Chapter 5 - True Smile

==65: Everyone's Distance==
65-1: Incident Resolution!?
[~Shinjugamine Girls School: Director's Office~]
Regarding the attack on the f*f concert by the new Irous, the crowd is not making a fuss about it as they have no recollection of the incident
However, Evina has disappeared since then. Director wonders where she could've gone in such a situation...
There's various noteworthy research Fulan heard from the students. Unbelievable that the true form of the new Irous are humans...
Also, that they can become that way by amplifying a weakness in their heart... The Hoshimori were able to achieve further development but...
It means the people's hearts can lean toward either. And if they aren't completely careful too...
Sensei asks if this means they need to resolve the issue at once. All of the affected girls were able to return home safely...
No, it's not safe yet. The mysterious organism causing people to change to the new Irous, Alulu's identity...
And the source of f*f's powers... The incident will not be concluded until these mysteries are resolved
Itsuki agrees, especially those two f*f girls...
Fulan asks why they have the same power as Hoshimori despite never receiving the blessing from Shinju. Itsuki suggests they go ask Kanon and Shiho about it
Previously, they said how they were attacked by the new Irous, had heard someone talk to them, and had their powers awoken but... There's nothing else aside from that...
Fulan didn't see anything abnormal for their physical examination either. Sensei notes they'll need another clue to follow...
It doesn't seem like they've talked with people related to the girls. There's only one that comes to mind...
Of course, their homeroom teacher at Kanadenomiya Girls Institute. Itsuki points out the Director hasn't formally met her.
Botan left meeting her to Itsuki due to needing to persuade the board of directors. Itsuki describes her as someone with deep interests and knew details about Irous...
She was always supporting the two girls of f*f with battling and everyday life. Quite the brilliant teacher.
But it doesn't seem like she's shown everything to the girls. An impression that as a kind person she has a line that could be pulled from somewhere...
For now, Botan will greet her and have a detailed discussion. With Nanashima Aoi-sensei

65-4: Wherever Your Heart Is
(Shiho)
"We, were guided by a mysterious voice to obtain the same... no an even greater power than the Hoshimori"
"While still fumbling about, we fought Irous, and around that time..."
(An Irous is struck down) Kanon says this area should be fine now.
Kanon had asked Aoi-chan about the new Irous, and she was shown very interesting data...
She shows Shiho. The locations where girls disappear and the location where the new Irous show up are...!
They seem to be closely related don't they? Shiho asks if they're willing to investigate this.
They can't just leave it be like this! They can't rely on the Hoshimori who haven't noticed these incidents...
Kanon assures Shiho that they can handle it.

Shiho is wondering what would be good to do... Kanon-chan really wants to be involved but...

There's a flash of light and she's back
Shiho: "Disappeared..."

  Kanon: "Great... Shiho is going to lend me her strength"
         "Let's continue to do our best together from here out!"
(Shiho): "There's some anxiety but, since it makes Kanon-chan happy..."

 Kanon:
"Whatever, I'm not saying it to correct it..."

"During the concert, you honestly helped. Also..."

    Anko: "I wonder if these peaceful days will continue for a while...?"

[She experiences a sharp pain, twice...]

66-1: Tomorrow's Important...
 Shiho: "That is..."
 Kanon: "Shiho, thanks for everything until now"
 Shiho: "Where are you going, Kanon-chan..."
Kanon leaves with Urara
 Shiho: "PLEASE, DON'T LEAVE ME!"
        "Wait... Hey, wait..."
        "KANON-CHAN!"

[Slam!]
Shiho is panting
It was a dream. Why is she having this dream...

[... ... ...] At the school gate
Sadone says bye to Kanon and Shiho! Kanon says bye.
Kanon is humming♪ She's getting used to Shinjugamine Girl's School
She's not quite used to the facilities but it isn't bad for what's here. Shiho agrees...
Kanon asks her what's wrong, she doesn't seem well recently...
 Shiho:
"Kanon-chan, actually..."
"......"
"Ended up staying up late a bit yesterday..."
 Kanon:
"I see... if so that's fine but..."
"So then, you're good for tomorrow?"
 Shiho: "Tomorrow...?"
 Kanon:
"HEY! You didn't really forget did you?"
"Tomorrow is, um... Our... important..."
"Important... anniversary"
 Shiho: "Eh?"
 Kanon: "H-HORA! The day I invited Shiho to be an idol"
 Shiho: "Ah...!"
 Kanon:
"Geez! Even though we've celebrated every year, am I the only one looking forward to it!?"
"There's been a lot of commotion this time..."
"I have something important to talk about, and it's been a while so I wanted to spend time alone with just the two of us"
"...maybe not?"
 Shiho:

"Where are we going!? An appointment in Shibuya!?"

 Kanon: "You're s-suddenly excited"
 Shiho giggles: "I somehow became completely excited"
 Kanon:
"Yeah, of course Shiho's smile is a relief"
"So, see you tomorrow. I'll contact you about it later" she leaves
 Shiho: "Yeah, later~"

Kanon's phone rings... it's a phone call from the office.
She answers, but she's surprised by the conversation

66-4: Each Other's Future
[~Production Office~]
 Kanon:
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY SOLO ACTIVITIES?!?"
"I believe I've already refused that subject before!"
The manager informs her that they've already started work on the project. And based on what they've heard from Kanon recently...
Out of consideration of Shiho, Kanon has asked the choreographer to reduce the difficulty of the dancing.
 Kanon: "T-That's..."
In a short while, they'll have a solo song focused on Kanon's dancing... And intend to prepare a performance for Shiho focused on Shiho's singing
Of course they don't intend to have them working together until each other's mutual results are left
 Kanon: "That's...!"
f*f changes the world, which is what Kanon had said right?

