- Scorching showdown! Sentinels vs Shinju-kan - 1
- [Streets]
- Son: What should we play today?
- Gin: I've got energy built up from being stuck in my room lately, I want to release it all somewhere!
- Sum: Should we play tag or kick the can?
- Gin: Fine I guess, but I wanna do something different than usual.
- Gin: Isn't there anything exciting that could let me unleash an explosion of that pent-up energy?
- Son: Waaah! Mino-san's surplus of energy might make her go haywire at this rate!
- Son: A new sensation is needed!
- Sum: Sonocchi, no bandwagoning.
- Gin: Huh? Isn't that Suzume-san walking over there?
- Sum: It is. She's staring at something in her hands while walking.
- Gin: Hee hee hee, that sounds like a new sensation on the way.
- Gin: Doesn't look like she's noticed us, want to go spook her?
- Son: Sounds fun! Approach her quietly, so she doesn't notice...
- Sum: Wait up, you two!
- Gin/Son: Wah!
- Suz: Jeez, it's just Gin-chan and Sonoko-chan. Don't scare me like that.
- Gin: Sorry, we didn't think you'd get this scared.
- Son: It was a flight of fancy.
- Sum: Suzume-san, I'm sorry about Gin and Sonocchi.
- Suz: No, it's not something that requires a proper apology.
- Suz: My fault for staring at the flyer instead of the surroundings.
- Gin: You really got taken in by it, what's the flyer about?
- Son: Is there something interesting in it?
- Suz: Sure there is, look! They're opening a Spo-sta in the neighbourhood!
- Gin: Spo-sta!? That place where you can play all sorts of sports like they're games?
- Son: The one with an ad that goes like "Be it hot or be it cold, it's indoors so it's all good!"
- Sum: I've seen that as well. It sounds interesting.
- Gin: I've always wanted to go to one!
- Suz: Really? Then how about we call Mebu and the others there next weekend?
- Gin/Son/Sum: Agreed!
- Scorching showdown! Sentinels vs Shinju-kan - 2
- [Several days later]
- [Spo-sta]
- Gin: Whoaaa! We're finally here!
- Meb: So this is Spo-sta. What a fine building.
- Suz: Let's have a ball today!
- Shi/Son/Sum: Yeah!
- Aya: But is it really okay for us to be the only ones at such a fun place?
- Suz: As kind as always, Ayaya. Come on, let's enjoy ourselves with the members who gathered right away.
- Sum: If we enjoy ourselves today, we can simply invite the others at a later date.
- Yum: I must say, there is a plenthora of games around here!
- Sum: It says "Enjoy yourself however you want to!", but that makes it really hard to pick.
- Gin: Okay, how about we split into two teams and compete in games?
- Sum: So we'll be having competitions and the team that wins the most times will be the overall winner, right?
- Suz: Sounds like a good time!
- Son: Here, here! I have another rule to suggest!
- Son: The participants have to approach their games all hyped up! I think that'd make it fun, what do you think?
- Meb: Hyped up? Why do we need that rule?
- Son: Because I think it's more fun to do anything when you're hyped up! Don't you agree?
- Yum: I do, wholeheartedly!
- Aya: Yelling excitedly is fun! I agree too!
- Meb: Aya-chan seems to be enjoying herself, so let's go with that for now.
- Shi: Kusunoki... You're spoiling Kokudo again.
- Suz: Okay, let's pick the teams now. How should we split?
- Son: Maybe we'll take Aya-senpai and have the Sentinel team vs the younger team?
- Suz: That'd split it evenly at 4 people a team, sounds good.
- Aya: ...Wouldn't it put them at too big of a disadvantage if I joined the younger team?
- Shi: Then... I'll join them instead of Kokudo.
- Gin: Really!? Are the rest of you okay with that, Mebuki-san?
- Meb: Shizuku is a former schoolmate of yours from Shinju-kan to begin with, so why not?
- Gin: Hurray! We'll show you the power of team Shinju-kan!
- Shi/Sum/Son: Yeah!
- Meb: We Sentinels won't lose when it comes to teamwork! Let's take them on!
- Yum/Aya/Suz: Yeah!
