[18:22] <@Valetni> With the runway damaged, takeoff was more interesting than usual, but all of you made it into the air without much difficulty. Without the ever present voice of Spirit Guide, the journey is relatively silent, in no small part thanks to your reduced flight size. Before long you're feet wet and approaching the island target.

[18:25] * Australis_3-1 sighs and opens communication. "Nadir, this is Apogee 1, pleasure to be in the air with you."
[18:25] * Cavalier_3-3 flies beside Australis, at a fast and steady pace, remaining quiet as his jet soars on through the skies. He hasn't talked much, apart from transmitting actual, necessary data.
[18:26] * Cosmo_4-1 glances down to the water, enjoying the view as they pass. "Apogee 1, this is Nadir 1, it's a pleasure to be back in our element. What's your flight outfitted with for this operation?"
[18:33] <Australis_3-1> "We've got Rockets and IR missiles on my bird, Cavalier is packing 2 Bombs, 8 rockets, and a pair of missiles."
[18:35] <Australis_3-1> "What's your ordinance, nadir?"
[18:35] <Cosmo_4-1> "Roger that, 3-1. I'm outfitted with mostly bombs, CBUs and M117s. Strix has his missiles and a few bombs. I'm thinkin' that our priority will be to take out that radar, and then those emplacements. What're you thinking?
[18:35] <Cosmo_4-1> "
[18:37] * Strix_4-2 glances over his controls, checking for any abnormalities. "Nadir 2 here, I have two good Yukto-made overkill bombs on my wings."
[18:39] * Australis_3-1 glances over her Radar and checks the horizon for enemy aircraft. "Roger that, level the radar then hit the SAMs. Sounds good. Lets hit back for last night."
[18:40] <Cavalier_3-3> "Copy that, Apogee Lead."
[18:40] <Cosmo_4-1> "Solid copy."

[18:43] <@Valetni> Ahead of you, Belaro island breaks up the monotony of the sea. With the Radar based on the highest point, the rest of the Island is layed out like a giant +. To the left and right are the protected AShM batteries, with the docks making the southmost tip, and the barracks on the north side of the island. The two XSAM batteries are lower on the island, in line with the AShM batteries and the Radar.

[18:45] <Cavalier_3-3> "We're making a beeline straight for the radar, lead?"
[18:48] <Australis_3-1> "Roget That Apogee 3, once the radar is down break and hit secondary targets."
[18:48] <Cavalier_3-3> "Understood."
[18:52] * Cavalier_3-3 approaches at a high speed still. Unsure of the range of his rockets, he elects on firing a salvo of two rockets, before immediatelly swerving left to rejoin his flight.

[18:53] <@Valetni> One rocket slams into the ground short of the target, throwing up a cloud of dirt. The other one flies true, embedding itself into the concrete base of the revolving radar, blowing out chunks of hardened concrete but failing to destroy the radar.

[18:54] <Cavalier_3-3> "Damn - I hit it, but the structure's still standing! It's tough!"
[18:55] <Strix_4-2> "Well, maybe some prime Yuktobanian engineering could help that."
[19:02] * Australis_3-1 Swoops down to line up a shot on the Radar, maintaining her high speed, and looses six smaller rockets from under her left wing before returning to her position in the flight.

[19:02] <@Valetni> The majority of the rockets sail past the radar station. However two manage to catch the the rotating dish low in it's superstructure. Combined with the previous damage from Cavalier's large Zuni rocket, the entire dish rips free of its moorings, crashing over to the ground in a cacophony of twisted metal.

[19:03] <Strix_4-2> "Nice job! That was quick, Apogee."
[19:03] <Cavalier_3-3> "Excellent shot, lead! That's what I call teamwork!"
[19:04] * Australis_3-1 speaks into her comm with barely contained excitment. "Alright, lets get to the real work."
[19:09] * Cosmo_4-1 lowers her altitude, soaring past the disabled radar. She does a sharp turn, moving for one of the missile batteries. "Bombs away," she says, dropping two of her M117s from their rack. She quickly attempts to turn away, but his hit by a jarring buzz from one of the light cannons. "Fucker!" she growls to herself.
[19:09] <Cavalier_3-3> "Nadir Lead - you okay?"

