  1. [After Calipso asks about what being Consanguine is really like, noting that she feels some regret every time she dies and has to pray to the Death God to be brought back to life]
  2.
  3. You have emoted: A subtle sneer crawls across Ezalor's face as he regards you. "The Death God," he says softly, "We have conquered death. It is an obsolete relic, an unneeded hindrance from a bygone time. Why waste your words there?"
  4.
  5. Seven-Hand Calipso says, "Because it is part of what first created me. One would think they should continue upon this regime."
  6.
  7. You have emoted: Ezalor waves a hand dismissively. "What first created you? The cycle of life and death, you mean? Why bother with it. Break the cycle, set yourself outside it. Above it. What is there to gain in the fragile, pathetic state known as life?"
  8.
  9. Seven-Hand Calipso says, "Balance perhaps..perhaps."
  10.
  11. Calipso tilts her head curiously.
  12.
  13. Seven-Hand Calipso says, "Tell me, what if everyone broke from this cycle? what then?"
  14.
  15. You have emoted: With a soft nod, Ezalor smiles at your question. "Aye, just as the king can only flourish with commoners to reign, so too do we exist alongside the living. We do not recreate, do not reproduce. Our function is to elevate those worthy to the Blood of Nobility. The cattle are necessary still, yes, but why willingly count yourself among them? You are not a stupid sort. That existence is for the weak, the blind, the foolish."
  16.
  17. Calipso nods her head sagely.
  18.
  19. Calipso stands up slowly, walking towards the window to gaze at the view outside. She turns her head in your direction slightly as she says "I have grown so accustomed to the me I am now. How can one ever decide to leave that behind for something unknown and alien to them? Something not them now."
  20.
  21. You have emoted: Ezalor's eyes follow your movements. Without a sound, you find him suddenly standing beside you, joining in your observation. "Do you fear change then, mortal? You were not always Seven-Hand Calipso. You were not always the self-proclaimed Queen of Hashan. Change comes to us all; it is a fool's errand to fear it. What is left to you is to seize the power to shape change how you see fit, to bend it to your will."
  22.
  23. Calipso whispers "Bend it to my will.."
  24.
  25. Seven-Hand Calipso says, "It seems I am called away.."
  26.
  27. You have emoted: Ezalor nods softly. "I did not take you for a stupid sort. In time, hopefully, you will see the folly in the farce called life."
  28.
  29. Calipso starts walking towards the door, before stopping in her tracks.
  30.
  31. Seven-Hand Calipso says, "Yes..I am afraid."
  32.
  33. Calipso continues to stare away from you as she says "Not of change..no, but of losing myself. I am a bright girl with a good future ahead of me..what I would become is unknown to me".
  34.
  35. Sighing, Seven-Hand Calipso says, "But my form is weak..in this world with its destruction and that fool hunting me down...I am not sure how long I can go on."
  36.
  37. You say, "And what do mortals fear above all? Death. The knowledge that one day, at the whim of some obsolete Divinity, they will fade into nothingness. Their name, their legacy churned into dust by the wheel of time. A good future...what we can offer is an eternal future. Centuries, millenia to carve your name in brimstone and fire, never to be forgotten. Never to fade."
  38.
  39. Seven-Hand Calipso says, "A higher state of being.."
  40.
  41. Calipso turns to face you slowly.
  42.
  43. You have emoted: Ezalor scratches his hair idly, a glazed sheen covering his blue eyes as he drifts in thought. "So many mistake what the Consanguine are," he mutters, half to himself, "They think us predators. Killers. The words I have heard to describe us...grace. Power. Immortality." His gaze sharpens abruptly, eyes widening slightly as he turns his stare to you, "These are mere byproducts of what we -truly- are. We are Blood. The Blood of Nobility, the Blood of kings. It is our birthright to rule this world, to bend the commoners and sheep to our will. So yes, a higher state of being you could call it."
  44.
  45. Calipso blinks slowly, hearing words unfamiliar to her.
  46.
  47. Seven-Hand Calipso says, "I had not heard this before."
  48.
  49. You have emoted: Ezalor smiles wryly, amusement dancing in his eyes. "The teachings of our Primus are not spread to all. After all, a king does, in the end, require subjects and commoners to rule over. But do not mistake us for the mere vampires you hear in your stories. Zsarachnor was a vampire. Mihail is a vampire. Those Gifted from the Primus are not mere vampires, we are Consanguine. The Noble elite of this existence."
  50.
  51. Seven-Hand Calipso smiles and says, "The blood of a Queen."
  52.
  53. Seven-Hand Calipso says, "Do you believe me worthy of joining the upper echelons of society?"
  54.
  55. You have emoted: Ezalor's eyes narrow at the words, brow furrowing slightly. "Once it was so, yes, but she proved herself too weak to continue her rule. The Primus is our Source now." He taps a chin idly with a finger, boring into you with an intense, considering stare. "There is much potential in you, yes. But know that the path is not an easy one; we will reshape you. Reforge you through hard work and servitude, hammer away the weaknesses and imperfections of your being. To prepare your body and mind for the ultimate Gift, should you prove yourself worthy."
  56.
  57. Calipso nods her head sagely.
  58.
  59. Seven-Hand Calipso smiles and says, "Perhaps we should go."
  60.
  61. Seven-Hand Calipso says, "I need some time to mull over things."
