  1. >"Hey, watch out man. You've got the whole hallway!"
  2. "Wha? Oh. OH. Heh, sorry about that.."
  3. >You are Anon
  4. >Currently a senior in Canterlot High
  5. >Despite your clumsiness, and general aversion to most social engagements, you'd somehow made it through the past few years of school with a decent record
  6. >Until recently
  7. >Raging she-demon
  8. >Students with pony ears and tails
  9. >Zombified students
  10. >Twice
  11. >You couldn't explain it, but something about this school was just...different
  12. >You quickly shake yourself out of your daze and continue your way down the hall, the student you bumped into doing the same
  13. >You continued to think about your history with this place
  14. >You'd lived in town most your whole life, knew most of the people, but didn't talk too much
  15. >You had a few pals, but preferred to not have too many close contacts
  16. >Made things a lot less complicated drama-wise
  17. >After stepping in the door to your next class, which was math, the sight of something, rather, someone, pulled you from your thought
  18. >It was her
  19. >There she sat
  20. >Second row, third seat from the left
  21. >Sunset Shimmer
  22. >Yes, the girl who had turned the whole school into mindless drones, and nearly brought about massive scale chaos only several months ago
  23. >Most students avoided her, those who didn't, only taunted and teased her about what had happened on the night of the Fall Formal
  24. >Aside from a few friends you see her with often, you were the only person who didn't seem to hate or fear her
  25. >You took your seat in the class, one row back and one seat right from hers
  26. >Ignoring the teacher's usual lecture about tardiness, you took a few moments to examine the strange girl
  27. >She was donning her usual attire, a pair of large boots, a skirt, and her signature studded black leather jacket
  28. >She was rather cute, with her dazzling teal, almost green eyes, and her long hair, her long hair, which you swore she dyed intentionally to resemble bacon
  29. >"Anon! Are you listening?"
  30. "Yes ma'am!"
  31. >You snapped back to attention as the teacher called your name, having finished with her blabbing
  32. >Your gaze wandered back to the girl, curious of whether or not she noticed the teacher fussing at you
  33. >Several other students around, including Sunset, had indeed noticed, and were giving you that "busted" sort of look
  34. >You felt your cheeks warm with blush as you realized that most of them had probably noticed what had you so distracted
  35. >Watching Sunset was something you did often
  36. >Scarcely enough to not seem like a stalker, but often enough that it was sort of obvious
  37. >You just couldn't help it
  38. >The girl ass fascinating to you
  39. >You sighed softly, before picking up your pen and begging to jot down whatever the teacher had written on the board, figuring you'd need it later, when you actually cared to do your schoolwork
  40. >Now, however, you found yourself once again lost in your own dreamlike thought, most of which, of course, revolved around Sunset
  41. >Class ended after what seemed like weeks
  42. >Onto the next one!
  43. >You grabbed your notepad and pen, making sure to put some distance between yourself and Sunset on your way out the door
  44. >Didn't want to get too close after that embarrassing moment in there
  45. >You went back to your locker to pull out a history book, which was the next class you had to endure
  46. >Sadly, this one didn't have the girl of your obsession to help distract you from the boring teachings
  47. >As you stepped out doors of the school and stood on the steps, the chilly breeze that hit helped remind you that you were in fact, not dreaming
  48. >You slung your backpack full of notes over your right shoulder before you hopped on your bike and began peddling away down the street toward's Joe's
  49. >Along the way, you couldn't help but wonder if this was some sort of prank
  50. >One Sunset and the others thought up after they caught you staring
  51. "She wouldn't do that, would she..?"
  52. >Ever since the she-demon fiasco, Sunset seemed like she had made a change for the better
  53. >You couldn't recall ever seeing her bully or bad mouth anyone after that
  54. >Only one way to find out
  55. >You continued peddling
  56. >After arriving at Joe's and tying your bike to the streetlamp outside, you walked in and chose your usual booth seat next to the window
  57. >No Sunset in sight
  58. "Probably just late.."
  59. >Despite telling yourself that, bad thoughts continued to race though your head
  60. >These thoughts were suddenly dispelled the the sound of a cheerful voice
  61. >"Hi Anon!"
  62. >Sunset cheerfully exclaimed, tossing her backpack onto the booth before sliding over and taking a seat next to it
  63. >You smiled and looked over to her, reaching for you open backpack before pulling out the notepad you used for Math
  64. >"Hey there, Sunset. Can I get you anything?"
