Hosting in Best-Ever - Tutorial for doom/vr/os

HOW DO I HOSTING IN BEST-EVER?

First of all, you need to create an account in order to use the #BestEver services.

>Log in into IRC and join the #Zandronum channel
>type "/msg nickserv register <your password> <an email>"
>Then, check your email and follow the instructions to activate your account (usually you will only have to paste a simple line into IRC).
>Now, type /msg nickserv identify <password> and your account will be made. After that, you can use that very account to join the #BestEver channel

Now, in order to create a server you must construct a message to send to the channel. The hosting command starts with .host, and you can add features by adding the options below.

You can use this template to create your own message, please note this is just the usual way to host a server; in order to add or remove specific parameters, please refer to the Best-Ever website

.host hostname="Insert cool ass servername here" iwad=[name of IWAD here] wad=[insert pwad or pk3 here] gamemode=[insert gamemode here]

(Gamemodes supported are: coop, ctf, dm, duel, invasion, lms, skulltag, survival, tdm and tlms)

Now, when your server is up, the bot will private message you the RCON password, THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT, since in order to change settings in-game and/or kick players you need to be logged in with the RCON. Now, join your newly made server like you would do normally for any other kind of server, and then open up the console and type


"send_password [password]"

A message will confirm your password, and then you'll be able to add a server password and alter the dmflags and stuff

rcon sv_joinpassword [your password]

Remember, servers are limited to two per person, and once the server is empty, don't be a dick and bring it down by typing ".killmine" in the #BestEver channel

In order to add any custom WAD to host it using the Best Ever servers, you need to upload it to their page, and you need to be registered in their website database to do that

Once you're logged in into IRC, type the following line

"/msg BestBot register <your_password>"

Then you'll be able to upload any WAD/PK3/PK7 file you want. File limit is 200MB
