20:20 <Ceri> Last year, they met a tribe of goblins who worshipped the distorted memory of a monk who saved them from being wiped out once
20:20 <Ceri> And they've kind of been trying to help these goblins out
20:20 <Ceri> (They're working on a ritual to turn them into Blues)
20:20 <Ceri> Because the guy they're devoted to was a good guy, and so they're good guys
20:21 <Jellycube> I seeee
20:22 <Ceri> So the adventure they've been on for the last several sessions was diving into an old dwarven mine that the local humans had been using before it'd been captured by orcs
20:22 <Ceri> And the nice goblins were infiltrating it to get info and to help kick the orcs out when the heroes arrived
20:22 <Ceri> Except the orcs found a sealed vault labelled like NO DON'T EVER GO IN HERE
20:22 <Ceri> So of course the orcs went in there
20:23 <Ceri> And there was lots of treasure but also a ghast
20:23 <Ceri> And so the orcs started getting murdered off
20:23 <Ceri> And that's when the party arrived
20:23 <Jellycube> Oh pff
20:23 <Jellycube> That's like a plot I used before sort of
20:23 <Ceri> They saved the slaves the orc's'd taken from the villagers, and also a bunch of the good goblins, and beat the ghast thanks to the guest appearance of my brother's girlfriend playing a Druid
20:24 <Ceri> But on their way out, the reinforcements the orcs'd called for weeks ago finally arrived, including a troll
20:24 <Ceri> And they've never fought a troll before so they didn't know to use fire or acid
20:24 <Ceri> So it was a long tough battle, but they had fun
20:25 <Ceri> And the leader of the good goblins helped them out, because his people were all wounded and he wanted to help stop thet roll before they killed his guys
20:25 <Ceri> And in the end, he died because the troll's severed arm got a lucky crit on him
20:25 <Ceri> Everyone stopped talking and two of the boys literally teared
20:25 <Ceri> Even I was sad
20:25 <Ceri> I loved that guy
20:25 <Ceri> And the Cleric hadn't thought to prepare revivify
20:26 <Ceri> But his heroic last act was to grab a torch off the wall and throw it at the troll for one point of fire damage, to kill his regeneration, so the fight was finally won
20:26 <Ceri> It was such an exciting and dramatic fight
20:27 <Ceri> They found a bunch of magic items, both with the reinforcements and in the now-safe dwarf treasure vaults
20:27 <Jellycube> Uwaaaaaaa
20:27 <Jellycube> Too sad ;_;
20:28 <Ceri> It is sad
20:28 <Ceri> BUT THERE'S HOPE
20:28 <Jellycube> But why would the cleric ever not prepare revivify
20:28 <Jellycube> whhhyyy
20:28 <Ceri> Because
20:28 <Ceri> They JUST levelled up last week
20:28 <Ceri> And they didn't know Revivify was a spell
20:28 <Jellycube> ;_____;
20:28 <Ceri> They did prepare Gentle Repose today though
20:28 <Ceri> And they used it RIGHT AWAY
20:29 <Jellycube> Ohhh
20:29 <Jellycube> I see then they'll be okaaayy
20:29 <Ceri> Yea
20:29 <Ceri> They moved the body very carefully to their home base with levitate spells, to keep the coins from falling off his eyes
20:30 <Ceri> Then they random-encountered a treant along the way, who the bard managed to befriend and convince to help them out, because trees have very steady hands
20:30 <Ceri> Buttt
20:30 <Ceri> They used Speak with Dead
20:30 <Ceri> And he said
20:30 <Ceri> He doesn't want to come back yet
20:30 <Ceri> Because
20:30 <Ceri> The monk who saved them, all the way back then
20:31 <Ceri> Became a demigod from the power of their belief
20:31 <Ceri> And so he is hanging out with him in the afterlife
20:31 <Jellycube> ehhhhhh
20:31 <Ceri> And he doesn't want to cut the visit short yet
20:31 <Ceri> Ask again later
20:31 <Ceri> And they're like "i bet he's training and when we finally revive him in like a year, he'll be higher level than us"
20:31 <Ceri> (really i'm just kind of saving him as a backup character for if one of them eventually dies unrecoverably)
20:32 <Jellycube> ehhh but can't he only revive within 10 days
20:32 <Ceri> No, you can just.. cast it again
20:32 <Jellycube> But wouldn't that require the party stays with him all the time
20:33 <Ceri> They moved the guy to their base, and carved a bier for him in the wall
20:33 <Ceri> Well, no, it requires they come back to their home base every ten days
20:33 <Ceri> Or just invest the gold in a hireling who can do that
20:33 <Jellycube> Hmmmmm
20:33 <Ceri> They really enjoyed this session
20:34 <Ceri> And I'm glad because 99% of it was totally adlibbed because I was drawing blanks all night
20:34 <Jellycube> Yaaaaaaay
20:37 <Ceri> But yea! They brought all the monk goblins back to their base, and they're going to consult the revenant and ghosts that are the previous heads of their knightly order if they have any leads on the Bluing ritual

20:38 <Ceri> And that's where I ended it because my cousin has to work in nine hours (and also because I had no answers for that :D)