  65. >You nodded towards the menu of burgers as you asked her the question
  66. >"Nah, I'm okay. Thank you for offering, though!"
  67. >You flipped the notepad open to the pages you'd used earlier that day
  68. >Sunset seemed very polite, for someone who most people made out to be the scum of the school
  69. >You exchanged the usual chit chat about school while you allowed her to take notes from your work
  70. >She explained how she was late due to her friend, AppleJack, talking to her and her friends about the new machine they'd purchased that was supposed to help production at the farm they owned on the edge of town
  71. >All the while, you were trying to muster up the courage to ask her why she'd asked you in particular for help
  72. >This went on for quite some time
  73. >You had both been there for about an hour or so when you finally decided to pop the question
  74. "Hey, Sunset? Can I ask you something?"
  75. >She looked up from her paper and smiled as she nodded
  76. >"Sure, Anon. Go ahead."
  77. "Well.. Why did you ask me for help? There's tons of other students in class who I'm sure could be more of a help to you."
  78. >She looked back down to her work as she answered
  79. >"I noticed that you take a lot of notes during class. Figured you could share it with me. Plus... A lot of those other students would either say mean things or freak out when if I asked for help. You didn't seem like you'd do either."
  80. "Well, I guess after the whole she-demon thing..."
  81. >You noticed Sunset's cheerful mood seem to change the instant you brought that up, her smile fading
  82. >You bit your tongue and mentally cursed yourself as you prepared to either be yelled at, ditched, or both
  83. >"Honestly... I was kind of hoping I might be able to start making a new image for myself."
  84. >She looked back up at you as she spoke
  85. >"I want to be able to start making new friends around without the past haunting me everywhere I go. I thought maybe you could understand a little of how I felt, since I never really see you hanging around with anyone else, either."
  86. >The look of sad disappointment she gave you made you want to punch yourself in the face as hard as humanly possible
  87. "Sunset, I'm sorry.. I didn't mean to be insensitive like that, I meant it as a joke.. I... Really don't think of you like that. It's a big part of history at this school and even in this town, yeah, but I don't think of you as being that way anymore. You've actually seemed really nice, and I wish more people would see that."
  88. >She looked at you with a neutral expression
  89. >You honestly felt really shitty for having upset her, especially after having just gotten to start talking to her just a while ago
  90. >"I believe you, Anon."
  91. >She smiled as she spoke those words, then went back to copying your notes
  92. >Those words she spoke stayed in your mind for the rest of the day, and well into the night, long after you'd both said your goodbyes and both had headed back home for the night
  93. >As always, the morning came too early for you
  94. >After completing your morning routine of showering, brushing your teeth, and getting dressed, you made a few pieces of toast before hopping out the door
  95. >While going down the steps, you suddenly found yourself slipping uncontrollably
  96. >You prepared for a hard hit on the concrete, but found your fall cushioned by something unexpected
  97. >You picked yourself up and took a good look around
  98. >Snow.
  99. >Snow Everywhere.
  100. >Darn. Must've had a good dusting overnight, the ground was coated
  101. >No bike today, didn't want to risk falling and hurting something more than your pride
  102. >The trudge to school was long, cold, and wet one
  103. >You somehow managed to arrive at school on time, however
  104. "I guess Hell does wait."
  105. >You made your way to your locker and shed your heavier layers of warmth before grabbing your books and preparing for the day
  106. >Once again, the day was filled with boring lectures and more notes, which he continued to jot down almost subconsciously
  107. >You hadn't seen a trace of Sunset today
  108. >Perhaps she wasn't able to make it to school due to snowfall
  109. >Or perhaps you had simply dreamed yesterday's pleasant encounter with the mysterious girl
  110. >The thought of that made the usual boring classes seem twice as long
  111. >You sighed as you placed your larger books you didn't feel like lugging back home into your locker
  112. >Once you shut the door, you were met with a pleasant surprise
  113. >"Hey Anon!"
  114. >Sunset walked towards you, a bright smile on her face
  115. >She was dressed a bit more warmly than usual, given the much cooler temperature
  116. "Hey Sunny!"