Shiho is humming to herself

"Going out with Kanon-chan, just the two of us after such a long time..."

[~Shibuya: In front of the crosswalk~]
 Kanon sighs...
"Ended up not being able to sleep and came rather early"
"There's a lot going on but, that preparation is perfect..."

"There's quite a lot of time until we arranged to meet but..."

Kanon: "Aoi-chan!"

  Aoi: "They said they wanted to ask about a topic, so they called me out to Shinjugamine School~♪"

Shiho giggles:
"Was looking forward to it too much so ended up coming rather early"
"Ah, over there is..."
"Hey~, Kanon-chan..."
 Kanon: "I CAN BE AN IDOL BY MYSELF!"
 Shiho: "...Eh?"
 Kanon: "So it's not that solo activities in itself is impossible..."
 Shiho: "Solo... activities...?"
[She feels a sharp pain!]
[Wonder if Kanon-sama won't come out with a solo single soon~]
[If she releases one, would definitely buy it!]

"Hey, listen! Aoi-chan is being mean..."

[She runs off!]

[It's pouring out...]
 Shiho:
"...it's raining" (quietly)
"But, it's perfect for me now...?"
"I wonder if I was going to be abandoned like this..."
[There's a sharp pain!]
"No! I wouldn't expect Kanon-chan to do that..."
[The sharp pain continues!]

"...what in the world is going on"
   Aoi: "Shiho, are you okay?"
 Shiho: "Aoi-sensei...!"

A nearby man screams, there's another one of him!? A woman screams about her body...!
 Shiho: "These screams are...!"

 Alulu snickers: "Good, good.."
        "IT'S FINE TO LET OUT ALL THAT YOU'VE ACCUMULATED!"
 Shiho: "You...! You're changing people into new Irous again!?"
 Alulu: "Tch, again with the imposing...?"
 Shiho: "Any more and... I'll... stop..."
 she gasps...
 Alulu:
"What's this, your distinguished condition seems poor?"
"Despite not being a Hoshimori, and only working too hard, perhaps your limit has come?"

Shiho is struggling!
Kanon: "Stop! If you do any more than this...!"
Shiho: "LET GO!"
There's a flash of light
Kanon screams!
[She collapses!]
(Kanon): "..."
  Shiho: "Ah!"
         "Why did I..."
Kanon is hurting...
 Shiho: "Kanon-chan... hang in there..."
 Kanon: "......"
 Shiho: "Kanon-chan..."
        "KANON-CHAN!"

67-4: To Pursue
[~Hospital~]
Miki is panting. Asuha asks about Kanon's condition.
Shiho explains she's been completely unconscious.
Urara asks why. Kanokano-senpai told her it's their anniversary...
She was really looking forward to playing with Shihotchi-senpai...
Shiho starts to explain but stops! And leaves
(Shiho): "I don't want to be asked anything!"
Miki says they have to chase her! But Kanon winces...
Haruka points out Kanon-san's eyes are opening...! Miki asks Kanon-san if she knows where she is.
Kanon:
"This is..."
"...Shiho... Shiho is...?"
Kaede tells her Shiho-senpai just left outside
Kanon tries to get up and leaves!
Kurumi asks her to wait, she can't move yet. Miki yells out to Kanon-san!

Kanon:
"Shiho, your state was clearly strange..."
"...It's my fault"
"Recently, even though she seemed to be in a poor mood, I didn't try to ask her to talk about it..."

Kanon is panting...
"If, Shiho was going somewhere now..."
"......"
"Today is our anniversary..."
"In that case, surely she's there...!"

[Trip!]

[She falls!]

"My body still isn't following..."
"C'MON... WHAT ARE YOU DOING! MOVE! MY LEG!"
"I don't have time to be stopped here..."

(Kanon)
"SHIHO! WHERE ARE YOU!"
"LET'S GO BACK! TOGETHER!"
"TO WHERE EVERYONE IS!"
Shiho:
"Everyone..."
[She feels a sharp pain!]
"Why is this so painful?"
"Just being together with Kanon-chan, that's enough for me..."

"Would've been better off if I didn't desire anything..."
"That day, would've been better if I didn't try to show courage..."
"Like when I was a child... Without having anyone notice, and handled it quietly..."
"Hurt feelings and the suffering too..."
"And wouldn't have made cherished people suffer..."

[-She throws down her hairpin]
Shiho screams!
(Kanon): "SHIHO!"
Shiho continues screaming!
[Something starts brooding...]
(Kanon):
"WHA!?"
"The sky, is covered with Irous..."
[She collapses!]
Kanon yelps!
"Shiho is... where did you go!? SHIHO!"
Shiho is laughing
  Kanon: "W-What is this... what does... this mean..."
(Kanon): "Shiho...?"
  Shiho: "...At last, you've put on a smile"
         "The truth... within me has"

Shiho:

"The truth... within me has"
"Would've been better to accompany me even earlier... The honest voice of my heart"
 Kanon:
"SHIHO! What happened!?"
"This is... an illusion?"
  Aoi: "No, it's reality, you're not confused"
Kanon: "AOI-CHAN!"
  Aoi:
"Well? Don't you think it's beautiful?"
"That girl, has broken from the chains restraining herself, and released her true self"
"The planted seed has finally blossomed into a flower..."
Kanon: "What... are you saying..."
       "Aoi...sensei..."
  Aoi:
"Aoi-sensei?"
"I've always~been watching over you two but"
"Here we say farewell"
