  1. Hello this is TAS Tutorial teaching you how to make the bestest and most speed Tool-Assisted Speedrun you have ever seen.
  2. You start up the emulator. Except you first need to download the emulator you want to start up. So download an emulator. Protip don't use BizHawk it probably already crashed... just kidding, use SlowHawk all you want.
  3. Let's use Nintendo Entertainment System as an example. So after you started up an emulator for NES, go to Configuration and cofigure your controllers and hotkeys. Sidenote: Piano Roll based TASing is for plebs. Buttons are pretty straight forward. Important Hotkeys are: Save Slot 7, Toggle Toolbox, Macro Editor, and the most important of them all, Exit Emulator, for when you are done realizing you can't do shit. Too bad. Then, you also configure useless hotkeys like Frame Advance, Save and Load, and Toggle read-only.
  4. Now you start up a ROM. Download it illegally on the internet. I mean don't. You wouldn't download a car, remember? Except I would definitely download a car if I could. Anyways you could totally get a Virus. Super Mario Bros dot E X E.. I mean dot N E S.. Now start a movie recording. Try saving and loading to avoid playing like crap. Additionally frame advance to avoid even more playing like crap. You got it, TASing is basically avoiding playing like crap since that's everything the TASer could do in a real time run. Now use magic to make entertainment and cool fast speed. After getting to the end and winning the credits or just the end of the level if you're slow, stop the movie by clicking Stop Movie, you genius. Who would have thought of stopping the movie by clicking on Stop Movie. Anyways before stopping the movie make sure you don't leave any blank input at the end of the movie. Because it's slow and makes your run slower and it's also useless and bad and against the rules of TASVideos dot org. Or like against the guidelines. Who knows?
  5. If you didn't already do it, play back your movie. If it de-syncs, well, sucks to be you. Re-do it I guess. If it syncs, congratulations, you made your first Tool-Assisted Slow run. Now don't go to TASVideos dot org and submit your first run. Your movie is bad and will get brutally rejected. Seriously, it's not as good as you think it is. Instead go to the userfiles section and upload it there. Then go to the game thread in the forum and post it for feedback. If you don't get feedback, try choosing a less shitty game - I mean then try to find other TASes of the game and compare yourself to them. Congratulations, your movie is slower than other runs. Moral of the story: try playing less like crap.