  117. >You mentally facepalmed the moment that word left your mouth
  118. >You always thought of her as "Sunny" in your head, but didn't really give much thought to how dumb it must sound to her out loud
  119. >She simply giggled and walked up to you, slinging her backpack over her shoulder before speaking
  120. >"Hey Anon, I was wondering if maybe you could give me a hand again with homework today? The snow made me late to school, and I missed biology. Aren't you in that class?"
  121. >You quickly smile and nod
  122. >Maybe the snow was good for something
  123. "Yeah, sure I do. You want to hit Joe's again? I'm getting kinda hungry."
  124. >"Sure, that'd be great."
  125. >She smiled as she turned for her locker
  126. >"See you there!"
  127. >Trudging through the cold, again
  128. >But this time the destination was worth the long haul
  129. >You stepped into Joe's and brushed off the cold before taking your usual seat at the window booth
  130. >"Hey kid. What can I get you today?"
  131. >You ordered a few snacks from Joe, along with two hot chocolates
  132. >The drinks were already on the table by the time Sunset arrived
  133. >Cheerful, as usual
  134. >"Hey Anon! You look kinda cold."
  135. >You grabbed you warm drink and took a good swig from it
  136. "Pfft, cold weather never bothers me."
  137. >You were obviously lying
  138. >Even inside Joe's, you felt like you were in a freezer
  139. >The minutes went by, you and Sunset idly conversing while doing your homework
  140. >Sunset asked about your parents
  141. >You explained how your father was often away for extended periods of time due to his work
  142. >Your mother always went with her sister to help their mother during the winter season
  143. >You usually had things to yourself this time of year
  144. >"Must get pretty lonely.. Especially during the holidays."
  145. "Nah. At least I don't have to spend money on a ton of gifts."
  146. >She giggled softly
  147. "What about you? Your parents?"
  148. >Sunset's cheerfulness seemed to diminish slightly
  149. >She explained how she had left her family and home shortly before coming to Canterlot High, but didn't say where her home had been
  150. >You thought it best not to dwell on the subject
  151. >You'd both finished your hot chocolates and most of your homework by the time you finally looked outside
  152. "Whoa, getting kinda dark outside
  153. >The snow had also begun to fall again
  154. >"Maybe we should be getting home, don't want to have to start walking back in complete darkness
  155. >You agreed and began to gather up your school work and prepare for another cold trip home
  156. >Sunset gave you warm hug before starting on her way home
  157. >Your place was in the opposite direction
  158. >While walking away, you couldn't help but to glance back at her
  159. >She looked really cute walking through the snow
  160. >She turned to wave at you with a smile
  161. >A smile you could've swore melted the cold around her, and maybe a little bit in you, too
  162. >You'd seen the struggles of your old friends, brought on by relationship-induced drama
  163. >They'd fight
  164. >They'd bicker
  165. >Such inseparable friends turned to enemies
  166. >You never wanted to be a part of that, which is why you had detached yourself from most relationships over the past few years
  167. "Maybe now is time for a change.."
  168. >You thought to yourself
  169. "Maybe now is time for a-"
  170. >Your train of thought was derailed by a loud shriek
  171. >That was Sunset's voice
  172. "Oh no..">You turned on your heel and ran in the opposite direction as fast as you could
  173. >Paste Joe's and down the sidewalk
  174. >You turned left down the corner, but skidded to a stop and dove for cover behind a trash can when you saw them
  175. >Five figures towards the middle of the block
  176. >Two of them leaned against the side of the building, two stood in front of the last
  177. >The last, was clearly Sunset
  178. >One of them had their hands on Sunset's shoulders and appeared to be trying to rough her up
  179. >The figure looked almost female...
  180. "No..."
  181. >That, was Gilda
  182. >She had graduated from Canterlot High last year, only by threatening and bribing
  183. >You never saw her actually study on any type of schoolwork
  184. >And now, she was, for some reason, threatening Sunset, with the added muscle of her goons
  185. >You couldn't just sit there
  186. "Think, Anon, think..."
  187. >You took a deep breath before getting to your feet, and, against your better judgment, and self-preservation instincts, emerged from behind the can
  188. >You reached into the left side pocket of your backpack to pull out the multi-tool you usually used for your bike in case of emergency
  189. >You flicked out the knife blade and began stepping towards the group
  190. >You knew they wouldn't be intimidated by you and a tiny knife, but they might be intimidated by numbers..
  191. "You! Hey! You four! Let that girl go!"