- Scorching showdown! Sentinels vs Shinju-kan - 3
- [Spo-sta]
- Gin: Since we're doing team matches, how about starting with a 3 on 3 basketball match?
- Yum: Sounds good. I, Mebuki-san and Suzume-san shall be your opponents from the Sentinel team.
- Sum: Then it'll be me, Gin and Shizuku-san from the Shinju-kan team.
- Suz: The rules are "the team to score the most goals in the allocated time wins", right?
- Son: Please don't forget about the "hyped up" part!
- Shi: How does a hyped up 3 on 3 work again...?
- Gin: Let's say, something like yelling a special move name when you're about to shoot!
- Son: Mino-san, that's a good idea!
- Meb/Shi/Sum: Uuuh...
- Gin: Huh? No good?
- Aya: But yelling would perk you up, and it'd make it fun for us to watch as well...
- Meb: Well, if you say so, Aya-chan... Let's try it.
- Shi: Spoiling again...
- Son: We've decided the rules, so it's time to start the game!
- Son: Mino-san, ball's yours! Good luck and keep hyped!
- Gin: Leave it to me! Dribble, dribble! And then comes the pass to Sumi under the basket!
- Son: Wasshi, there's your chance to shoot! A hyped-up shout, if you would!
- Sum: U-Uh... A spirited yell... Glory to Japan, banzai!
- Gin: She nailed it!
- Yum: Those were some overwhelming speed and excitement.
- Meb: Change of sides, the Sentinels will be attacking now! Miroku-san, catch!
- Yum: At your service! Hyped up dribbling! Dribbling!
- Aya: Miroku-senpai, there's your chance to shoot! Raise a wonderful cheer, please!
- Yum: Certainly! And there is but one catchphrase for me to use! Alfreeed!
- Meb: Well played, Miroku-san.
- Suz: But "Alfred" isn't a cheer, it's just a name...
- Son: And we're running short on time, ladies and gents. The Sentinel team is currently in the lead!
- Aya: Please do your best, both teams!
- Suz: Okay, as long as I guard against Shizuku who's under the basket and stall for time...
- Suz: Wah, I crashed into her! Sorry, Shizuku, that wasn't on purpose...
- SHI: Kagajou, you little-! You've got some guts, crashing into me!
- Suz: Eeek! I'm telling you, it wasn't on purpose!
- SHI: You're the last person I'm gonna lose to! Minowa, Washio! Pass the ball to me!
- Gin: Ooh, SHIZUKU-san descended at a great time!
- Sum: We have a chance to turn this around. SHIZUKU-san, we're counting on you!
- SHI: Nice pass, Washio! Alright, here goes! Rrrrah!
- Son: The Shinju-kan team fights back! SHIZUKU-senpai, time for a shout!
- SHI: Shout? Okay, fine! Sudachi! Ramen! Awa-odori!
- Aya: Wow, SHIZUKU-senpai keeps landing one goal after another!
- Son: And it's great how she accompanies it with a shout every time!
- SHI: Come on, come on, we've almost turned it around! Minowa, Washio, keep those balls coming!
- SHI: Oh for... Time over, really?
- Gin: Geh, we almost had it...
- Suz: You had me scared there, but the first round goes to the Sentinel team!
- Meb: But the Shinju-kan team put up a great fight.
- Sum: We won't lose next time. Let's go right into our next-...
- Shi: ...I'm tired... And... hungry...
- Meb: Shizuku looks like she's at her limit, so let's cease hostilities for a while and have lunch.
- Scorching showdown! Sentinels vs Shinju-kan - 4
- [Food court]
- Suz: Whoa, they have udon at the food court!
- Gin: Being able to eat hot udon after some sports is the best!
- Aya: Good job with your morning workout, everyone. Let's eat!
- Suz: Let's eat! Whoa, this udon is great!
- Meb: Yeah. The broth and noodles are both quite authentic. By the way, what will we be competing in in the afternoon?
- Gin: Let's see... Ah! How about we have a little competition, right here?
- Son: Competition?
- Gin: Udon speed-eating!
- Sum: We've already started eating, and we'd pay for it while exercising later.
