  1. [4:48:16 PM] Zero: so basically it's sort of like, almost a jojo-esque setup, a puzzle fight in the form of a curiously engineered environment designed for interesting power interactions
  2. [4:48:21 PM] Zero: the context is Nobilis
  3. [4:49:40 PM] Zero: basically, there exists a Power of Nostalgia in the setting- the exact aesthetic details of this Power I haven't really fleshed out, but one can be assured it's probably as florid and complicated as any nobilis character probably is
  4. [4:50:24 PM] Zero: this noble has decided, essentially, that the world is going to shit and it's not going to get any better
  5. [4:50:54 PM] Zero: so, they've decided to channel their Nostalgia portfolio to basically turn the inside of their castle-mansion thingy into a dream world dominated by its inhabitants' memories of the past
  6. [4:51:05 PM] Zero: in an attempt to hide from the changing, worsening war against the excrucians
  7. [4:51:51 PM] Zero: this wouldn't really be a HUGE problem were it not for the fact that this particular Power has decided that the best thing to do would be to start kidnapping children 'to preserve their childish innocence', trapping them in the castle of memories where nothing new ever happens
  8. [4:51:57 PM] Zero: and so, the protagonists come in
  9. [4:52:21 PM] Zero: whoever the good guys are- excrucians, other powers, whatever- they've decided that this is completely fucked up and that the castle of memories needs to be abolished from the face of the earth
  10. [4:52:32 PM] Zero: so the players have to lay siege to the castle of memories
  11. [4:54:44 PM] Zero: the problem though is that the castle of memories has actually managed to recruit other Powers to its banner- people who apparently either believe that this is legitimately a good idea, or, more likely, people who've been kidnapped and basically brainwashed by the castle's dreams
  12. [4:54:59 PM] Zero: some of these Powers include the nobles responsible for Barriers and Water
  13. [4:57:23 PM] Zero: so the castle's surrounded by a forcefield all around made of the raw essence of keeping-things-out itself, and it sits in the middle of a moat of water that's actively being controlled by the noble of water so that only the people they want in are allowed to get in and out of the castle
  14. [4:58:50 PM] Zero: the only boat that the inhabitants of the castle use to cross the water is a small rowboat, and the players basically have to hijack the rowboat in order to get inside the castle, where they have to fight through tons of nostalgia-dreams from the original creator of the castle
  15. [4:59:18 PM] Zero: these dreams are, thematically appropriately enough, mostly about water- swimming, whitewater rapid canoeing, paddling in a swimming pool, that sort of thing
  16. [4:59:31 PM] Zero: apparently the original creator of the castle had a lot of good memories with boats and stuff
  17. [5:00:04 PM] Zero: so while the place is technically called a castle, it looks more like a waterpark than anything else and in practice is closer to a game of tower defense where the players have to defend their rowboat from being destroyed by everything trying to destroy it as they paddle their boat through the dream-castle towards the final boss
  18. [5:00:23 PM] Zero: tl;dr: to win, you have to row row fight the power
