  387. necromancers can both raise the dead and summon monsters like flighters can summon wyrms from other planes of existence. Doing so causes a link to be formed between themselves and the cadre or the nercro. Necromancers can only hold so many of these links before killing herself as they directly suck from their magical source which is connected to their life force.
  388. But a necromancer can also disengage these links and connect them to a necromonger; the male half of the Rosalia house are basically all necromongers. The links then start drawing from the necromonger's life force and is insanely painful as foreign bodies sucking on your belsong is like getting stabbed.

  390. a normal necromancer can have about 20-30 links attached to her at any one time on average. Necromongers, because the links are foreign and they didn't have to waste the energy to bring them through a portal, can hold /double/ that amount. So necromongers train for years and years and years to be resilient to pain or to find pleasure in it. A single necromancer isn't that scary honestly, like 2 dozen men could overpower her or she'd exhaust herself. But a necromancer with a few necromongers can hold back a small army

He's also much younger than them and easily startled.
