it still should have been adhered. it was offered for you to be let go if the cloak or something was left behind, but you took no loss.

i did need that hideout because i had just lead a war against Byson in Eva's absence. that was dangerous enough. staying near, Mourn knew to be an impossibility, as the Bygonegrove was not Yokai-controlled after that.

and yeah you say 'oh say you're in a different cave' and, I tried that!
but some newbie goes in, runs out and suddenly rps "outlaw yokai in desert!" or something
and it makes a problem for me, because at some point, the rumor gets rp'd so much admins don't see fit to redact it anymore

i've gotten over what happened to mourn about as much as i can.
but that 3v3 wasn't a guaranteed loss for you lot. your team did two things wrong:
1) you let Qaelthan get off his spells; he was glass dps. i recall you eating a shadow cannon from him.
2) i should've been your next priority. i dropped a sear on somebody and did my combo. i don't know if it was you or 'mergo- but being Sareen was oriented for long-term dps moreso than burst, and that the fight ended quickly, i don't think she can be blamed for the loss you took- she was our 'tank', and that wasn't taken seriously.

the severity of the loss was tactically deserved.
Demergo beat the shit out of Mourn when the latter was a Giga in the citadel, during Eline's time; he OOCly forgot and acted like I made all the shit up. But we can exclude that, even though it was Mourn's best dev- going from brute Yokai, to injured scavenger, and working his way up.

Demergo instilled vanity and a fear for lack of status in Mourn.
When he came back and tried to take Mourn's symbol of status (Durendal), a duel that was very close, this was sufficient dev even without the above to heat their rivalry. It only continued as Demergo strayed from Mourn's plans and outright threatened to kill one of his Kaor if they were not finished. Mourn made him swear not to fight him-

And upon fighting him in Alteros, against his vows- Mourn 100% had the IC to kill. I did not recklessly kill before this by any means. I spoke often to let people go and I was a loud proponent of mercy-for-dev, as it were.
But this was a completed rivalry.

he was oocly very verbal in seeking to arrange a gank on Mourn to begin with. that i died just about the day after in said gank, by his initiative, can really only say one thing:

you were responsible, more than yina, for that loss.
and don't tell me the story was better-

because both those Yokai afk'd immediately after, did nothing productive to this date, and both went on only to tarnish their reputations with one outright losing Imperfection.

i didn't even bitch in looc. demergo's post was a 40-min, 2-para piece of crap. i got admin approval for the only thing I saw Mourn willing to do- unable to release his pride or lust for authority- in creating a big explosion, which i was surprised to become a well-ran little CoI event with Faux narrating some fun volcanism. But that was all that came of it; your reasons fell very short of their supposed aim, and nothing further came of that loss for anyone.

It was just a hole in something that was there.
I was extremely active, developing into something myself, and trying to develop anyone I came into contact with- from rivals such as Kane or Achilles, both of which I spared- to allies I empowered, such as Rayleigh or Alastor, the former of which would've been afk if not for me exciting him and giving him promise.

The story was better with me. Not without me, and there was no valid mechanic for Demergo getting out of that, ICly or OOCly.

And to this day, I've gotten nothing back for that.

despite that i took that death quietly in the looc and you had been an utter ass-rash after the actual 3v3 (i hope you have the logs of that)

the damage is bigger than losing a character i was passionate for, it was a misuse of power, me being lead on (yina literally said 'i've got your back, i'll revive you' and suddenly im in a squish) + me having to eat your silly salt because you didn't pay attention to my plot and made a presumption about my ties to Demergo

you say an awful lot of ill about assumptions and you keep sound logic about it, but you ostensibly killed my character on one of those and not a good or thought-out one at that

hell, Lloyd Hector-Avharain was offered a 100% RB for an admin failing to omit him dying to a meta-kill. i think he settled for a 75%- which was admirable of him- but it remains that similarly, compensation is given out when something goes hideously wrong, and if the above isn't hideous then there's something hopeless and wretched in what the game's leadership has become.

of course i doubt the person pawting and smack-talking me in looc at the conclusion of my character's 40-year, most fulfilling and developmental rivalry
of course i do, when it's all thwarted and slowly pissed out in their conjured rescue and my subsequent doom by their hands
at least kudlak died to a full redtext, mourn really ate a shit-sandwich on the lazy post quality of his killers
