  1. it's from the book "how not to rule the world" not sure which year.. but it says:
  2.
  3. "Imagine"
  4.
  5. Imagine you're an alien who traveled countless light years with a spaceship and start to approach our planet earth. It's your mission to explore this planet and contact its residents in order to exchange knowledge and information of any kind. Once all of this proceeds positively, and if you are convinced by the honesty and peaceableness of the residents, planet earth could be part of the intergalactic federation. In lieu thereof, it would be possible to contact residents of other planets, which would allow a vital development of the mortal's consciousness as well as a development in areas of technology and health care.
  6.
  7. After entering the earth's orbit, you turn on your monitor in order to detect approximate broadcast waves. You promptly discover a news channel, which reports current events on planet earth. You will then realise that you're dealing with a rather martial planet in which the residents do not, as you would expect, fight against a hostile planet since centuries, but kill each other instead.
  8.
  9. At first sight, you realise that there is no concept behind these wars because some fight due to their beliefs, others because of their skin colour. There are some who aren't satisfied with the size of their country, others only have money in their mind. Overall, everyone cares about themselves. You realise that this planet is not even mature enough for the information and technology that you were willing to offer. It wouldn't matter in which country you would land; your gifts would not be used for the welfare and well-being of all residents, but rather used for the self-centred interest of the country's leaders.
  10.
  11. You start thinking about the past of your own home and the time when your planet had wars too. However, since these wars happened over a thousand years ago and you don't want to experience the same scenarios again, and on top of that you realise that a few missiles were fired in the direction of your spaceship, you very quickly come to the conclusion that you would rather want to visit a different planet.
