  1. This is a pastebin describing the mechanics of Persona Quest. It used to contain information about AETHER, but that will be covered in a later document.

  13. Voting ends after eight to eleven minutes, depending on importance. You may choose more than one option, unless it includes a locked choice.

  15. Locked choices cannot be chosen and will only be available once the requirement has been met. Any votes choosing them will be ignored. No, you can't try and substitute using the custom option.

  18. [DICE ROLLS]
  19. -Uses a d20 system. 1 is a critfail and 20 a is crit.
  20. -Rolls are taken best out of three, unless stated otherwise. More than 1 dice may be rolled at a time.
  21. -A critfail and crit will cancel each other out.
  22. -Factors such as social stats, regular stats and abilities will affect the results of dice rolls.

  26. [PERSONAS]
  27. -Takashi's main advantage over other characters is his ability to equip and summon multiple Personas.
  28. -To prevent extraneous clutter in the threads, Personas cannot be fused or obtained via Shuffle Time. They are instead granted to Takashi from the Velvet Room when a Social Link is initiated or reaches a certain level. Most Personas will have low DEVELOPMENT POTENTIAL, meaning the best way to boost their performance is to level up Social Links.

  30. -Personas have varying weaknesses, strengths, skills and roles. Choose them wisely.

  33. [SOCIAL LINKS]
  34. -Social Links are representations of the bonds Takashi shares with others. Each one is based on a tarot of the Major Arcana. They begin at level 1 and max out at Level 10. As the power of the Wild Card comes the strength of one's bonds, levelling Social Links is crucial to progressing through the quest. Doing so will increase the strength of Personas and unlock additional ones in the Velvet Room.
  35. -Completing a Social Link will award the ultimate Persona of the respective Arcana.
  36. -Social Links can, however, be reversed if you do not spend time with the respective people holding the Link, end up booking two holiday invitations on one day, or gave an improper answer during their conversations. The reverse effect will also continue to last until Takashi reconciles with them. At some point a Social Link can even be broken, prohibiting Takashi from wielding Personas of the respective Arcana.

  38. -Broken Social Links cannot be repaired without going through a long and difficult process.
  39. -If someone dies, their Social Link will become Dead and obviously cannot progress. Any bonuses will still apply.
  40. -Social Stats and Social Links are tied together; some Social Links cannot progress or be initiated without a required level in a particular Social Stat.
  41. -Levelling the Social Links of party members will increase their combat performance.

  44. [SOCIAL STATS]
  45. -You have four social stats, which will allow you to do certain actions, activate Social Links, access alternate solutions to problems and more. Each one can be levelled up five times and doing so will be crucial to success. The requirement for each rank will be revealed when the rank below it has been achieved.

  47. UNDERSTANDING: The ability to empathize and sympathize with your fellow man. Unlocks dialogue choices and Social Links. Level order:
