  1. Hello Allan, and now Benedict!
  2.
  3. Got a bit of a quandary here, which I'll admit is mostly due to my lack of networking knowledge. I'm looking at moving into the NetOps team where I work currently, so I'm on a bit of a crash course to get up to speed. I've loved the concept of jails and even set up a couple of them on beth FreeBSD and DragonFly BSD, but in both situations I'm having trouble connecting the jail to the network.

  5. I know that jails share the NIC, and use an IP address alias, but does the alias have to be a valid address on the same network as the host? Would it be possible to set up the host in a way that allowed it to effectively behave as a router between some networked jails on their own network and the office LAN? I know this is probably more difficult than I'd be able to pull off at this time, but I think the combination of ZFS/HAMMER, jails, and the Linuxulator(tm) can really improve how things work at my company, I just need some direction/documentation to point me in the right direction, so I can actually show the higher-ups how much better things can be.