- Gin: Oh, right. But I want to take revenge for that match already.
- Suz: How about we compete in giving food reviews, then?
- Son: Food reviews? You mean when you describe how good something tastes in various words, right?
- Suz: Yep, yep. Let's see who can best express how tasty the udon we're eating right now is.
- Yum: Sounds amusing! But how would we go about choosing the winner?
- Son: Why not have Aya-senpai pick? She was cheering on both teams equally just now.
- Meb: Yeah, nobody would argue with Aya-chan's decision. Are you up for it?
- Aya: It's an important duty, but I'll do the best I can! Should we start with the winners of the previous round, the Sentinel team?
- Suz: Roger! Mebu, you're up!
- Meb: Eh, me? Let's see... If I were to put the taste of this udon in words...
- Meb: The outside has a smooth, slippery mouthfeel while the inside has that handmade chewiness to it.
- Meb: It weaves into the fragrant skipjack tuna broth to create a high-class udon that you can enjoy with all five senses.
- Shi: ...She did it more properly than I imagined...
- Yum: Almost like a food critic.
- Aya: Mebuki-senpai, thank you for the wonderful report!
- Gin: Okay, I'll take up the challenge!
- Sum: Gin, can you really handle it?
- Gin: Leave it to me! Okay, this udon's good points... For starters, it's tasty!
- Gin: Just smelling the delicious broth gets you excited, and you won't be able to stop after the first bite!
- Gin: *slurp* Tasty! *slurp* Super tasty! Phaaw! Anyway, it's super good! That's all!
- Yum: There was zero concrete information in her words, but she definitely conveyed the deliciousness well.
- Suz: Yeah. Maybe I'll have seconds.
- Son: Okay, Aya-senpai, time to decide!
- Aya: Hmm... Both sounded very tasty, but... I declare Gin-chan the winner!
- Meb: I lost...
- Aya: Mebuki-senpai, I'm sorry, your report was wonderful too, but you were a little stiff...
- Aya: Gin-chan has so much passion and spirit in her words that they moved my heart and stomach.
- Sum: Good job, Gin. That puts as at a draw at 1 win and 1 loss.
- Meb: Yeah. But the real battle starts in the afternoon! Let's get into gear and do our best!
- Yum/Aya/Suz: Yeah!
- Scorching showdown! Sentinels vs Shinju-kan - 5
- [Spo-sta]
- Suz: No way, the sun's already starting to set!?
- Sum: We played a lot in the afternoon, didn't we?
- Aya: Sumi-chan, you were really cool during archery!
- Gin: We lost to the Sentinels in bowling, but Sumi helped us catch up.
- Meb: Looking at the time, we have enough for about two more competitions before we have to end it. What should we do next?
- Yum: What about that game over there?
- Gin: The one where you throw a baseball to open a panel? I'm good at that stuff!
- Son: How about a competition to see which team of four can open the most panels in total, then?
- Suz: Agreed! Sentinel team first. Ayaya, wanna be the first one for once?
- Aya: M-Me as the starter...?
- Yum: And do not forget to shout when you are throwing!
- Aya: O-Okay... I'll give it my all. Okay, what gives me spirit...
- Aya: Thank you very much! Thank you very much! Thank you very much!
- Suz: Good one, Ayaya! Nice shout! Or so I'd like to say, but...
- Yum: None of the balls made it to the target, I am afraid.
- Aya: I'm sorry, I couldn't do anything useful.
- Suz: It's fine. Ayaya, I'll recover all those points for you! A round of cheers, everyone!
- Sum: The Sentinel team's turn ends here.
- Meb: I landed 8, Miroku-san 6 and Suzume 0 to a total of 14 opened panels.
- Suz: Ugh... Mebu, why did you only say my score and not Ayaya's?
- Son: Knocking out 14 panels out of 16 is really impressive! Our seniors never disappoint.
- Gin: It's fine, victory's ours if we score 15! Let's get pumped and give it our all!
- Shi/Son/Sum: Yeah!
- Son: Okay, I'm going first! Memo-memo! Flirty-flirty! Love you!
