+gen, as the youngest of the family, always had expectations to follow after her brother. these expectations were set by her parents, of course. as a child, she had a lot of leisure time to spend with her friends. by the time she hit middle school though, this is when it began. she was no longer allowed to spend her days outside. her brother was always top the class and was smartest. gen successfully followed, with many hours of studying. although, he was fairly popular. gen was not so lucky. she was always the smart girl in the class who couldn't hold a proper conversation. she was only able to answer questions without stuttering, and sometimes she still did. one good thing that did happen to her, other than her parent's happiness, was when she matured. puberty had treated her well. she was extremely beautiful and had a great voice. not that anyone knew she could sing. singing was her secret passion. she always knew that her parents wanted her to become a doctor or something, but she had bigger dreams (at least in her opinion). her brother was always the favorite, not that they weren't equally treated. it was just, as the first child, he achieved the best. he, however, didn't like this. the both of them never wanted to be brainiacs. it is helpful, however, being intelligent is great. but, there are bigger things in the world, like having fun. their parents always told them the longer they worked to achieve their goals the more fun it would be over time. which it never was. what did become more and more fun over time though, was singing. she loved to sing in her room alone. over the course the high school, her parents allowed her to pick a few classes that weren't core classes, but still educational. she decided that learning a few languages would be something new. she started with korean, seeing that not as many people were taking it. during the course, she learned about kpop(and ofc fell in love). with the small allowance she had, she would often buy kpop related things. one day she saw a sign for auditions in tokyo. she decided that she wanted to at least tryout, even if she wasn't allowed. she wouldn't even ask her parents, the consequences would come later. now, a trip to tokyo took at least 5 hrs if traffic was good. it was now or ever, she left a note saying she wouldn't be back until tomorrow or so, and left(tbh horrible idea but oops, i'm not exactly sure how you could get semi-away with this). she ended up being excepted and told her parents that she was moving to korea, once she graduated. obviously, they weren't happy, but she finally was.

+when gen was growing up she was fairly close to her parents, tomori katashi(father) & michiko(mother). she was always closest to her brother, even though isao was 4 years older. both she and her brother shared the same passion of getting to do what they want. although isao is still currently continuing his studies to become a doctor like their father. out of her three family members, isao is the only one to support her. both her parents have shut her off due to the fact that she disobeyed them and moved to korea, to train and become an idol. gen had thought her mother would understand, seeing as she was a therapist(she's a housewife now). she now only keeps in contact with her brother, but she tries not to think about her parents at all.

IF YOU DO | PERSONALITY

✧ −personality;
+gen has always tried to meet expectation. she wants to be a crowd pleaser, she still has her own thoughts though. she will always have something to say, and you should anticipate it. she may be awkward and somewhat shy, but she knows what she's doing. she's extremely tactical, she always tries to think out all the possibilities of the situation. this also comes from her intellect, she is an extremely smart girl. she may not act like it, but she'll prove herself in seconds flat. she strives for the perfection of her group. even though she isn't the only leader, she wants to be able to help each sub-unit. from first impressions, she may not look like it, but she has a strong presence. sure she's a beauty, just like the rest of the group, but there's a reason she part of the sexy unit. she herself never found her self as sexy, but when she performs she's someone else. off-stage, she returns to her awkward self, who stutters and hesitates when talking. she's only truly confident when with her members, she always feels comfortable around them. she can also be stubborn, but she isn't very intimidating. she will surely argue with you, even if she does stumble on her words, she has a goal to prove herself. gen, upon first meetings, will always be shy. she stays strong since she is a leader. but, now is the time when her korean tends to fail her. she can't help but be hesitant when talking, because of this.  even though this may happen, she handles any feedback she gets well. criticism isn't something that affects her too much. when she receives criticism, she instantly tries to think of a way to fix the cause of said criticism. gen is a little bit of a perfectionist, it runs in her family. she always pushes her self to make sure is at the best it can be. she also wants all her members to at the best they can be too. she can always think of something to get them to the next level. she gets stressed rather easily, she doesn't try to show it. although it's easy to tell when she is stress, she's always in a down mood.

+gen's ideal type is someone who is serious but knows how to have fun. due to her awkwardness though, she needs someone how can make her feel comfortable no matter what. she isn't very picky, but just wants someone who understands her.

+upon first meeting, gen saw that chanyeol was a mischievous boy(i mean who doesn't). but, she also saw that he was rather nice (and attractive). She felt the need to become close to him, despite how outgoing he is compared to her.

+chanyeol couldn't help but find it adorable how she would mess up her korean. he saw that she was genuinely trying her hardest. But, it was also easy to mess and get along with her. he felt compelled to stick around her even if she did say she was busy.

+you thought she stumbled on her words before? now it's more frequent. you see, this tall ass dork can be quite intimidating. she still manages to stay calm around him, but can't help but want to just turn and leave from embarrassment.

+he will always be genuinely sweet. even if he's laughing at something she did, he'll always make sure she okay. he's also quite the goofball (as we all know). he will try to keep her laughing and smiling, even if it's not the right moment.
