Though wounded, the innkeeper Alfred has brought you lot a series of healing herbs donated by grateful villagers, and you were given some peace to rest, recovering your injuries and wounds. You even had some time to go off and catch some people, or... neat rocks.
[15:48] <@SuikoGM> In any case, though, you were paid the 6000 potch bounty - that's 1500 each - and Garm got back to your group on the corpse that had been reanimated by the golem earlier.
[15:51] <@SuikoGM> It seems the unfortunate mercenary was carrying memorabilia that marked him as a former member of the White Wolves, a band of mercs whose name has been coming up pretty often recently. Amalthea mentioned a group of mercenaries that took over an old highwayman's fort somewhere nearby, so it's possible the man came from near there. Something to investigate later, maybe. Whatever the case,

[15:53] <@SuikoGM> I'm sure the lot of you are quite eager to get underway to find the next demon on your list: The Metathorn. Sparing you the rolls this time, the four of you manage to find out that it lives in the deep parts of the Cheshire Woods, where you fought the golem, and seems to be attracted by the sounds of sawing wood. The creature has been nuisancing the Grove's lumberjacks for the past few

[15:55] <TsukinoshiNoKatsuo> Katsuo asks around if there's any kind of explosives or Fire Scrolls anyone has around here that he could make use of.
[15:56] <@SuikoGM> People tend to be rather careful with that sort of thing. There isn't much for sale in the town apart from an expensive Fire Rune. Buuuut...
[15:57] <@SuikoGM> There's two people you could consult about explosives. Amalthea used some rather powerful charges during her spelunking adventure, and Iltani's teammate Bernard seems to be learned about them.

[16:03] <@SuikoGM> You guys go off to find Bernard, then. He's holed up in a different inn room at the moment. He's sitting on the floor of his room with a Litleo in a bucket of water, trying to scrub the creature with a brush. The pokemon isn't having any of it, despite being covered in purple goop. Water is everywhere. When you all enter, both Bernard and his cat stop squabbling to look up.

[16:06] <TsukinoshiNoKatsuo> "Ah, yes.  I am wanting explosives of the sort that can be triggered by pressure or a tripwire, for setting up a trap."
[16:06] <Iltani> "I am, however, curious as to what happened here."
[16:07] <@SuikoGM> "Ambushed by something weird. Thought it was a demon we were looking for at first, but no Tension. Spewed gunk all over Machelo and fled after it got a good look at us."

[16:08] <@SuikoGM> "Like... a snake. With legs."
[16:08] <TsukinoshiNoKatsuo> "...troubling."
[16:09] <Somalakshmi> "A snake with legs... we'll keep an eye out then."
[16:09] <@SuikoGM> Cornell pops up around now, as well, quietly blending in.

[16:10] <@SuikoGM> Euphie looks confused. What on earth would that look like?
[16:11] <@SuikoGM> "...Anyway. The explosives."
[16:11] <TsukinoshiNoKatsuo> Katsuo in his pondering looks at Euphie, pauses a moment, then shakes his head.
[16:12] <@SuikoGM> "You want to make a trap?" He lets go of Machelo, who sprints out from under the tub, tracking water everywhere, and hides under the bed.
[16:12] <@SuikoGM> He then dries his hands and starts rummaging through tools.
[16:13] <@SuikoGM> "How big we talking, here?"
[16:13] <TsukinoshiNoKatsuo> "The Metathorn."
[16:14] <@SuikoGM> He glances up. "..."
[16:14] <@SuikoGM> He then looks at Iltani. "Why did you get the fun ones?"
[16:14] <Somalakshmi> "Fun ones?"
06[16:15] * Lekha considerschasing Machelo, but then thinks better of it.
[16:17] <Iltani> "This is a matter of far more than simple fun."
[16:18] <Iltani> "But if you want to consider this fun, well, you're involved now."
[16:19] <@SuikoGM> He puts his things away and pulls out a separate bag containing some of his higher-grade stuff, before removing a bag of white powder and a strange, flat metal object. He fills object with the powder, then carefully seals both it and the powder bag.
[16:20] <@SuikoGM> He carefully hands it over to Katsuo. "This has a ring located here, on the side. Once you pull it, this mine becomes sensitive to pressure, and will detonate when depressed."
[16:21] <TsukinoshiNoKatsuo> "Got it."
[16:21] <TsukinoshiNoKatsuo> "I will handle it with care."
[16:22] <Iltani> "I'm guessing you've other things to attend to, if you're not coming with us."
[16:23] <@SuikoGM> "Unfortunately. Once I get Machelo cleaned, it's back to the field."
[16:23] <TsukinoshiNoKatsuo> "May the spirits favor you, then."
[16:23] <@SuikoGM> "Merydia isn't as fun to tease when you're not around." he grunts.
01[16:24] <Lekha> "So, what's in that, anyway?"
[16:24] <@SuikoGM> "Uh, yeah, you too."
[16:25] <TsukinoshiNoKatsuo> "Science."
01[16:25] <Lekha> "That's a dumb answer."
[16:25] <TsukinoshiNoKatsuo> "...science I do not quite understand, but science nonetheless."
[16:25] <@SuikoGM> "It's a powder the Carthans called 'morning star' because it glows when exposed to air. When used the right way, it inflicts a nasty burn with no flames."
[16:26] <@SuikoGM> "Or thick smoke, depending."
[16:26] <Iltani> "Hm."
06[16:26] * Iltani sees if she can coax the Litleo out with less trouble, and lets out the Vulpix she just caught.
[16:26] <TsukinoshiNoKatsuo> "Interesting."
[16:27] <@SuikoGM> The vulpix yips and starts wagging her tails, scrunching under the bed.
[16:27] <@SuikoGM> Machelo flees out the other way and Bernard picks the cat up by the scruff like nothing happened, before continuing to wash him. The vulpix trots over as well, sniffing the cat.
[16:29] <@SuikoGM> "Vuuuull?" Machelo is frightened, his ears dropping, but he holds absolutely still in that bucket. The Vulpix stays back a bit, not wanting to get wet either, but she seems to want to get friendly.
[16:29] <Iltani> "Have you considered clamping a loose clip on his scruff?"
[16:31] <@SuikoGM> "...Maaybe."
[16:31] <Iltani> "Might have the same effect while freeing up a hand."
01[16:31] <Lekha> "Or you could just bribe him."

