BD2 Audio Commentary

Audio commentary two for episode 3 here we go.

Starting with introduction. Iguchi said the main story started with amazing things happening right off the bat. Takaki likes the opening where H&F got whipped by Ange and wanted to tighten the rope around them. By them he means H&F and Ange. Kaneko add that he’s in charge of the upper management so he left that part to Takaki. It’s a joke, Takaki isn’t the one in charge of that scene. Then OP start. Iguchi remark that OP song is very cool compared to ED also with lots of cool cuts and Izawa add there’s also Momoka in OP. Iguchi said that Momoka is scary. Izawa said that the way they show Momoka in OP make it seem like they’re foreshadowing something. 17 years old gag. Izawa and Iguchi fangirling Mirei and Mamori kiss in OP. Izawa asked whose idea was it to make them kiss like that, Kaneko jokingly answer it’s his. The guy in charge of OP is someone Kaneko fully trust and he let him plan even the smallest detail like parting Mamori’s lips before Mirei kiss her. Kaneko express his gratitude for showing boobs right off the bat.

Iguchi said because they have the same participants as the first audio commentary, they will talk about the topic that they didn’t touch before. Iguchi start by asking about audition, why they were chosen, things like that. ‘Ii oppai da, ii oppai da”. Iguchi said it’s amazing to look at Mirei’s mountain from below, Kaneko add that he’s the cameraman for that scene. Iguchi applaud Kaneko saying she learned new directorial trick with that. They got back to audition topic. They all went thorugh tape audition. When Izawa received the document she decided to audition for Meifon, because Meifon is small and she personally find her really cute. She recorded the audition tape in her Agency office. Besides Meifon, she also does Kasumi. Her manager told her to auditioned for Lady J too but Izawa thinks that her voice wouldn’t fit adult woman like J, so she decline it. So her manager ask her why not try audition for Mamori too and she did.

When she recording for Mamori part, another newbie seiyuu affiliated with her agency, a girl in middle school was present in the recording booth to observe. Izawa said the audition script contains lewd content too, so the middle school girl have to listen to her moan while staying very quiet. It was very awkward experience for both of them. Izawa said her heart was beating very fast when she recorded Mamori lines. Iguchi said that maybe that’s what got her the role. Kaneko said that in the audition script there was a part where Mamori got ridiculed for her name tag on her clothes, he said that Izawa’s acting was the cutest and got him to consider her to be a top candidate for Mamori.

Since the first she heard that she passed the audition, Izawa got lots of chance to talk to Kaneko about characterization, she said since that time Mamori’s character actually changes a bit. Kaneko said that Izawa was very diligent. Izawa said that’s because this is the first time she got to talk so much as one character. Kaneko said that Izawa asked him to let her see the storyboard and other materials too. She also ask for a meeting to adjust her acting for the anime, like should she made Mamori sound younger. She thought of a lot of variation and then ask Kaneko which one will fits Mamori the best. Takaki is surprised that Kaneko is actually working on other thing beside the boobs. Then Kaneko said stop trying to ruin his character and they all laugh. Kaneko then said that she chose Izawa because her voice sounds like a C-cup, Iguchi then scold them because they were having a nice conversation.

Izawa then ask Iguchi about her audition. Iguchi start by saying that while she does want to play as Mirei she actually have minimum experience playing a cool woman like Mirei. And said that playing Mirei was quite a challenge to her. She also audition for other character but she didn’t expect to be chosen to voice Mirei. Takaki agree and said that it was real surprising. [Note: Iguchi voice Hibari in SK] Iguchi said that she have worked with Takaki before and compared to Mirei, the character she voice in that ‘oppai thing’ is quite flighty and a total idiot, in good way. They said VDM doesn’t have that kind of character. Izawa said that Mirei doesn’t have lots of expression even though she’s hot and that’s why she find Iguchi voice to be perfect fits. Then Iguchi ask Kaneko why he thought she’s a good fit for Mirei. Kaneko answer because her voice fits a H-cup. Iguchi the does nori-tsukkomi, goes along with the joke before straightman-ing the joke.

