  1. 1) You are either an intended or a declared major. Please do an extensive search about your major. Why did you choose this major?
  2. My declared major is Computer Engineering: I chose this major for two reasons, one personal and one professional. The personal reason is that I’ve already spent a great deal of my life behind computers, so not going into this major seemed like a waste of time to me. The professional reason is due to the constant renovations and discoveries in the computer world that are found so frequently; it’s like a gold mine waiting to be found and mined out.
  3. Computer Engineering, not to be mistaken for Computer Science which ONLY focuses on software, is a hybrid major between Software (Computer Science) and Hardware (Electrical Engineering) with the primary goal to be able to build various computer parts or computer peripherals, with the addition of being able to code specific programs to possibly be used alongside specific hardware specializations. There are different branches to accommodate for the dozens upon dozens of possible computer parts possible to be built, but all in all, they focus on what I have just stated.
  4. 2) Who is a successful engineer?
  5. A successful engineer is one that uses his wits to solve problems within this proximity of his major to greatly benefit future engineers like himself. Pays close to attention to details to ensure his/her projects are top notch. A strong leader capable of leading his team efficiently for maximum speed and great management, and a great team player as most engineering projects involve group work. Thinks quickly on his feet to be able to respond to any sudden problems that can arouse throughout the process of the project.
  6. 3) Please do an extensive search about the terms introduction to engineering vs. foundation of engineering?
  7. Introduction to engineering is an introductory course mandatory to all engineering students to take a firm grasp on what is expected of them as engineers and to give students an idea of what is to come in their later years; be it their university years or their working years.
  8. Foundation of Engineering is basically the main courses any basic engineer must take: Chemistry, Physics, Calculus, etc.
