  1. >In the waning months of the Color Wars, the 106th faced missions critical to the agenda of General Ironwood.
  2. >When we arrived at the bombed out ruins of Mountain Glenn, our Hunter commander believed we had been sent to take out a Grimm nest the Oppressionist had been doing tests on.
  3. >What Katie Meadow didn't know however, was that our unit of the 106th was really after an experimental Mountain Glenn power source, that the General wanted for his super laser.
  4. >Keeping Meadow in the dark wasn't easy; the Hunters had become increasingly wary of the General's doings, and was on the lookout for the slightest hint of treachery.
  5. >Just like the rest of them though, she never caught whiff of what was really going on, until it was far too late.
  6. >As the drop ships landed, our unit disembarked quickly and joined up with the unit that had arrived with Meadow the day before.
  7. >They had been pushing the Grimm back towards an old research facility since yesterday.
  8. >With Meadow with them, it went from suicidal to tough, and their efforts had rewarded them with a foothold in the building's old courtyard.
  9. >Now with reinforcements, we'd be able to take the building and secure the component Ironwood wanted.
  10. >We wasted no time and launched an attack into the building's first floor.
  11. >Lead by Meadow and bolstered by our unit's fresh troops, we easily made our way through the courtyard and into the building.
  12. >Once inside, the Huntress makes quick work of the Grimm.
  13. >She used a spear that had 'vents' in the tip and at the sides.
  14. >She used her Aura to send bursts of aura through the vents that sent her and the spear spinning at high speeds and tearing through the Grimm.
  15. >Luckily, the first floor was mostly just a lobby, or it'd never have worked.
  16. >How they ever managed to stay alive with all that flair in battle, I'll never figure out.
  17. >"Alright. Intel says the Grimm's nest is near the top. I'll take the 83rd and a squad of the 106th up with me. The rest of the 106th clear the basement."
  18. >"Yes sir." Those two words echoed across the lobby as we split up.
  19. >As Meadow lead most of our forces up, we headed down.
  20. >Of course, that was where we wanted to go.
  21. >Fighting through the few Grimm that were there, we quickly located the department that was researching the power source.
  22. >We opened the door, and were immediately met by a small next's worth of Grimm.
  23. >They lunged at us, and our gun fire was just enough to keep them from killing our entire unit.
  24. >We wasted no time moving the bodies from the door way and retrieving the component.
  25. >We fought our way back up and regrouped with Meadow.
  26. >"Everything go alright down there?"
  27. >"Yes sir. We lost a few boys and stumbled on small nest, but the Grimm are no more."
  28. >"Excellent work, Captain. Now, let's head home. This nest won't be causing problems for us any more."
  29. >We radioed the drop ships once we got back to our base in the courtyard.
  30. >Soon enough, we were on our way back to Atlas.
  31. >The success of the mission to Mountain Glenn was something of a revelation for the men of the 106th.
  32. >Suddenly, we realized that the Hunters could be fooled.
  33. >And if they could be fooled, they could be killed.
