  1. Re: http://www.droid-life.com/2014/03/26/att-expands-4g-lte-network-to-lots-of-new-markets/
  2.
  3. Information retrieved on March 26, 2014 via http://maps.eng.t-mobile.com/
  4.
  5. Note 1: T-Mobile might be upgrading some of these areas, so their changes might not have been reflected on their coverage maps until these areas have been officially launched with the changes.
  6. Note 2: This is merely to compare LTE availability of one carrier to the LTE availability of another.
  7. Note 3: Coverage is about where YOU are most of the time and might visit, not if coverage is good where you'll never go, unless you happen to want the assurance of getting good speeds anyway.
  8. Note 4: Of the many comparison lists like this one that I've done, this one is the worst for T-Mobile, mainly given their poor to non-existent coverage in some New York areas.
  9.
  10. Of the 18 new AT&T areas with LTE, T-Mobile has:
  11. - 3 LTE areas
  12. - 1 "4G" areas
  13. - 2 3G areas
  14. - 5 2G areas
  15. - 1 roaming area
  16. - 6 no service areas
  17.
  18. So, of the 18 areas, all but 6 of them should provide poor performance in general.
  19.
  20. The list:
  21. - 2G: Sweetwater, TX
  22. - 3G: Merkel, TX
  23. - LTE: Tye, TX
  24. - LTE: Abilene, TX
  25. - RM: Traverse City, Mich.
  26. - NS: Ogdensburg, NY
  27. - NS: Norfolk, NY
  28. - NS: Lisbon, NY
  29. - NS: Rensselaer Falls, NY
  30. - NS: Waddington, NY
  31. - NS: Massena, NY
  32. - 2G: Plattsburgh, NY
  33. - LTE: Reno, NV
  34. - 2G: Truckee, CA
  35. - 2G: Grass Valley, Ca
  36. - 4G: Elkhart, Ind.
  37. - 3G: Eureka, CA
  38. - 2G: Yuma, AZ