  192. >You yelled out, in the most intimidating voice you could muster
  193. >Quickly, the lights in nearby apartments were turned on and shown through the windows
  194. >The three males took nervous looks around before starting to back away
  195. >"I'll deal with you later!"
  196. >Gilda yelled, before striking Sunset across her face, and turning to run after her companions
  197. >You ran to Sunset, who was lying on the sidewalk pavement
  198. >Gilda's blow must have been hard enough to knock her unconscious
  199. >You put the knife into your pocket before putting your hands on her shoulders and shaking her gently
  200. >She didn't respond
  201. >You took a few moments to look her over for injury
  202. >She was still breathing fine, but had a bruise across her left cheek, and a gash on her forehead, which was bleeding at a slow, ye steady pace
  203. >She must've hit the concrete pretty hard..
  204. >The snow was starting to come down pretty hard now
  205. >You didn't know where she lived, and didn't want to risk the long haul across town to the hospital
  206. >What could you do?
  207. "Sunset, hey! Wake up!"
  208. >You sighed heavily as you sat back on your comfy red chair
  209. >Sunset was lying on the red couch across from you, still unconscious
  210. >You had pushed through the snow and brought her back to your home
  211. >You'd tended to her wounds, recalling your training from your Boy Scout days
  212. "I knew all that would come in need one day..."
  213. >Sunset didn't look as if she'd be waking up for a while, so you decided to turn on the T.V.
  214. >"Eggads, Holmes! The butler?"
  215. >Click
  216. >"I lost 37 punds on-"
  217. >Click
  218. >"Come on down and eat at J-"
  219. >Click
  220. >"And now, in the local area, snowstorms continue to drop the fluffy stuff all over town. We can expect at least eight inches on the ground by 7:00 I the morning, with storms continuing throughout the day."
  221. >well, at least you probably wouldn't have to get to school tomorrow
  222. >One good thing out of all of this
  223. >the news bored you, as it usually did
  224. >Soon, you felt yourself begin to drift off to sleep in your seat
  225. .you couldn't even object before you slipped off to dreamland completely
  226.
  227. >You awoke to the sound of a loud shriek
  228. >You opened your eyes to see Sunset sit up on the couch, before grasping her head in pain
  229. >In an instant, you were by her side, trying to help calm her
  230. "Shh, shh, You're okay, Sunset. you're safe, I promise."
  231. >"A-Anon..? Where am I..? W-what happened..?
  232. "You're in my living room, Sunset. And, I'm not too sure. Someone hit you and knocked you out..."
  233. >Sunset's eyes instantly widened, her mind recalling the events that had transpired a few hours before
  234. "Sunset."Sunset.. What were those four doing?"
  235. >You asked, giving her a concerned look
  236. >Sunset didn't seem to want to answer
  237. >She gave you quite a few untrue answers, which you saw right through, before she finally began to make sense
  238. >Sunset explained how Gilda had heard about her display of power at the Fall Formal
  239. >Sunset had refused to tell Gilda how to obtain such power, causing Gilda to threaten her by going after her close friends
  240. >Aside from five friends who'd helped stop her rampage at the Formal, whom no one dared to act out against, she couldn't find anyone else close to Sunset whom she could harm
  241. >Sunset told you how Gilda had resorted to simply targeting her, which had been going on for quite some time
  242. "So.. this is not the first time she's harmed you?"
  243. >"No.. I-it's happened several times."
  244. >Sunset was on the verge of tears, after recalling all of her encounters with Gilda and her group
  245. >Not being able to think of any words that might offer comfort, you sighed, before simply reaching out and hugging her softly
  246. >The disgruntled girl almost tackled you as soon as you did, latching onto you in a tight hug as she bawled into your shoulder
  247. >"Oh anon, I..I just don't know what to do!"
  248. >You pulled her close into your tight embrace, patting her back softly
  249. "Gilda is nothing but trouble. Always has been, always will be. But, she'll back off if she things her violent acts will be exposed. That's why her and her friends ran today."
  250. >"I don't see how that helps.. No one ever wants to be around me, let alone help me with something like that.."
  251. >You sighed softly before pulling away
  252. >you placed your hands on her shoulders and looked her in the eyes as preparation for what you were about to say
  253. "Sunset.. I believe you. I'll listen to you. I help you in any way I can. I.."
