Calender

The Samjan use a semi-lunar calender a la the Hebrew calender. Days begin with sunset and end the following sunset. Weeks are 7 days long. Sunday is the first day of the week and Saturday the last. There are twelve months lasting a total of 354 days.

'Leap Months' are regularly added to the calender to ensure that holidays sync properly with the seasons. Should Mirtyu (Death) end before the beginning of spring, instead of the month being Janma (Birth) it will be Lamba Mirtyu (Long Death).
