[ 12:28:31 ]  [ Saryx ] Alright, then... It's been at least a couple of days since the lot of us have all started talking to one another on the forum! With talk of forming an Explorer Team already being underway, and intent to have a chat with Rosetta, at the very least, before running off to the middle of not-nowhere, he'd decided to try and get everyone he'd been in contact with on for a group
[ 12:28:32 ]  [ Saryx ] call! Collecting all of their Sightsharings, while you're all flopping about on the Internet, a bubble of sorts pops up on the bottom right hand corner of your computers' monitors; a PokeBall-ish shaped object, red and blue on opposite sides that seem to meld into one another, with wing-esque portrusions, sits at the top right of that blurb. "You have been invited to join
[ 12:28:32 ]  [ Saryx ] a Communal Sightsharing by AMoltenHeart! Do you wish to accept?" reads the message, accompanied by the normal Yes/No buttons. (I really need to stop with these walls of absolute nothing.)
[ 12:31:48 ]  [ Genevieve ] Yes
[ 12:32:02 ]  ! Chase clicks n- of course he clicks yes, this wouldn't be much of a thing if he didn't. He waits for a moment for the video call thing to boot up.
[ 12:33:09 ]  ! @Rosetta receives the invite on her phone, not owning a laptop or larger computer. She plugs in her earbuds and taps the "yes" button.
[ 12:34:14 ]  ! Genevieve accepts from her laptop. When the video loads, she seems to fiddle around with the camera and is definitely wearing stunna shades.
[ 12:34:24 ]  [ Saryx ] One by one, as the accept buttons are clicked, your screens engage in a cinematic clip of sorts playing, where the screen goes black; a glowing ball of azure energy of sorts begins to form in the center, as you're all too familiar from previous uses of Sightsharing. This sphere draws near, an icon with headshots of a Latios and Latias indicating synchronization's occuring
[ 12:34:24 ]  [ Saryx ] blinking in the bottom left corner, before suddenly (or not-so-suddenly) the sphere seems to zoom forth; it's like one of those 'we're going into space' type things, or silly cheapo quality anime cutscenes, where you see the lines of white light running past as if to indicate sudden movement, before it draws to a stop. Four boxes appear, one with what your own webcam
[ 12:34:25 ]  [ Saryx ] portrays up front, and three others with the synchronization icons. One by one, the other boxes fill up with what the others' webcams are feeding.
[ 12:35:12 ]  [ Chase ] After a bit, Chase's cam shows his face from the view of a desktop cam. Yep, same guy who posted his picture on the forums. Behind him his room seems to be filled with a lot of music memorabilia, guitar rack, generally kind of generic, tidy bedroom behind him. Chase himself is well-groomed and not at all the wide-eyed conspiracy nut he probably accidentally presented

[ 12:37:12 ]  ! @Rosetta appears to be lying down on a baby blue sofa with a dark flower pattern over it. Her head sits against one of the armrests, and she's holding the phone of with one hand, the other grabbing a can of Mt. Moon Dew that she takes a gulp from before setting it offscreen on presumably a table. She is wearing her usual attire of a dark, tight-fitting hoodie.

[ 12:38:48 ]  [ Saryx ] For Saryx' feed, like the previous time, his room's rather dark, merely the candlestick and the illumination from the laptop's screen bringing light into his room. His post is zoomed out far enough you can see most of him from the ribcage up, same person as the video feed and the profile pic; his setup beyond that's rather minimal, just a loose, baggy white t-shirt and a
[ 12:38:49 ]  [ Saryx ] ribbon from which a nearly life-sized Horsea dangles covering him. Saryx gazes into the camera. "... Hey. Hey guys, is this thing working?" He tries waving at you all. "Is the feed going through well to everyone?"
[ 12:39:25 ]  [ Genevieve ] "Yeah, it's working just fine for me. What's up?"
[ 12:39:30 ]  [ Chase ] "Yeah, I see you. Whassup?"
[ 12:39:57 ]  [ @Rosetta ] "Whoa hey conference call, who all's who?" The camera zooms in as Rosetta moves the phone closer to her face to read the little screennames.
[ 12:41:18 ]  [ Genevieve ] "I'm Gen, I post as LadyTrubbish."
[ 12:41:22 ]  [ Chase ] "Right, this is Chase, here in Red Blade City. How y'all tonight?"
[ 12:43:07 ]  [ @Rosetta ] "Rosetta, though I actually don't mind being called Razor Wind like I am online. Most of family does, at least once in a while." The camera shifts again as Rosetta sits up, and you can see large mahoghany shelves covered with pristinely kept books stacked up to the ceiling behind the couch.
[ 12:44:30 ]  [ Saryx ] "Great, the feed's working just fine!" Saryx ceases his inane waving. "And Saryx here, though I guess that one shouldn'ta been too hard to guess. Didn't exactly go for anonymity on the website." He pulls back a little, a mildly goofy smile upon his face. "Sorry 'bout that, Razor! Figured since we were all talking to one another it would've been a good idea to just try and