  254. >You caught your tongue before you said anymore
  255. >Not yet...
  256. "I'll do whatever I can."
  257. >Sunset's eyes were tearing up again from your words
  258. >"R-really..?"
  259. "I promise.">The time seemed to pass slowly
  260. >You held Sunset in your arms still, sitting in your living room, watching whatever looked interesting on the T.V.
  261. >>You knew you had to ask
  262. >You didn't want to bring down her mood by bringing up the subject of Gilda and her attacks, but if you were to help stop this, you had to knew all you could
  263. "hey Sunset, can I ask you about.. you know, Gilda?"
  264. >She looked up at you
  265. >The look on her face told you she didn't want to speak of it, but she sighed softly, and nodded
  266. >"Sure, Anon. What would you like to know?"
  267. "If I'm gonna help you, then I need to know how they're working. Can you start off by telling me how it usually goes down? Even the smallest detail could help."
  268. >She sighed again and began to explain
  269. >"Well, Gilda is always the first to confront me, usually with one of the guys standing with her, but he'll rarely say anything. He's got shaggy brown hair that covers his eyes."
  270. "Hoops. Hoops is his name."
  271. >"Yeah, it's usually him."
  272. "Which means it's probably Dumb-bell and Score who're the other two. Have hoops or the other two ever hurt you?"
  273. >"No.. Only Gilda. She tried to make one of them hit me once, but he didn't do it.. Probably scared that someone might find out."
  274. >"Gilda usually just jabs my stomach with a fist or stomps on my feet. She's never hit me as hard as she did today before..."
  275. >Sunset raised her left hand to gently rub her head as she spoke, which you had bandaged to help keep the bleeding down
  276. >You leaned your head down to plant a soft kiss on her forehead
  277. >This caused Sunset to blush
  278. >You were beginning to get angry
  279. >Poor Sunset had been taking this type of punishment for months
  280. >You wanted nothing more than to return the favor to her abusers
  281. >Your thoughts of anger and hatred were broken by a sound
  282. >You looked at Sunset to see her stretching her arms and yawning
  283. >She let out a quiet squeak as she yawned
  284. >That was probably the cutest thing you'd you'd ever heard
  285. "Sleepy?"
  286. >Sunset nodded softly and looked up at you with half-lidded eyes
  287. >"Do you think you could maybe bring me a blanket and a pillow?"
  288. "Nonsense."
  289. >You got off the couch and stood before holding your hand out to her
  290. "Can't leave you out here on the couch."
  291. >She looked as if she was going to pretest, but after a few sleepy blinks, she gave up before she even started, and took your hand
  292. >You helped her off the couch and down the hall slowly
  293. >She had complained earlier of her vision being a bit fuzzy from the fall
  294. >You didn't want her to lose balance and fall, and you certainly had no problem with holding her to your side as you walked
  295. >you took the second door on the left, and led her into a spacious room with a large, comfy looking bed
  296. >You figured with your parents gone, they wouldn't mind their bed being used once
  297. >Sunset sat down on the bed and smiled before lying back on the large blanket
  298. >"Mmm, it's like laying on a cloud! I can't remember the last time I had a bed this comfy."
  299. >You smiled a she removed her jacket, kicked off her boots, and made herself comfy on the bed
  300. "All yours."
  301. >You turned and began to walk towards the door
  302. >Sunset quickly sat up and looked at you
  303. >"A-Anon! Can I uhh.."
  304. >You turned to look at her, raising a brow questioningly
  305. >She stammered a bit more before finally spitting out real words
  306. >"C-could you maybe..um.. Bring me a glass of water?"
  307. >You saw right through that smile of hers
  308. >That wasn't what she wanted to ask
  309. "Of course. Be right back."
  310. >You returned a minute later with the glass of water
  311. >You set the glass down on the nightstand and looked at her
  312. "Is there anything else I can bring for you?"
  313. >You wanted to give her a chance to ask again
  314. >She blushed a bit, and looked as if she was about to speak, but then shook her head
  315. >"N-no thank you. Goodnight, Anon!"
  316. "Nighty-night, Sunset.
  317. >You exited the room with a smirk on your face
  318. >Sunset sat there on the bed, she still looked dissatisfied
  319. >"Damnit.."
  320. Sunset POV:
  321.
  322. >Sunset sat there for several minutes, mentally kicking herself in the ass for having not acted when given the chance
  323. "Damnit..."
