- The Earth Kingdom Times:
- How about a side story about the press?
- For example, after some chapters happen, two newsprinting companies, one EK and one FN, run different takes on the same event (a previous chapter, or maybe a full series recap like Ember Island Players), playing up the events to comedic effect. We see reporters on both sides, fan outcry, office romance, and another perspective on the events of the story.
- The Rival:
- >A crystalbender tries to beat the Avatar at his own game, appearing to try and fight him. Appears more than one time. First time leads to Shen going into the Avatar State for the first time
- The Boozebenders
- The Bar:
- >Early in the adventure, Team Avatar goes to a bar and pals around with a group of guys and gals. At the end of the episode, it is revealed that this group is the Suicide Squad (who still need a real group name.)
- S3 Road Trip:
- since after S2 the gang breaks out of prison but has no connections and the world is in even more chaos, and the UER knows they've escape, how about we have them travel by somthing like Lee's souped up car for the first half of S3
- have a road trip where they have to be low-key, visit towns and see the disarray the impending war has on townsfolk, camping out in random forests and the like to avoid being spotted, and having to fight through UER security checkpoints
- Omashu Vice(or something I just made something up to put here):
- LEE'S CONNECTIONS: a maverick buddy cop duo, they assist Team Avatar as per Lee's advice
- Original poster on Buddy Cops. Thought up some potential names.
- Impulsive, Aggressive Firebender Detective Haut.
- By The Book Waterbender Detective Kohld.
- They're Haut and Kohld. They Fight Crime!
- And assist Lee and The Avatar.
- Nightmares and Brainwashing:
- >I think the brainwashing should get somewhere, with him having a myriad of hallucinations about his goals, if he'll fail, whoever he's romantically interested in, becoming out of touch with his culture, the impending war, and the stuggle between raava and vaatu inside him; Korra can help him get out of it.
- Spirit World Frontier:
- Spirit World Frontier, people!
- Set entire series in Spirit World! People routinely now travel between the two worlds via Republic City spirit portal, but main colonization is still close to portals.
- Shen and tribe grow up in Spirit World Desert, far away from society. Team Avatar is somewhat removed from the Civil War itself, but still having a large influence on events via their actions in the Spirit World. Maybe go to real world in later books? I dunno.
- Additionally, just a random idea thrown out in another thread. A post-apocalyptic world, ravaged by Spirit Bombs.
- Lonely Man and Spirit:
- That ruins the whole omg it's the Avatar master of all four elements bridge between the worlds. Also you can't bend two elements. I'm pretty sure Rava said you would die, if you didn't have a spirit partner to combine with.
- >lonely spirit and lonely man combine, he can bend two elements now
- >spirit isn't near as powerful as Rava and something goes wrong
- >did he just die, it was a big unclear
- >yes he did die
- >don't get in over your head moral, sad episode >still good episode
- THe Pit Fighter:
- Idea: Shen rescued Asuza when he was younger. She was originally used in pit fights, like giant versions of those bug fights that Japanese people do.
- Knife Bitch:
- >Knife Bitch appears in Book One when they stop somewhere in the earth kingdom (Ba Sing Se?)
- >The group splits up to get supplies, Kim and Poi go to town, Bayar takes a nap, Shen explores the city
- >A girl in sandbender attire is being chased by some guards in town, Shen decides to help
- >After saving her, she reveals to be a girl on pilgramige in her tribe
- >The two talk and relate for a day (You can ship them if you want here too, it doesn't matter), but Knife Bitch has to continue her journey
- >Gives him a carved sandstone trinket she made for him and leaves
- >Shen waves and laments a little bit but goes back to the ship
- >Bayar is with Asuza, Shen goes up to them
- >Bayar freaks out when he sees the carving and asks him where he got it
- >The carving is of the sworn enemy of their tribe
- >Bayar starts losing his shit asking if he gave here information and the like, Shen gets freaked out
- >Bayar storms out mumbling something about" should never have left the desert", Shen feels that he's getting further and further from his brother
- >End scene is the girl traveling and sending a carrier pigeon
- THE SWAMP:
- Full story: http://pastebin.com/8aJtnrCC
- The Flood:
- >Stop for a rest in some town in the south, has a lot of waterbenders that have migrated over
- >Poi gets excited about seeing other waterbenders, since she doesn't see too many of them that don't attack
- >They go and chill with the waterbenders, Poi tries to practice with them, but her big, loud, waterbending style, and her clumsyness, makes her a laughtingstock
- >Poi starts feeling bad, begins to think she is weak
- >Shit happens that requires a flood, maybe a gang of drive by firebenders set the down ablaze a-la Kyoshi Island style
- >Poi uses her brute boom crash waterbending to flood and save the place
- >Realizes she is a good waterbender
- >Makes a pact to herself that she's going to become good enough to be Shen's waterbending teacher
- Shi Peng:
- There's a writer in the Avatar universe who writes romance novels about famous avatars. Most of his stories are exaggerated and melodramatic, but the public eats them up.
- His name is Shi Peng.
- The team needs to do research in a library, but all they can find is fucking Shi Peng.
- Yangchen celebration festival:
- One of the temples has gone on pilgrimage to Yangchen's festival (or what became of it during the Rift)
- ASUZA:
- Asuza story idea:
- >Asuza makes a huge display of strength in non-combat
- >Kim realizes how strong Asuza is and wants her to fight for the group
- >Shen objects, thinks Asuza hates fighting
- >Flashbacks to Shen meeting Asuza, rescuing her from her life as a pit fighter
- >In the climax it's learned that Asuza WANTS to fight when it comes to helping Shen
