  1. My utopia is in the form of a prosperous small village, with different sectors being distinctly separated. The center of the village is the fountain, with the information billboard next to it. The billboard shows the time and date, as well as when the next vote occurs - the village is small enough to use a direct democracy system, and attendance is important. The top left corner has houses which is where most people live. The top right corner has entertainment buildings - a theatre, an arcade, and a museum (from left to right in the picture). The bottom right corner is the school, which contains much of what you would expect for a school, as well as an extensive playstructure and a sports area on the interior of the track (The space to the right of the school is a parking lot, for people who may live farther away from the school.) The bottom left corner has the workplaces (A research lab, a woodworking room, a pet shop, and a hospital, from left to right), where some of the people in the village work. Further past the workspaces is an external store (where some people in the village work at, but is owned by a larger franchise - this is labelled as a superstore). Finally, at the very top there is a large shopping center which also holds many of the things mentioned above, and more.
  2. This picture is not a full picture of the town, but I believe my small snapshot shows a portion of what I believe would be an ideal utopia.

  7. What I think is an ideal utopia is something like our current world, but where the government is far more capable (direct democracy… which also limits expansion) and where the concept of ownership doesn’t exist. This is why my picture shows something that looks akin to current society. (A few changes could probably be made to the picture, to show this concept of not hoarding).
  8. The reason I made my utopia like I did is because I believe it’s the best world there can be (pre-singularity, and with excessive realism, of course). If there’s no work to do, society won’t advance to further science and progress through the world (and you’ll be more bored); but working would just be a thing to do when bored instead of a thing to be forced to focus on. Boredom is the primary driving factor; if people get bored, they could try doing something and destroy the utopia.
  9. Another factor of this utopia is isolation. This is not mentioned in the picture at all, but if it is not isolated, an outside straggler can come in and not know what everyone else has known (which can also result in destroying the utopia). The isolation would prevent people from entering from outside, which seems to be a thing many want, but can also be bad in its own ways; so perhaps there could be a way for the dedicated to enter.
  10. Earlier the progression of science was mentioned. Science is important because advancing the efficiency of devices is needed in a closed system (though if things from outside can enter, it may not quite be closed) allows for further growth. Due to the lack of needing personal items, science would progress more quickly than in the current world.
  11. All of these factors show what I believe a utopia is. The picture is completely unrelated.