[19:10] <@Valetni> Both of the demolition bombs drop from the rack, impacting almost directly on the AShM launcher. The four missiles stored in the boxed detonate, sending a small fireball into the sky.

[19:10] <Cosmo_4-1> "Affirmative, all good here. I should be able to continue."
[19:14] <Strix_4-2> "Cosmo, pull out a sec, I'm about to cause an earthquake. Hopefully an accurate one."
[19:17] * Strix_4-2 dips down, loosing a bomb towards the AA gun. As if God himself was not allowing the AA gun to be destroyed, the 1000lb bomb completely misses it, and returns fire at the MiG21, dealing considerable damage.

[19:17] <@Valetni> The large unguided bomb sails off the wing, and drops on a terminal course directly into the ocean next to the battery, sinking beneath the surface and exploding with a spectacular, but ultimately ineffective, waterspout.

[19:18] <Cosmo_4-1> "Yeah, uh, maybe the tsunami you kick up from that will wash it away, Strix."
[19:18] <Strix_4-2> "You weren't praying for my accuracy, Cosmo."
[19:25] * Cosmo_4-1 rolls her eyes, making her own way towards the undamaged battery. She slowly flies over, letting loose two CBUs on the still-alive AA guns that are protecting the battery. "Bombs away, for real this time."

[19:26] <@Valetni> The two bombs drop from the slow moving aircraft, spinning as they do so, releasing their bomblets to cover the two anti aircraft nests protecting the final targets. As nearly 500 bomblets erupt (less duds), the two weapons are wiped out.

[19:28] * Cosmo_4-1 lets out a sigh of frustration as he craft is now visibly wounded by anti-air. "Fuck, looks like I'm gonna have to steer clear here, 4-2."
[19:28] <Cavalier_3-3> "Moving in to wipe up that battery, Nadir Lead."
[19:28] <Strix_4-2> "Yeah, get outta there."
[19:32] * Cavalier_3-3 flies in right after Cosmo, lowering his speed to bolster his accuracy, as he flies slow and steady, taking in a deep breath as he aims at the battery. Shortly after ,a veritable inferno would burst forth from the nose of his aircraft, as quad-cannon fire erupts from in, in addition to his right rocket pod being emptied.

[19:33] <@Valetni> The quad guns chew into the cab of the AShM launcher, easily rendering it unusable. As if that wasn't enough, a single rocket slams into the payload on the back of the AShM carrier, detonating the four missiles that were once a threat to the fleet.

[19:34] <Cavalier_3-3> "Enemy missile battery neutralized."
[19:36] <Cavalier_3-3> "I think that's all of them, Apogee Lead."
[19:37] <Cosmo_4-1> "4-2, Apogee Lead, I'm withdrawing now - craft's taken too much damage to justify keeping the rust-bucket flying. Catch you on the flip side."
[19:37] <Australis_3-1> "Nice work Cav. Nadir Lead, your birds good to stick around for the turkey shoot?"
[19:38] <Cosmo_4-1> "Strix should feel free - he's probably itching to actually hit something.
[19:38] <Cosmo_4-1> "
[19:38] <Strix_4-2> "It'll never happen at this point..."
[19:38] <Cavalier_3-3> "Aren't these just living quarters, Apogee Lead?"
[19:47] <Australis_3-1> "Neg on that Apogee 3, command has marked the whole base as secondary targets."
[19:49] * Australis_3-1 cuts speed and hugs the ocean, gliding leisurely toward the shore, and the now defenseless XSAM. She Opens up with her guns at close range and fire 4 rockets out from under her left wing before pulling up.

[19:49] <@Valetni> Deprived of any defenses, the crew of the Surface to Air missile bail out of the radar and launch vehicles as you come in on another attack run. One poor soul is cut to pieces as the 20mm cannon fire marches along the dirt, up his body, and into the launcher without pause. Rockets blanket the area, turning the entire surrounding into a hellstorm of shrapnel and fire. As you pull up, nothing is left but death and destruction.

