoned carrage, once silver but now tarnished with age and with the emblem of Luna's Academy on its side, leans slightly on a tilting wheel. Tattered curtains on the windows flutter in an unfelt wind.
- [2014-02-19 16:40:43] * Bookwright proceeds directly for the record illuminated in his mind. He doesn't want to be down here any longer than he has to.
- [2014-02-19 16:41:35] * Noble_Heart keeps an eye on Bookwright below. "We should stay upon the rooftops as much as we can. The dangers of the pink mist is less here it seems. And it allows an easier view of the tower." She moves down the rooftops towards the second floor room which Bookwright had also indicated.
- [2014-02-19 16:42:02] * CopyCat looks over at the tower the others were talking about. "A pity there is no mare inside who can lower her long magical mane for us to climb. Wings just aren't as romantic."
- [2014-02-19 16:42:34] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3The road zig-zags around the buildings of the school, mostly teacher housing here with what looks like student housing in the block ahead. There is the glimpse of a miniature courtyard between the buildings. The illuminated record on the ground lies in that direction, the one slightly closer on the second floor of one of the teacher housing buildings.
- [2014-02-19 16:44:29] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3Shatara's eyes are drawn to the tower and the symbol there. It is familiar, but in a wrong and distant way. After a moment's contemplation, he realizes that the symbol looks like an inversion of a griffin sacred mark, with a few added scratches.
- [2014-02-19 16:45:48] * Bookwright makes like a hamsterball and rolls his way slightly unsteadily towards the spot.
- [2014-02-19 16:47:35] * CopyCat watches how her friends have to roll her shield to get it to move with them. It looked like fun, so she tries too!
- [2014-02-19 16:47:46] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3*squeaky squeaky*
- [2014-02-19 16:49:18] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3As Bookwright moves down the street, past the carriage and closer to the miniture courtyard, more of it becomes visible. Dead trees and bushes line a plot of mud from which grow the ancient and warped metal forms of a slide and swing set.
- [2014-02-19 16:50:34] * Noble_Heart does her best to keep her eye out for danger. Though in a place like this, everything was probably dangerous.
- [2014-02-19 16:52:33] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3 A pole thrusts upward at a slight angle, a rope dangling from it, the deflated mass of rubber on the end swaying in little circular movements. The once bright and colorful paint on the metal objects is flaked almost away.
- [2014-02-19 16:56:07] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3The wooden skeleton of a jungle-themed jungle-gym takes up one corner, the skeletons of small foals cowering inside it. Another skeleton lies near the swings. A slightly twisted merry-go-round turns lazily (*squeaky squeaky*) in circles, the dead filly laying on the edge of it pushing it with a dangling hoof. The record is buried in the sand nearby.
- [2014-02-19 16:59:05] * Bookwright wobbles dangerously as he gets within range of the record, and tries to uncover it with telekinesis.
- [2014-02-19 16:59:20] * Golden_Dream creeps around, frowning slightly. She looks at the record and nods at Bookie. She hoped it was just regular static, to be honest. Everything else seemed to be rather depressing.
- [2014-02-19 17:00:56] * CopyCat finds hamsterballing to be very tricky! How did Golden make it look so easy?
- [2014-02-19 17:02:15] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3Bookwright loses control of his hamsterball, feeling the energy sphere pull his hooves out from under him, dumping him on his chin as he rolls forward into the little playground, hitting the edge of the sandbox and thumping into the merry-go-round. He comes to a stop directly over the buried record.
- [2014-02-19 17:04:35] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3CopyCat, attempting the hamsterball trick too, manages to copy Bookwright, rolling into him, pinning his sphere between the merry-go-round and her own. The force is enough to stop the merry-go-round (*squeeeeeeeek*) from turning. The dead filly looks up at Bookwright and CopyCat with glowing pink eyes.
- [2014-02-19 17:05:15] * Bookwright goes wide eyed. "...oh no..."
- [2014-02-19 17:05:52] * Bookwright hisses at CopyCat. "Let's... just... back away. Slowly."
