A vintage piece of military hardware, the Thompson M1928A1 was the first variant of the Thompson submachine gun to be mass produced for the US military in WW2. While many of these workhorses of the US arsenal were used by the Army and Marine Corps, they were also sent overseas to allied countries as part of the US Lend Lease. While the UK, Commonwealth and China used these weapons in great numbers, the USSR mostly stockpiled these weapons due to the difference in calibre the gun compared to the PPSh-41.  This particular weapon found its way into the Zone from one of those Russian storage depots.