Mirei’s pure maiden inside even though her outer appearance is wild, so Kaneko wanted someone that could act out the contrast between her personality and appearance. And among all of the audition tape that he had heard, Iguchi is the one he find the most fitting. And before making final decision he also listened to how well seiyuu for Mirei and Mamori voice works together. Ultimately they found that Iguchi and Izawa voice works really well and decide to cast them. Kaneko then said that it was a lie. Izawa add that it’s okay to be serious once in a while and Iguchi poke fun at Kaneko’s embarrassment.

Then Izawa ask Takaki whether he was present at the audition meeting, and Takaki said he was. Takaki have been involved with other works so he have lots of experience sitting in audition meeting. Kaneko said one time, Takaki said that he’s being too lax. Takaki said it was in his contract to make sure Kaneko does his job.

Izawa and Iguchi find the uniform Mamori wear to be cute. Izawa also wore the same uniform on one of VDM niconico broadcast. Being her first big role, Izawa worries about a lot of thing, so to get into Mamori character even better she always braids her hair when she went recording for VDM.

The cast is full of women, and they only get used to each other and the show around third episode. They said the guest seiyuu that only appear for one episodes like Mamiko Noto were surprised by the episode development and sudden boobs appearance.

Iguchi then ask how does the recording booth looks like from the staff perspective. Takaki said that when recording line for games, they usually do it alone per character, so he thought that the anime recording is pretty awesome. “Oh man that’s awesome”, “ah what a lewd voice that’s soo good”. Above all Takaki said all of the seiyuu looked like they’re having a blast doing it and kind of feel jealous of them.

Kaneko said that he actually can’t see anything because there’s lots of recording device that obstruct the view but he said he saw them from monitor. Kaneko said they all looked like they have fun too and he receives idea from looking at them on how to deepen the character acting. Iguchi said because there are lots of people in the recording booth she thought they will have problem using the mic. Izawa also said that she need to figure out a lot of things too, like where to sit.

Mirei rarely talk so when they seiyuu were asked to do background characters voice, Iguchi got really fired up and made lots of noise. Iguchi made sure to sound like a total idiot so her voice wouldn’t overlap with Mirei’s cool voice when she’s voicing background characters. She said she really looks forward to voice the background characters. Izawa had tons of fun voicing background characters too, she got really into it when voicing the girls that made fun of Mamori by going ‘shojo-shojo’. Iguchi add that while Mirei’s lines isn’t a lot, she always feels nervous before the recording because all of her lines have weight behind them.

Iguchi found H&F that wear normal clothes to be strange. Kaneko said there’s a legit reason on why H&F likes to wear swimsuit, it’s so that they could Drive easier. The drive scene in ep 3 also used in the audition script. The seiyuu are going crazy in this drive scene. Kaneko said it’s a pretty important scene that show Mamori’s determination. During the recording, whenever there’s kiss scene, Iguchi actually add some kissing noises but then the staff told her that it was unnecessary and didn’t use it. Iguchi is jealous of other girls that can go ‘a-a-ahn’ or ‘chu-chu-chu’ and said that shouldn’t’ the Liberator make some noises too. She wanted to do lewd noises too.

In Kasumi stocking ripping scene, Kaneko said that it was actually not planned. The animator add that on his own and Kaneko thought that it’s great so he keep it.

Lady Lady appear! “Hentai Driver”

They all said that Lady Lady outfit are dangerous. Kaneko said that the pair is the most perverted.

ED. Takaki found the ED song to be too fast and cant keep up with it. He can’t figure out what they’re singing about. In the song there are several times they make kissing noise, Iguchi also recorded some cute kissing noises for Mirei in the song but in the show only Mamori’s chu that got used. That’s because Mirei’s is on latter part of the song.
