He was the kind of kid who charmed the lollipops off of people without even trying, the kind of kid who was all inclusive and sought out the best in others. Tyler's magnetic, affable personality combined with the good head on his shoulders and a natural affinity for most physical activities brought about much popularity throughout his many years in school. Extrovert that he is, much of his life would revolve around pleasing others: doubling his efforts towards athletics in order to carry his varsity teams, applying to college programs of his parent's choosing rather than his own, being corralled by fellow adolescents due to his social status. Scarcely would Underwood stand up for himself, defaulting to non-confrontational behaviors and allowing the prerogatives of others to override his own.

Altruism would prove a constant factor throughout Underwood's life when, early in his adolescence, he chose to pursue a career in Law Enforcement, enrolling in the Police Academy directly after obtaining a four year degree in Liberal Arts at NYU. After roughly seven months of training at the Academy and then two more additional months of training on the field, Tyler would go on to graduate and officially join the ranks of the NYPD as a full-fledged officer. His first few years on the force proved mostly uneventful, marked mostly by late-night patrols and first responses to noise complaints. Rarely would Underwood face any mortal dangers in his rookie years. much to his chagrin, as his reason for enlisting in the first place was to assist others. In spite of such inactivity and inability to lend his community any real assistance, Tyler stuck out those dull, monotonous few years with all the doe-eyed optimism of his youth, certain that sooner or later he'd come across someone in need of saving and he'd be better off for it.

Had his quaint little life in New York remained mundane, Underwood might have never gotten his wish to save others. As fate would have it, however, Tyler would happen upon a supernatural hotspot for drugs, prostitution and other debauchery in the form of a rickety bar infested with vampire clientele and patrons alike while on patrol. Normally, an encounter of that nature would spell out one's death, but it is then when Underwood is chosen as the next Slayer and undergoes a painless activation, his transition seamless enough for him to instinctively begin fighting it out with hostile vampire pouring out of stage right and left. The whole experience was surreal, inexplicable, and Tyler would only begin to make sense of it over the weeks that followed when the spirits of the Slayers before him reached out to him in cryptic dreams. Although vague and littered with puzzling imagery, the dreams would motivate him to seek out information as to whatever the hell might be happening to him, resulting in many late nights with his eyes glued to an article on the internet whereas his lips were sealed over a coffee mug. Now, the internet's a great place for information, sure, but it's also a great fuckin' place for misinformation, too, as Tyler would find out when several boards suggested he might just be losing his shit or that he might in fact be some sort of werewolf, skinwalker, and X, Y, Z. His true nature - that of the Slayer, the Chosen One - would only dawn upon him when he distinguished between the berserk traits shared between most mythological creatures. Whereas wendigos, zombies and other beasts sought to kill, devour, and consume for pleasure, Tyler instead felt the urge to protect, predate, to hunt because the [i]world[/i] itself and its mortal inhabitants necessitated that from him.

Realizing that he was not what went bump in the night but rather the light meant to chase such shadows away coincided well with Tyler's selfless traits, crafting a gallant warrior who readily embraced his duties as Slayer. Although he lacks the support of a Watcher or Council, Underwood gets by with his limited knowledge of the supernatural and ability to sense disturbances from a distance, readily engaging demon, vampire and monster alike should they be deemed a threat. Tyler's prophetic dreams have ceased altogether as of recent, although supernatural activity in the area has increased dramatically since his activation. Unbeknownst to the Slayer, a Hellmouth has situated itself within the city and acts as a portal for hellspawn to travel to and fro this dimension and the next. With no visions to guide him and no Watcher to set him on the path to seeking out the Hellmouth, Underwood carries out his obligations as Slayer by night and NYPD officer by day, blind to the fact that with each passing day an army of demons is steadily being built within the city right under his nose, right out of his reach.[/sub][/quote][/color][/justify][/collapse][/color][color=red][collapse=𝓪𝓫𝓲𝓵𝓲𝓽𝓲𝒆𝓼][justify][color=gray][quote][sub]Slayers, the Chosen Ones, are mystically empowered humans imbued with the essence of a demon and tasked with ridding the world of vampires, demons and other such evil forces. Tyler Underwood is one such slayer gifted with superhuman strength, speed, agility and resilience, allowing him to go toe-to-toe with most demons physically. In spite of their vast physical enhancements, what truly gives a Slayer their edge over most opponents is a combination of skill, experience and instinct. A Slayer's source of power is thought to be metaphysical, explaining why one of slender build is capable of grandiose feats of strength that would, under normal circumstances, be out of their reach.

Years of training and experience on the field as a police officer has allotted Underwood proficiency with a variety of firearms, whereas he inherited a vast knowledge of armed and unarmed close-quarters combat upon his Slayer activation. Tyler's mastery over melee weaponry is vast and profound, utilizing them as if they were mere extensions of himself.

As with other Slayers, Underwood is capable of [i]sensing[/i] certain supernatural disturbances, namely the presence of hellspawn, but with concentration and experience this ability can be honed into a "sixth sense" altogether, bestowing upon the Slayer in question a superhuman level of spatial awareness and ESP-like abilities.