  324. "I missed my chance. He probably wouldn't take me seriously now if I tried again.."
  325. >She scratched her chin in thought
  326. "Then again, he brought me into his home and patched me up.. He obviously cares to some extent."
  327. "Then again, maybe I shouldn't bother him after all he's done.."
  328. >Sunset pressed her right palm against her forehead before dragging herself off the bed
  329. >She was still a bit wobbly, but determination prevailed over injury
  330.
  331. >You, Anon, were lying on your bed in your room
  332. >You were pretending to read an old camping magazine, which you were holding upside down
  333. >"Hey Anon?"
  334. >You looked towards your open door
  335. >The voice, of course, came from Sunset
  336. >She stood in your doorframe, clasping her hands together and rocking back and forth on her heels in a nervous fashion
  337. >She sighed softly and stood still, looking at you with a serious look about her
  338. >"What I really wanted to ask you, was if you'd like to sleep with me."
  339. >Wo.
  340. >You had anticipated she might come back to ask, but you were a bit surprised she did so in such a straightforward manor
  341. >"It sounds stupid, I know, but.. I just thought it'd be kinda nice."
  342. >She looked down with a bit of a defeated expression
  343. >She seemed to take your hesitation as a no, and turned to walk away
  344. "Wait!"
  345. >You practically shouted, as you leaped from your bed and over to the girl, your magazine tumbling to the floor
  346. >She stopped and turned to look at you
  347. >You stood in front of her and smiled, looking down into her eyes
  348. "Yeah.."
  349. "Yeah I'd love to.">You followed Sunset back into the room
  350. >You both laid down on the bed and shut the lights off
  351. >Despite being the one who had asked first, Sunset still seemed a bit nervous
  352. >You chuckled softly at her nervous blush and gently wrapped your arms around her, pulling her close against your chest
  353. "Relax. Get some sleep. School will be canceled due to the snowfall, no doubt."
  354. >The girl seemed to relax into your embrace, wrapping an arm around you as she rested against your body, shutting her eyes
  355. >You figured her openness to cuddling with you after only a day or two of really knowing each other was brought on by emotional stress from the ordeal with Gilda
  356. >You stared dully up at the ceiling before shutting your eyes, quietly enjoying the feeling of holding Sunset in your arms
  357. >You'd never really gotten this close to anyone before
  358. >But this just felt right
  359. >There, with her, you felt content
  360. >No needs needed to be spoken
  361. >You had always felt a certain way about Sunset
  362. >You cared for her
  363. >More than you cared for anyone
  364. >You made a silent promise to yourself, and her, in that moment
  365. >As long as you drew breath, Sunset Shimmer would never need to feel alone again
  366. >And, hopefully, neither would you
  367. >You awoke in a cold shiver
  368. >Forcing your eyes open, you looked over to your alarm clock
  369. >6:37AM
  370. >So cold...
  371. >The snowfall must have caused the drastic temperature drop
  372. >You then recall that you had indeed forgotten to turn up the heater before bed
  373. >You looked down to see Sunset still gripping onto you tightly
  374. >She too was shivering from cold, but was still asleep
  375. >You managed to reach down and pull up the fluffy blanket over both of you without disturbing the sleeping girl
  376. >As you lay there with the girl, your thoughts drifted to what the day might hold
  377. >Sunset would eventually have to go home...
  378. >Perhaps you could put that off for a while
  379. >You could make her breakfast
  380. >Then check her injuries
  381. >Perhaps you could use that to stall her from going home...
  382. >You let out a sigh and mentally kicked yourself
  383. "She obviously likes you... no need to weird her out, Anon. You're her friend. You'll probably be seeing a lot of her in the time to come
  384. >You didn't want to be one of those over-possessive people that keeps the girl they like inside all the time
  385. >After a little while longer, however, you decided that making the both of you some breakfast wouldn't be a bad idea
  386. >You managed to slip out of bed without waking Sunset
  387. >After taking a look around at your inventory of ingredients, you began slaving away over the stove
  388. >A good while had passed by the time Sunset Shimmer had wandered into the kitchen, following the smell of a freshly cooked meal
  389. >You looked over at her from your place in front of the stove with a smile
  390. >Sunset yawned as she stepped forwards, coming next to you
  391. >"I weren't there when I woke up.. I got a little worried."
