  12. May 12 12:30:35 <Garlyle> At 2:57 sharp, a police car driven by a maniac nearly runs down a small child in a parking lot outside of the Grand Colosseum. This is mostly irrelevant, except for the part where it's THE GRAND COLOSSEUM.

So she downs her last shot of caffiene and stumbles towards the colosseum. <I hope whoever picked this start time gets sacked for this...>

  16. May 12 12:31:51 <Garlyle> The largest stadium in the Altho Region, it plays host to the Pokemon League's preliminary tournaments in December of each year. And while the finalists go on to Victory Road and the League Itself in the heart of Altho, the Colosseum is still considered by many to be the End and Beginning of the League each year
  17. May 12 12:32:43 <Garlyle> It seats tens of thousands of people and contains multiple battlefields, and today they're all going to be seeing use as it is opened up for the opening ceremonies of this year's Pokemon League events

  20. May 12 12:34:29 * Cole was very much unlike the waking person previously described. For one, he was male, and for two, he was wide awake. This, the Pokemon League's events, was a young hopeful. He was a little more experienced than the beginners, but not by very much.

  25. May 12 12:35:59 <Garlyle> And the many entrances to the Colosseum begin to swing open with loud groans, and to the cheers of those who are waiting outside, because it was getting a little cold thank you!
  26. May 12 12:36:06 * Cole watches the doors of the colosseum open, quickly making his way towards to get a good front-row seat. That, and so that he doesn't get squished by people entering past him.
  27. May 12 12:36:29 * Sara_Tosen goes and grabs the first seat she can find, ignoring the trumpets. Then she takes out a pair of headphones from her coat pocket.

May 12 12:36:58 * Trevor , hoping to make a quick exit from Jamal's presence before he manages to accomplish anything else that could end up with him dead, attempts to make his way into the Colosseum, sifting through the crowd as he does so. He takes special care to avoid being jostled about too much, or worse, being trampled by droves of people.
  29. May 12 12:37:11 * Reinhard shoves his way right in, as excited as he could possibly be. Odal, peeking out of his coat, snaps at the occasional person that bumps into her.
  30. May 12 12:37:13 <Sara_Tosen> Her tiny music player didn't have any music on it - she would t be able to hear it anyway. But it gave her a reason to explain why she wasn't hearing what was going on.
  31. May 12 12:37:52 * Grant watches the hustling and bustling in the colosseum from a cafe nearby. It was long since he has taken any interest on the League, but the New Year was an special location. A worn down jacket covers him, his various tattoos hidden under it.
  32. May 12 12:37:52 <Steve> Steve looks to the Colosseum with silent wonder. When he started his journey with Gaav, then Charmander, at his side, he knew he was going to this big event. But then as a trainer, not a breeder.
  33. May 12 12:39:01 * Marcus picks up William so he isn't squashed by the crowd and happily finds a seat near the closest person he recognizes, which happens to be Trevor.
  34. May 12 12:39:57 <Steve> He stops, and looks to the Pokeball containing Gaav, pressing it to his forehead. "I know how we started out. I hope you don't mind the change of plans. Now I just want to watch the show." A calm, reassuring warmth came from the ball. Steve smiles, and takes his seat.

May 12 12:40:48 * Cole makes his way through; he was a trainer, but not one of those that had gotten all 8 badges; he had his Pokemon in their Pokeballs right now because...well, Axon (a Sandshrew) and Athena (a Ralts) were rather short, and Deius (Dewott) wasn't exactly tall, either, despite being taller; wouldn't want to lose any of them in the crowd.
  37. May 12 12:41:07 * Camellia snakes through the crowd, hugging Chai close to herself with one arm and trying not to spill a steaming mug held in the other. She steps to the side as she enters the Colosseum, scanning the crowd for anyone she might know.

A shame that those weak of mind are distracted from the mysteries of the Universe by such things, don't you think, Zushakon?" he says to the shadowy Duskull floating near him. The skull-faced ghost just nods in answer.
  39. May 12 12:42:33 * Sara_Tosen is more than content to just watch things go. She has always been a more casual trainer - gym leaders tended to look at her funny. Eventually she stopped trying, only battling when challenged. but she had other obligations, so it worked.

  47. May 12 12:45:42 <Salino> Salino stood on one far side of the colosseum and stared out over the massive crowds of people silently. He never had grand spectacles of fun on New Year's like most people, he preferred to keep a silent watch over everyone regardless of if he was on the job or not.

  49. May 12 12:46:47 * Grant shrugs and heads inside the Colosseum. "But foolish or not, a distraction might be good for the boredom that assails me. Let us go, Zushakon."

  51. May 12 12:48:28 <Camellia> As Camellia surveys the crowd, she catches a glimpse of Reinhard and walks over. "Hey! Nice to see you again. Are you participat- oh god someone's in my head."

Salino probably looked shady to those that didn't know him, with his trench coat and hat donned upon him.
  64. May 12 12:51:24 * Camellia turns back to Reinhard. "Oh, good luck! Is your brother trying too? I'm not much for official battles, so I think I'll just watch."

