FAQ and Useful Tips

>WHO IS NEXIALIST?
Nexialist is a user who has been on Worlds for several years.  He is known for being either entirely silent or speaking very little.  When he does speak, it is cryptic. His mysterious persona interests a lot of people and in the past a number of users spent their time on Worlds hanging around him. There is a "cult" of a few users who look to him as a leader, speaking generic and vague things about him.  Sometimes Nexialist seems to indulge and encourage this behavior to an extent.  Mostly it just amounts to roleplaying and trying to be 3spooky5me.

>WHO IS JIMBLY?
Jimbly is a long-time user who spent a great deal of time building custom worlds and providing resources and information for other users.  For a long time, he hosted a great number of user-made worlds on his personal site.  Recently, that site went offline and now much of those sites are hosted on the official Worlds site under Jimbly's user page.

>ARE THERE ACTIVE MODS?
Yes.  Users with blue highlighted names are admin and yellow highlights are mods.   You should note that mods are not highlighted in yellow unless they are in host mode, also indicated by the "HOST-" at the beginning of the username.  There are 4 active admins total, one of which is SirGemini.  There are a number of active mods, otherwise known as hosts.  JetJanitor, _Melissa_, serendipity, and Mac are a few.

>IS THERE ANYTHING I SHOULD BE AWARE OF?
Veteran players do not like cursing.  Doing so, especially in GroundZero, can result in a ban.  Don't stand near or hover around _Melissa_.

>DOES WORLDS WORK ON LINUX OR MAC?
No, it doesn't.  It may work using a virtual machine.

>WHAT VERSIONS OF WINDOWS ARE SUPPORTED?
Windows 98, 2000, NT, XP, Vista, and Windows 7 are fully supported.  Some people have found moderate success using Windows 8 in compatibility mode, but many have been unable to even launch the program with this operating system.  For now, there doesn't seem to be any fix to this.

>WHAT IS VIP MEMBERSHIP?
VIP membership allows you to use the 3D avatars as well as enter certain VIP-only areas.  All new users automatically get a free trial of VIP membership for one week.

>HOW DO I STAY A VIP OR GET MEMBERSHIP?

>IS THERE ANY OTHER WAY?
You can win VIP membership in the weekly trivia game.  They are hosted Saturday evenings at 8PM EST and usually last about an hour.