  392. >You gave her a soft pat on the back with your off hand
  393. >You poured the last of the scrambled eggs you'd been cooking onto a plate, which you then moved to the table
  394. >Sunset smiled brightly at the assortment of food you had laid out across the table
  395. >Toast
  396. >Scrambled eggs
  397. >Hash browns
  398. >A few various fruits
  399. >You even had a few strips of bacon you'd found in the freezer
  400. >It wasn't a spectacular job, but Sunset looked as if she'd just opened up an amazing present on Christmas day
  401. >Sunset simply gave you a tight hug before you motioned for her to sit down and eat
  402. >The both of you sat at the table and began eating the meal, which you were rather proud of
  403. >At one point when Sunset was chomping on a piece of bacon, you looked up at her and couldn't help but laugh
  404. >"What?"
  405. >She asked, with her mouth full
  406. "Nothing, Sunset. Just... thought of something funny."
  407. >You didn't know ho to tell her that her hair reminded you of one massive flowing piece of bacon
  408. >Sunset simply went back to eating
  409. "Hey, after breakfast, I'm gonna check your head. Replace the bandages."
  410. >"What do you wanna do after that?"
  411. "Well.. If you want to head home, I understand."
  412. >Sunset's mood seemed to drop at the mention of being sent home
  413. "Or, we could.. Hm..."
  414. >"If you want me to go home, that's okay, Anon. I'm sure you've got stuff to catch up on, having spent last night and this morning tending to me and whatnot."
  415. >You really didn't want her to leave just yet...
  416. "Tell you what. Let's just see where the day takes us."
  417. >She smiled and nodded, seeming to be more content with that answer
  418. >After the both of you had finished breakfast, Sunset helped you clean up the kitchen
  419. >You then led her into the living room, and, using the first aid kit you had pulled out last night, began redressing her wounds
  420. >"I'm feeling a lot better this morning. My vision isn't so fuzzy, and I don't have that throbbing headache anymore.
  421. >She said, smiling slightly as you tied off the fresh bandage on her head, which her hair mostly covered
  422. "That's good. Means it wasn't too severe. Minor concussion, most likely."
  423. >"Hey, would you want to go out today? That is, if the snow isn't too heavy."
  424. "Out? Like, where are you thinking?"
  425. >Sunset shrugged her shoulders
  426. >"Just around town. I wanted to look at some warmer clothes."
  427. >Sunset Shimmer just asked you to go shopping with her
  428. "Hey, I'll go with you, but I don't know the first thing about fashion. That girl you sometimes hang out with looks like she might, though. Rarity.. I think her name is?"
  429. >Sunset nodded with confirmation
  430. >"Mhm, Rarity is her name. And, last time I tried to go shopping with her, I almost spent a fortune. She likes those real pricey stores at the mall and such. I wouldn't mind opinion of someone a little more..."
  431. >You cocked your head and raised an eyebrow as Sunset searched for the word she was looking for
  432. "Cheap?"
  433. >She blushed a little
  434. >"You know that's not what I meant!"
  435. >You chuckled at her reaction, before standing and helping her off the couch
  436. "Well, I don't want to go walking through the snow."
  437. >You thought for a few moments about your options
  438. >Your mother had explicitly said to not use the car unless it was an emergency
  439. "Come with me, I have an idea."
  440. >You said, taking her hand and leading her towards the garage
  441. >You pushed open the door to the garage
  442. >Aside from the various junk, there was a clunky looking red Jeep
  443. >Even if you could take it, it probably wouldn't start in the cold, anyways
  444. >"What are we doing in here, Anon?"
  445. "You'll see."
  446. >The garage was fairly spacious, holding various shelves and tables of things your father liked to work on in his spare time, when he was home
  447. >In the far left corner was something covered by a dusty old tarp
  448. "Bingo."
  449. >"What?"
  450. >You stepped over and pulled the tarp from the object, making a cloud of dust
  451. >There it was
  452. >Your father's old Harley Davidson
  453. "It's my dad's. He used to ride this every day."
  454. >The bike looked to be in fairly good condition
  455. >It's red paint job was still decent
  456. "Parents said I couldn't take the car. Never said anything about this."
  457. >"Anon, that thing looks pretty old... Will it even start?"
  458. "Well, we'll about to find out."
  459. >You said, giving her a grin