  66. May 12 12:51:29 <Marcus> Marcus pulls a journal out of his bag and begins flipping pages. "Now let'se see if this were to work." he mumbles to himself.

May 12 12:51:38 <Trevor> Trevor, in his attempts to make it through the massive blob of pediatrically induced death that are the droves of spectators and participants, attempts to find refuge in the one of the nearby areas so as to not be smashed to pieces... Hopefully this means he makes it to a Pokemon Center, as Trudy and Conor took quite the hammering from Jamal's Pokemon earlier.

  71. May 12 12:52:51 <Sara_Tosen> No response. Well...it could have been worse. But Sara will just sit in the stands, alone, as usual. It wasn't that bad now that she is used to it.
  72. May 12 12:53:03 * Cole looks around. He sees someone rather...large. And loud. And not that far from him. He speaks quitely to Dewott. "As you may be aware, strength is not the only consideration to take in these battles."

  74. May 12 12:53:49 <Garlyle> There are several small areas set up in the Colosseum, found easily thanks to signs hanging around, that lead Trevor to a small Pokemon Center. It's attended by a single Nurse and an older doctor who looks almost bored.
  75. May 12 12:54:20 * Reinhard shrugs. "Bit too long of a walk to the hotel, and I would never wake someone sleeping so peacefully. But ah, it is not my place to demand you do something that you do not wish to!"
  76. May 12 12:54:52 * Camellia gives a sheepish smile. "It'd be different if they let me use my hexing tricks. I've gotten used to them."
  77. May 12 12:55:17 <Reinhard> "You could always ask for interference! I myself would not mind AT ALL!"
  78. May 12 12:56:29 * Cole happens to overhear the conversation, and looks over. Something about hexing tricks? He couldn't help but wonder, to himself and his Pokemon. "Deius...do you suppose that has something to do with my talents?" Deius shrugs with a lack of knowledge on the subject.
  79. May 12 12:56:32 <Camellia> "Oh, I didn't know they allowed that in battles. I guess I'm not too familiar with the League."
  80. May 12 12:56:54 * Grant just watches the crowd, keeping himself distance from major aglomerations. "Swarming like Durants, how quaint." He shrugs and starts shoving his way inside the colosseum.

  82. May 12 12:57:30 * Reinhard takes the occasional look around to see how far he's moved in the line.
  83. May 12 12:57:30 <Trevor> Trevor quickly rushes over to the Pokemon Center. Not out of urgency for his Pokemon, but rather to avoid being ground into dust beneath the feet of the mob. "I apologize for being a nuisance so early, but my Pokemon were injured in a skirmish earlier in the evening." He holds up Trudy's and Conor's PokeBalls for the Nurse and doctor.
  84. May 12 12:58:43 <Garlyle> "Oh look, we've already got our first brat..." The doctor seems less than enthused and mumbles something that clearly isn't very happy. The Nurse shoots him A Look, and apologies to Trevor quickly for his attitude, taking his Pokemon and setting them into a recovery stand
  85. May 12 12:59:01 * Salino nodded to Sunny and the faithful bird swooped down to him and landed on his shoulder. He then pulled out a pokeball and called out Prickly, his Cacturne. Both pokemon gave him pleading eyes until he finally gave in, "Alright guys, we'll look around."
  86. May 12 12:59:33 <Marcus> Marcus looks up from his book noticing the small boy is gone. "Ah darn, I seem to have lost my only friend."

  88. May 12 13:00:37 * Camellia gives a tap to the lanturn hanging at her side. "Chamomile, you think you'd be up for battling? I know it's not on the job, but it might be fun."
  89. May 12 13:02:15 <Garlyle> As Reinhard moves through the lines towards his seat, he is fairly certain he sees some familiar and brightly colored clothing moving at the end of one of the halls nearby. It takes you a couple moments for your brain to register they were... a clown costume?
  90. May 12 13:02:25 <Trevor> Trevor frowns at the comment made by the doctor. "I'm... Sorry for not being an exceptional battler?"

  99. May 12 13:05:10 <Garlyle> As Reinhard and Co. stand there dumbfounded, the line pushes forward behind them. "Hey, keep moving!"

  104. May 12 13:06:42 <Marcus> "Henry, see if you can find where that boy went." Marcus whispers to his Murkrow. Henry looks about for a second before taking flight.

Holy shit you can see members of the gym and--holy shit is that the Elite Four that are walking out of the door just below your seat RIGHT NOW?

  118. May 12 13:12:24 * Salino looks around the colosseum one last time before he signs and resigns to finding a seat. He picks a seat near the very top as to have a good vantage point to observe anything that may happen.

  120. May 12 13:12:42 * Kuji walks out of the entrance, glad to be separated from Jamal... for now. He hated to admit it, but he was the best person for the job. But he's being distracted now. Kuji walked to the nearest guard and showed him Christoph's picture, asking if he saw him.

