  1. This is a conversation between Chara and yourself, a lost SOUL, seeking redemption.
  2. Chara: "Greetings."
  3. a lost SOUL, seeking redemption: "Hello there, young one... Would you care to listen to the ramblings of lost hope?"
  4. Chara: "Why not. I have nothing better to do."
  5. a lost SOUL, seeking redemption: "It... It was a long, long time ago... With the death of family, and in fear, grief, and rage, I made a mistake I came to regret, time and time again, for the rest of my life... It was foolish, but... It gave hope..."
  6. Chara: "And what might that mistake be, exactly?"
  7. a lost SOUL, seeking redemption: "... War... To declare war, when I never wanted or even dreamed of meaning it... I never wanted an outcome like what happened... I just wanted peace, a better future... Hope, when it was slowly fading away..."
  8. Chara: Chara stared for a moment, then shook their head. "Of course. No one ever dreams or wants to declare war unless they are absolute monsters. I doubt you are though, right?"
  9. a lost SOUL, seeking redemption: The voice pauses for a short while before continuing. "There's many definitions to 'monster'... Those who seek violence... Fear... That's but one kind, perhaps the worst kind... A monster could simply be something someone fears, be it with cause or not."
  10. Chara: "And which definition of 'monster' do you think I am referring to?"
  11. a lost SOUL, seeking redemption: "The first one... Indeed there are many definitions, the context and viewpoint is what matters, as they do with everything..."
  12. Chara: "Then I respect you for that slightly more." They nodded. "So... Who'd you declare war against?"
  13. a lost SOUL, seeking redemption: The voice goes quiet for a short while, then a sigh is heard. ". . . Humans."
  14. Chara: They let that sink in for a moment, then nodded. "Now that I can understand. Humans are vile, horrible creatures obsessed with violence, destruction, self-preservation and prejudice."
  15. a lost SOUL, seeking redemption: "There are still a few who truly believe in just causes, though... As there always will be, there's a glimmer of hope in the shadow... That's why I regret it... To make such a choice, even knowing that... It tore me apart..."
  16. Chara: "Now listen, you may not have had a choice, you probably felt you did what you had to do. No one knows that, when declaring war on something, there are those who aren't like the rest."
  17. a lost SOUL, seeking redemption: "... Perhaps you're right... The repercussions, though... There's a quote, written by a human author... "To love and win is the best thing; to love and lose, the next best." ... Do you think it holds any merit?"
  18. Chara: "I would like to think so. I truly would. But what do I know. I've lost many a thing, but never got anything to go my way."
  19. a lost SOUL, seeking redemption: "Perhaps... Perhaps I'm just being a dreamer... Ambitious, as I was all that time ago... Ambition... That's why I regret it... Because deep down, I felt that I truly believed it was justified..."
  20. Chara: "Listen... War against humans is always justified. They go to war with themselves already as it is!"
  21. a lost SOUL, seeking redemption: "And what if it is? We would have been wiped out had we gone through with it..."
  22. Chara: "You just need to pick the perfect time to strike! A time when they were divided as it was!"
  23. a lost SOUL, seeking redemption: "... I suppose... But why try and convince me now? It's too late for it, regardless of the outcome..."
  24. Chara: "I... I'm not sure... I just... I hate humans as it is, ironic given that I am one."
  25. a lost SOUL, seeking redemption: "I see... I don't blame you for it... There's always a reason, behind everything, justified or not..."
  26. Chara: "Yes, there is... So, who are you, exactly?" They raised an eyebrow.
  27. a lost SOUL, seeking redemption: "I was a dreamer, traped with the question... Sage, or murderer?"
  28. Chara: "It depends on how you view it."
  29. a lost SOUL, seeking redemption: "Indeed... Perhaps both. With everything comes consequences, and those consequences define who you are..."
  30. Chara: "Unless you make an active statement against it." They spoke confidently, as if from experience.
  31. a lost SOUL, seeking redemption: The voice sighs. "I suppose you'd be right once again... But to face bravery, justice, perseverance, patience, kindness, integrity, all to clear it away for a 'just' cause... It doesn't matter who we're fighting... To crush such strengths in the idea that it would aid our own... It's sad..."
  32. Chara: They sighed. "You never said who you were, though..."
  33. a lost SOUL, seeking redemption: "I apologize... My name is... Was... Asgore Dreemurr. I'm little more than a memory on the wind now... A lost soul, seeking redemption..."
  34. Chara: "A-Asgore? A-as in dad...?" They looked confused, trying to understand.
  35. a lost SOUL, seeking redemption: "I... I didn't want to tell you... I'm sorry. It seems as if you remember me as well, though..."
  36. Chara: "Father oh my goodness I haven't spoken to you in ages..." They were almost in tears, and stepped towards the other.
  37. a lost SOUL, seeking redemption: "... I missed you as well, Chara... I'm sorry we have to meet like this..." It's hard to tell that it's him anymore, figure simply a blurry mass of color.