- Sum: I'll be next! Patriotism! Soul! Banzai!
- Shi: I'll... work hard too. Ei... ei... ei...
- Gin: Okay, I'm up last! They knocked 7 panels out, so I've got 8 to go!
- Gin: Here we go, hype levels maxed!
- Gin: Sonoko! Sumi! Shizuku-san!
- Aya: Wow, all of the balls hit!
- Gin: Aya-san! Mebuki-san! Miroku-san! Suzume-san!
- Suz: Having a ball slam into the target as she yells our names makes me feel a little complicated...
- Yum: Not the time to be concerned about that!
- Meb: She has one ball to go, and if it lands, we lose this round.
- Gin: Here comes the last one! Let's go! Thanks for today, everyone!
- Gin: I did it! I hit! We won!
- Meb: I should be frustrated about our loss...
- Yum: That passionate yell at the end touched even our team.
- Son: Maybe we should just declare Mino-san today's winner and be done with it?
- Yum: Those are two entirely different things!
- Meb: Yes. This game puts us squarely at a tie.
- Suz: We have a bit more time, so let's go for the decisive, final game!
- Gin: You're right. At this point I want a full-on victory!
- Son: And I found a crazy game that's just perfect for the final round. Mwahaha.
- Scorching showdown! Sentinels vs Shinju-kan - 6
- [Spo-sta]
- Son: Our last stage will be this rodeo machine!
- Gin: They even have stuff like that? But how are we going to pick the winner?
- Son: Have two people start at the same time and count the one who falls off first the loser.
- Meb: I see. A clear-cut condition, perfect for the last round.
- Sum: There are two machines free, so let's pick a representative from each team.
- Son: Our representative can only be one person.
- Gin: Heh heh heh, leave it to me!
- Aya: What about the Sentinel team?
- Son: Miroku-senpai has experience, right?
- Yum: N-Nogi-san? Where did that come from, all of a sudden?
- Son: Eh? But you told me before, right?
- Yum: D-Did that ever happen?
- Suz: I remember now! You countered the Sonokos' horse racing experience with "I happen to dabble in rodeo" or something.
- Aya: Then Miroku-senpai will represent our team, I take it?
- Yum: A-A moment, if you would... T-True enough, I did dabble in it... Or so I feel...
- Yum: Ah! Now that I think about it, Suzume-san, did you not confidently declare you would recover those points during the ball throwing?
- Suz: Wait, wait! Why bring that up now!?
- Meb: That's right, Suzume, you do it. Miroku-san and I ended up the only ones taking back any points there.
- Suz: Ugh... Can't exactly refuse when you put it like that, can I? Why'd it have to end in such a mess...
- Son: Mino-san, Suzume-senpai, are your protectors and helmets ready?
- Suz: Y-Yeah... I've gotta say though, these mats all over the floor and this style of complete protective gear...
- Suz: The only thing I can think of is how blatantly dangerous it makes the ride look...
- Gin: Come on, Suzume-san, stop mumbling and get on! It's dangerous if you don't hold on tight!
- Suz: Y-You're right. Mhm. Grip the reins tight so I absolutely do not fall off...
- Son: And now, the final round! The rodeo-off begins!
- Suz: Huh? It's a lot slower than I expected. Sheesh, this is gonna be a breeze.
- Gin: You're right, easy-peasy... Wait, what? I think it's getting faster...
- Gin: Ahaha! Now it's getting fun! Suzume-san, are you okay?
- Suz: O-Of course I'm not okay! Wai-, what is this!? Fast, fast, fast! I'm gonna die!
- Suz: I'm sorry! Let me down! It was my fault! Spare me!
- Yum: I am so glad I managed to avoid this.
- Suz: I'm sorry! I won't do it anymore! Have mercy! I beg of you!
- Sum: It seems like Suzume-san doesn't even understand what she's apologising for anymore.
- Son: But the fact she isn't getting shaken off is very Suzume-senpai-like.
- Meb: The athletic Gin-chan versus Suzume's one strong suit - defence. The fateful final round is going to be a long one.
- Suz: Waah, Mebu! Enough with the clear-minded analysis, just stop this thing already!