  122. May 12 13:12:53 <Marcus> "Oh boy this is the best!" Marcus thinks to himself. Taking the oppoturnity Marcus yells down to the Elite Four "You guys are so cool!"
  123. May 12 13:13:01 <Steve> Steve notices that Marcus is getting a primo seat as well. He smiles and waves, taking his seat, Gaav to his right.
  124. May 12 13:14:42 * Grant ends up a few seats from the Grimer. His Duskull rests above his head, as the trainer just watches the arena with an impassible expression on his face.
  125. May 12 13:14:49 <Garlyle> Though they look fairly busy, two of them do get distracted by the crowd cheering them out of hiding. Kris; dressed up in a very fine black suit and with a matching fedora, turns and looks to Marcus and gives him a thumbs up. The elderly Julia, dressed in thick clothes for the cold, turns and waves politely to the seats in general.
  126. May 12 13:14:49 <Camellia> "Well, silly seems to be the theme of the night. First that clown with the fireworks, and would you believe I saw a guy nearly run a kid down while I was walking into here?"
  127. May 12 13:15:11 <Marcus> Marcus glances over to Steve. "Oh hey, guy. We got some nice seats eh?" Marcus waves back.
  128. May 12 13:15:18 <Reinhard> "Running children over is DANGEROUS and THOUGHTLESS, though! Were there at least police nearby?"
  129. May 12 13:15:21 <Salino> Sunny and Prickly settle down as they sit with Salino. Wingull resigns to plop down on top of his hat while Prickly simply settles down on the seat next to him. "This should be fun to watch, just remember our obligations guys."
  130. May 12 13:15:34 <Camellia> "....I think they WERE the police."
  131. May 12 13:15:48 * Cole sits down as well, he and his Dewott with him. He had good seats, not great, but good. But for him, the seats were pretty perfect.
  132. May 12 13:15:49 <Steve> Steve suddenly recognizes the elder Julia, and can't help but cheer as well. Smiling towards Marcus, Steve adds, "This is going to be a good show, isn't it?"
  133. May 12 13:15:51 * Reinhard falls silent, looks down, and considers.
  134. May 12 13:15:51 * Marcus blushes when two of the Elite Four actually notice him.
  135. May 12 13:15:54 <Reinhard> "A terrifying prospect."
  136. May 12 13:16:04 * Camellia just nods sadly.
  137. May 12 13:17:04 <Garlyle> While Julia has been approached with someone who clearly has URGENT BUSINESS, Kris is actually still watching you. He has CHALLENGER EYES.
  138. May 12 13:17:11 <Marcus> "It's going to be great. I haven't been this excited all year!" Marcus replies.
  139. May 12 13:18:18 * Sara_Tosen scoots away from the grimer very slowly, Rocky's pokeball between them. Hopefully when shit hit the fan her reflexes would be quick enough.
  140. May 12 13:18:49 <Garlyle> The Grimer has not noticed Sara. It is just existing in the seat, being kind of flithy and eww.
  141. May 12 13:19:03 * Marcus stares back. Trying to guage if Kris is actually challenging him. How could that be?
  142. May 12 13:20:34 <Garlyle> A smooth grin slowly forms on Kris' lips; but then the tall chef beside him grabs his arms to get his attention, and he turns to walk away - but not before turning once more and pointing right at Marcus. You are pretty damn sure you just got a formal challenge.
  143. May 12 13:21:48 * Cole hears someone behind him shout about how sexy Kris is, hopefully a woman, but pays it no mind; after all, he had better things to concern himself with.
  144. May 12 13:21:49 <Garlyle> For the rest of you: You settle into your various seats. It looks like they're getting ready to handle OPENING CEREMONIES.
  145. May 12 13:21:59 * Grant glances at Sara. To be bothered by this smell is nothing compared with the myriads of feelings that rushes the brain of anyone who visits the Unown dimension. "Will this take much?"
  146. May 12 13:22:05 <Marcus> Marcus quickly nods at Kris. Wondering how to go about accepting his challenge.
  147. May 12 13:22:32 <Steve> Steve looks to Marcus for verification on what just happened.
  148. May 12 13:24:03 <Marcus> Marcus notices Steve's look. "I think I just got challenged and accepted. At least I think so."
  149. May 12 13:24:07 * Camellia quickly takes a seat and sips her drink, though her mind is still half on the events from earlier tonight.
  150. May 12 13:24:09 <Sara_Tosen> By happenstance, Sara looks back. She seems...unamused, although it's likely due to the one obvious reason.
  151. May 12 13:24:31 * Cole whispers to Deius again. "I wish I had front row...looks like Kris just called someone out." Deius blinks the blink of eternal confusion.
  152. May 12 13:25:38 <Garlyle> There's a single large battlefield in the center of the Colosseum, and from what you can tell - definitely aided by the large monitors around the outside of the arena - it looks like the leaders of the League have taken center stage.