06[16:32] * Iltani crouches down, and clicks her tongue twice to call the Vulpix over.
[16:32] <@SuikoGM> The vulpix takes that cue to bound over and lick your hands.
06[16:33] * Iltani looks into the six-tailed fox's eyes for a few moments, considering something in silence.
[16:33] <Iltani> "Hm."
[16:33] <Iltani> "Amihan."
[16:33] <Somalakshmi> "That's what you're naming it?"
[16:33] <@SuikoGM> Bernard, in the meantime, scoots over a little to his pack and produces a small cookie he'd been hiding among his rations, and breaks a piece off for the cat.
[16:34] <Iltani> "Northeast tradewind known to the Carthans. It's a fine enough name, I feel."
[16:35] <Somalakshmi> "I suppose I should let that one I caught before out as well."
01[16:35] <Lekha> "Um, as much as I like getting to know everyone.."
[16:35] <Somalakshmi> "Better to get acquainted before we have to fight."

06[16:43] * Somalakshmi introduces Kabab to his new name and informs him that he should be ready to enter a world of BATTLE which is why she chose him.
[16:43] <@SuikoGM> Kabab looks around and stretches. He still has an intense sort of look in his eyes, but he's not nearly as ornery as before.
[16:44] <@SuikoGM> When Soma mentions BATTLE, he punches the air a few times enthusiastically.
06[16:44] * Lekha names the Lazli Armilla, etc
[16:45] <@SuikoGM> Raiden gives off an unsure beep and looks around. His body crackles with electricity slightly and he lifts his arms up, several metallic grinding noises being caused in the process. A slit on his face opens and there's something like a yawn. He then sort of jerks and stands at attention.
[16:45] <@SuikoGM> Armilla can't really do much but flap her flippers, but flap them she does, clapping along with the large group of companions she's made! :D
[16:46] <TsukinoshiNoKatsuo> "Good, Raiden."  He gives the bot an awkward sort of pat and a nod.  "Stay...on standby for now.  I may need you later."
06[16:46] * Lekha leans in to get a better look at Raiden.
[16:46] <@SuikoGM> Raiden. The golem registers the name, then gives a dorky salute. ...Though he salutes so fast that he momentarily loses his balance and falls backwards.
[16:47] <@SuikoGM> He flails his stubby little arms and legs a moment before righting himself and standing at attention again, nervously crackling.
[16:48] <@SuikoGM> The rest of you quickly take care of some business - Katsuo with the charmander rune, Soma with the Lightning Rune, and then you're on your way with Cornell.
01[16:48] <Lekha> "It's like one of those dolls you can push over and they right themselves up again."
[16:48] <TsukinoshiNoKatsuo> Before they leave for the forest, Katsuo goes off and buys himself a CHARMANDER RUNE, and then gets it applied to his Right Arm...and to Raiden.

[17:14] <@SuikoGM> The Metathorn appears from the north! A massive, four-legged creature resembling a metagross, but with plant-like barbs growing from its body and the weary gaze of a ferrothorn.
[17:15] <@SuikoGM> When it sees Katsuo with the saw, it lets out a shriek like the sound of metal grinding on metal within your very mind.

These scramble brambles are Slow Terrain that grow in the directions they're facing, increasing in length by 1 square for each Seed currently up. Walking through brambles without Naturewalk (Forest or Wetlands) takes one tick of damage and is inflicted with Bleeding, which does 5 damage at the end of your
