As an aspiring medical school student, I have a strong desire to get involved in the medical field early on and to gain experience towards helping patients and fitting their specific needs. I hope to volunteer at Carle Hospital in order to hone social skills with my coworkers and patients while also familiarizing myself with a hospital setting. I don’t think one can simply learn these things through a textbook, so, by having a hands-on experience such as volunteering at this hospital, I can have a more well-rounded skill set for the future. I would love to help others, and through the experience that volunteering provides, I can help them in the best way that I can.
