- Change log for Xonotic 0.8.2
- To say we simply reorganized the game code would be a huge understatement. Thanks to TimePath, many of the code's worst issues (existing since Quake times) have been cleared up completely, the future is looking bright for possibilities (including the ability to port to another engine!).
- New "quick" menu by terencehill which grants quick access to extra commands via an easy to use menu, default key to open the menu is F8
- Optional feature to show who's spectating you, can be disabled client side for those who don't like pressure!
- A few improvements to the vehicles, including colorized crosshairs, better spectating of players driving vehicles and a 3rd person view toggle-able with the dropweapon key (BACKSPACE and G by default)
- Radar in onslaught mode has some new uses. Players can teleport between control points by pressing the Use key near one (F by default), and can even spawn at control points by clicking them
- Minigame system by Melanosuchus, with some simple games (including pong, nine men's morris, bulldozer - a sokoban style game, tic tac toe, connect four and push-pull!), accessible via the F9 key
- Scrolling through lists in the menu feels a lot smoother now, thanks to terencehill!
- You can now see how much damage you did via damage indicators
- RocketMinsta mutator (explosive instagib with an electro-style secondary)
- Vampire hook mutator (hooking players steals their health, hooking teammates gives them your health)
- Breakable hook mutator (hooks can be instantly destroyed by lasers, also hurting the hook owner)
- New item times panel to show players when the mega items will re-spawn, enabled during warmup mode
- New weapon models! Hagar, devastator, rifle, fireball and the overkill weapons just got a lot more epic looking
- Vaporizer beams are a lot easier to see now, along with being colorized in deathmatch
- Massive improvements to the client movement prediction (laggers rejoice, game is actually playable!)
- Players can wait a few extra seconds before spawning in duel if they want (may help counter spawn killing)
- HUD shakes when hurt
- The CTF map dance has received a nice improvement you'll surely enjoy!
- Numerous tweaks to the crosshairs, Luma HUD/menu theme and Xolonium font by sev
- New bonus nade type: Entrap (creates a slowdown field which affects enemy teammates, lasts a while)
- No more silly players running or bending when the match ends!
- Vehicles no longer sink or swim in water in odd ways, raptor can even land on water (racer has a submarine mode when holding shift for those deep dives)
- You now download multiple packages at the same time at a higher speed (no more slow map downloads, yay)
- Spectator view mode can now be toggled with dropweapon (BACKSPACE or G by default), between first person and multiple third person modes
- Some improvements to the scoreboard, it's now a HUD panel (much more control over its size and position) and player names no longer trail off the bottom of the screen if the server is largely populated
- New mutator: Wall jumping!
- CTF can be set to show capture time records as rankings in the scoreboard, similar to CTS
- These are just the larger features. There has been more tweaks, minor features and general fixes than could possibly be listed, your patience has been rewarded!