- [2014-02-19 17:05:57] * CopyCat is now an upside-down Celestia in a bubble. She waves. "Umm, hello there... little one."
- [2014-02-19 17:14:46] * Golden_Dream proceeds to call out the ghoul. Shit, think fast. "Hey, wanna play tag?" She bellowed. She then proceeded to go full tilt at the ghoul while in the hamster ball shield.
- [2014-02-19 17:17:47] * Golden_Dream thought really, really loudly. [Make with the getting Bookie out of there!]
- [2014-02-19 17:20:50] * CopyCat senses how nervous Bookwright felt towards the creature but it also put another thought into her mind as well. Trying to stay calm, she focuses her magic and assumes the form of Luna instead of her sister. She smiles at the ghoul and repeats; "Hello there, little one. You've been such a good filly. Were you waiting for me?"
- [2014-02-19 17:31:33] * Bookwright wobbles backwards. As soon as he's put a little distance between himself and the ghoul, he starts to shift sand off of the recording he spotted.
- [2014-02-19 17:33:19] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3Bookwright is rewarded as he pulls another audio module out of the sand.
- [2014-02-19 17:38:46] * Bookwright smiles briefly, but his attention is focused on the curious interactions between CopyCat, Golden_Dream, and the ghoul child.
- [2014-02-19 17:51:01] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3Shatara holds back, staring from "Luna's" back at the shield that confines him and the terrifying pink-shrouded ruins beyond. The griffin feels there is nothing he can do in this situation. That's when a voice distinctly not his own whispers in his head.
- [2014-02-19 17:55:05] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3A moment later, the filly turns her head from Golden_Dream to Luna, but there seems to be no spark of recognition there. She cocks her head, then turns and looks back at the swiftly approaching game of tag. Tag, it seems, she remembers. Her horn flairs... >>FLASH<<
- [2014-02-19 17:56:17] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3Golden_Dream feels a thump on her back as the Academy Foal teleports into her bubble with her, making a victorious rasping squeal!
- [2014-02-19 17:56:37] * Shatara looks around in slight panic. No one else seems to have heard that...
- [2014-02-19 18:01:13] * Noble_Heart watches as the filly teleports inside the sphere with Golden Dream. She blinks a moment. "Goldy! You're IT! Start counting!" Which might sound like the least useful advice ever, but at the moment, it was about the best idea she had. Which was... Not so good.
- [2014-02-19 18:09:33] * Golden_Dream was shocked to see that the ghoul was in the bubble with her. But as always, she thinks quick. "Aw, that's a cute trick." She notes. Her mouth then curls to a mischievous smile. "Betcha y' can't run faster than me." She pokes the ghoul back and then, while in the bubble with the ghoul, takes off as fast as she could muster in a circle around the playground. She hoped that ghouls could still...
- [2014-02-19 18:09:35] * Golden_Dream ...get dizzy.
- [2014-02-19 18:09:59] * CopyCat sensed something from the ghoul when their eyes met. There wasn't any recognition but there was a slight spark. She tries to share this with her friends. [This foul is not completely lost, but I fear she is on the very edge of going feral. Her pain and confusion are being overridden by competitive aggression. She may not 'play' for long.]
- [2014-02-19 18:16:55] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3As Golden_Dream picks up speed, the filly falls from her back and is swept up in the spinning ball, unable to keep pace. CopyCat cries out her warning as Golden_Dream tries to navigate a path through the playground that will allow her to keep up speed. Meanwhile, an alien voice in Shatara's head has just levied a most unusual offer.
- [2014-02-19 18:17:21] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3And Bookwright holds yet another audio module as he watches on.
- [2014-02-19 18:18:08] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3(( Battle Sequence: Golden_Dream, then CopyCat, then Bookwright, then Shatara, then the Academy Foal, then Noble_Heart. Currently Bookwright's turn. ))
- [2014-02-19 18:18:14] <Rosemary_Thyme> 3--- End of Session ---
- [2014-02-19 18:18:23] * Golden_Dream keeps focused as the ball picks up speed. Yes! This is working! ['Port me 'port me 'port me 'port me 'port me 'port me 'port me!]
