  1. Machine learning and Data mining are becoming the next big "thing" in the field of Cyber Security. In this context, I think it's reasonable to think of starting an elective course "Data Mining for Cyber Security". Note that Stanford university has also recently started a course in the same title (Link: http://web.stanford.edu/class/cs259d/). We have people doing research in these areas. (Especially people in the NetClique research group headed by Hota sir, Machine learning and bug prediction - Bhanumurthy sir, Info retrieval and related research by Aruna Ma'am and Abhishek sir who has very good interest in practical security and n/ws). And also the department has a specialization course in Information Security (Int. M.E). I think, even if the department is not able to provide this exact course for the next sem, it is reasonable to think of providing electives in future in the similar lines.
