SM3DW Map Glitch explanation

The map glitch lets us skip 4-2 second trip, 4-A and 4-4, skip 3 stars in World 8, get extra stars elsewhere, and go back for Backstreet Bustle at a later time, letting us reach World 4 Mystery House without completing 4-4. Basically, it lets us skip the entire second half of World 4 and some parts of World 8.

It is not known if this trick is possible in other worlds/locations. The only worlds you are able to land into after falling from World 8 are Worlds 3, 4, 5 and 7. Quitting while you are falling through the world crashes the game.
