Sylum was created by a madman named Professor.Professor. Otion. Who already was wanted for multiple crimes against humanity. His latest experiment was studding the Emotion Spectrum, how it effects powers and even powers based on it.
But the experiment failed, something made of pure energy was born. It was unstable, finding something to use as a body, the strange insane asylum jacket the body of a past test subject worn. But it wasn't enough. Otion was forced to agree to Xenon testing and fixing the strange being bonded to a jacket. When the experiments finished, the new being had no memory of his creation.
But after he was made, Otion vanished, forcing Xenon to keep the new being, now named Sylum.


Jacket or Not?
Technically, Sylum is a being of energy, able to morph his body as if it was all a Lantern energy, the jacket acting as the ring. Damaging the Jacket releases the energy stored. With no jacket acting as his ring, he would fade out of existence


'Alternate Universe'
Sometime in Sylum's life, he developed the power to call out his energy form, the Claws were his first taste of his power. Otion, spying on Sylum as he lived his life. After the Meatverse event, Otion kidnapped Sylum, testing his body's limits until his new from was made. Then delivered back into society, the trauma and his strange mind removing the memories of it. Leading him to think he was in an alternate universe for a few months.


Personality
Madness is not an emotion. How sylum was born from the Emotion Spectrum is not fully known, it is believed he is a failed complication of multiple emotions, Fear, Anger, Sadness, Joy. All of these becoming an uneasy being.


In recent times, Otion was found, he will pay for all his crimes, and possible Sylum's. Due to the fact Sylum can be considered a weapon, He must be placed under supervision for some time before being released freely into Neon.
