- This is a canvas oil painting, six feet long by three feet tall, framed in
- ebony with carved ravens flocking around inlaid silver skulls, the eyes of the
- ravens set with rubies, and the skulls set with aquamarines. The eyes seem to
- follow you wherever you go. How ominous.
- The painting depicts a beautiful temple, with seamless, white walls of ice,
- with thick clusters of beautiful, yet deadly icicles hang in the four corners
- of the Narthex. Snow falls thickly here, despite it being indoors.
- Floating in the air, descending is a radiant, human-looking woman with dark,
- thickly curled hair, wearing nothing but an open white cloak about her shoulders
- and a short skirt tied about her waist. It would seem that the cold doesn't
- touch her, for she seems to not fully understand being dressed for the snow.
- She has an emotionless expression, but is reaching down before a kneeling,
- female, mahogany catfolk. The catfolk's face is hidden, as she faces the
- woman.
- The floating woman is reaching down to the catolk, placing one hand on her
- shoulder, where her fur seems to be turning snow white, outward from her
- hand.
- A brass placard along the bottom edge of the frame reads in cursive writing,
- "Part Three: Numb", by Kiyaneh Venglacies. Painted on Solaria 7, 420.