[19:53] * Strix_4-2 flies over the living quarters, dropping a FAB on it. "Did I fucking hit it!?"

[19:53] <@Valetni> The force of the bomb is enough to collapse both of the living quarters targeted.

[19:54] <Australis_3-1> "Roger Nadir 2, Solid Hit.
[19:54] <Cavalier_3-3> "Nadir 2, that's..."
[19:56] <Strix_4-2> "Nice, nice... Alright I still have two missiles for these assholes, any more targets we need to hit?
[19:57] <Cavalier_3-3> "...Moving in to neutralize their AA Facilities."
[19:57] * Cavalier_3-3 diverts his flight path away from the burning base.
[20:01] * Cavalier_3-3 flies on over to the AA Batteries, as mentioned, decreasing his speed, and releasing a payload of unguided bombs - using the opportunity also open up cannon fire onto the batteries. As he withdraws, a  burst from one of the cannons penetrates  blows a few holes under his right wing. There's a grunt of displeasure from the comms.

[20:03] <@Valetni> One of the bombs guides true, while the other lands heavily in the sand without exploding. The one that does hit does for the first AA gun, while the quad colts do for the other.

[20:03] <Cavalier_3-3> "Apogee lead, how copy?"
[20:05] * Cavalier_3-3 diverts his plane away as he finishes his bombing run, seemingly exiting the combat zone.
[20:08] <Australis_3-1> "Good hits Apogee 3, cleared hot for all remaining military targets. Rendevous with Nadir Lead and get her home Safe, over."
[20:09] <Cavalier_3-3> "Understood. Heading home."
[20:22] * Australis_3-1 does a wide semicircle of the island, surveying the docks and lining up an attack on the remaining XSAM. She lines up her attack, steadying her bird and letting loose the remaining 6 rockets in her left pod and opening up her guns. Distracted at the last second as she passes the burning barracks 40 meters from the ground, most of her rockets go wide of the target.

[20:23] <@Valetni> Between the rockets and the gun, it's enough to destroy the abandoned missile launcher

[20:23] <Australis_3-1> "Fucks sake..."
[20:26] <Australis_3-1> "Nadir 2, all targets destroyed. Rendevous at 20,000 feet, we're heading home, roger?"
[20:27] * Cavalier_3-3 adjusts his  craft to form up beside Phebe.
[20:27] <Strix_4-2> "Roger that."
[20:27] * Strix_4-2 heads upwards, forming up with Apogee flight.
[20:28] <Cavalier_3-3> "That was...simple."
[20:29] <Cavalier_3-3> "Nadir Lead, how are you holding up?"
[20:30] <Cosmo_4-1> "All good here, on my way back to friendly airspace now."
[20:30] <Australis_3-1> "Keep an eye out for trouble. Let's hit the throttle and catch up with Nadir Lead."
[20:30] <Cavalier_3-3> "Understood. Holding formation, Apogee Lead."
[20:31] * Cavalier_3-3 simply continues onwards, letting out a short sigh as his plane moves onwards, back to Valais.

[20:33] * Cosmo_4-1 brings herself down gently, sure to account for the damage to her craft. This time, her landing gear is spared, allowing her to roll onto the tarmac safely.
[20:35] * Cavalier_3-3 follows along behind Cosmo's damaged aircraft. Despite the minimal damage suffered to his wing, he manages to land his F-8 with ease, slowing down gradually until coming to a complete halt.
[20:41] * Strix_4-2 dips down, landing with minimal difficulty. His craft has a few plates missing in some places. He hops out after taking his helmet off and stretching.
[20:42] * Cavalier_3-3 remains in his craft for a moment, seemingly double-checking a few things about it.
[20:44] * Australis_3-1 flexes her shoulders and shakes the tension out of her arms before landing, she bounces once, relatively smooth for a MiG.
[20:44] <Cavalier_3-3> "That's everyone accounted for, then..."