[ 12:47:33 ]  [ Chase ] "Yeah. I hear ya, man. So what's up? Some of us were interested in trying to form an explorer team together, right? Though not all of us, huh?"
[ 12:49:27 ]  ! Chase glances at Genevieve's screenname. "Awww, yeah, she's the smart one, huh. Who was telling us all about 'Different Space'?"
[ 12:49:28 ]  [ @Rosetta ] "I was actually just about to head out for a walk," the camera view shifts yet again, suddenly showing a doorway with a shoerack sitting next to it. Rosetta's head pops back into view, a Natu perched atop it. "but I'll choose the quieter sides of town. Chase and I were talking about making a team, yeah!"
[ 12:50:11 ]  [ Genevieve ] "Haha, yeah, that's me. It's kind of my latest obsession."
[ 12:52:26 ]  [ Chase ] There's a bit of shuffling in the background and you can see a Timburr trying to get a guitar off of a wall rack a few feet off the floor.
[ 12:52:56 ]  [ @Rosetta ] "So uh, lemme get this straight, did we ALL get weirdo outfits from our little trips?" Rosetta begins to head out the door, giving the other conference callers a view of a living room absolutely filled with bookshelves as well as a decent amount of astronomy equipment.
[ 12:53:23 ]  [ Saryx ] Saryx nods at the camera. "Yeah! I know Rose wanted to make one of those Teams, and I was thinking of looking into it more. Planning to talk to Mr. Jenks about it in the morning, see what he thinks ... of...." He totally looks like he's staring at something else now. 's actually the Timburr :D Sokyuut~
[ 12:53:54 ]  [ Chase ] "Well, yeah. Hang on a sec." he gets up and pulls out a clothes hanger that's got the full bard outfit on it. "Bit of a weird story, actually. This is probably a good place to air it if y'all are interested."

[ 12:55:26 ]  [ Chase ] "Okay so like, I'm part of a small band here in Red Blade. Panic! at the Ditto. We take gigs where we can get them. So a bit back we were about to do this show at the Baby Spheal Club, right?"
[ 12:55:59 ]  [ Genevieve ] "Really? Isn't Baby Spheal like a total pit?"
[ 12:56:05 ]  [ @Rosetta ] "Oh huh, like I said I got some sort of ninja outfit in m-" Rosetta is interrupted by the Natu on her head fluttering down and shoving itself in front of the camera, the whole view filled with a particularly piercing, soulless stare. "Trilloby!" The camera shakes as she waves the bird up to her head again. "Sorry 'bout that Chase, go on."
[ 12:56:19 ]  [ Chase ] "Yeah, it is. Really seedy place. But like I said, we took gigs where we could get them."
[ 12:57:38 ]  [ Chase ] "Nah, it's cool. So like, I'm carrying in my buddy's speakers through the back and all of a sudden, I walk into this really nice club. Plush furniture, red velvet carpet, girls serving champagne and shit, and I'm like "...Is this the right place?"
[ 12:59:02 ]  [ Chase ] "And it dawns on me slowly - the guests there weren't even human. They were like, skeletons and ghosts and shit. The band playing on stage was a bunch of ghost pokemon too. And the proprietor of the place is this Gengar who apparently brought me to wherever the hell I was by asking a few Unown."
[ 12:59:55 ]  ! Genevieve slides a notebook off her desk and into her lap and begins to write furiously.
[ 01:00:00 ]  [ Genevieve ] "I like where this is going already."
[ 01:00:35 ]  [ @Rosetta ] "Huh, that sounds sort of like those games...Shinx Meganium....something."
[ 01:01:00 ]  [ Genevieve ] "This Gengar, did he happen to give you his name? Or have bouncers?"
[ 01:01:52 ]  [ Saryx ] Saryx reaches offscreen to the side, dragging a book as well across the desk as he does. He looks at the outfit--OhGodThatNatuhe'svisiblyabitcreepedoutdon'tlookatit--Chase pulled out of the thing, and once he's not freaking out opens the book up, looking ready to write into it. He gives a nod to Chase, and starts scribbling until at one point, once Chase mentions ghosts,

[ 01:02:30 ]  [ Chase ] "I'm gettin' to that. I played a bit of music for the guy then sat down to talk. Apparently he calls himself "The One N' Only, whatever that means. He tells me bad things are gonna start happening. He mentioned terrorists, cultists, all that shit going on in Russia too, and something about people earthin' up secrets Arceus keeps to himself."
[ 01:03:10 ]  ! Genevieve practically lets out a shriek. "Yes yes yes! I knew it!"
[ 01:04:32 ]  [ @Rosetta ] "Russia, huh? Well, they're definitely doing something strange there, or have been, with Unown. But go on."
[ 01:05:02 ]  [ Chase ] "But what he actually asks me to do is look for his 'newborn sister', don't ask me how that even works with ghosts 'cuz I don't know, but I'm all for helping a brother out. Still, he offers to do a few things for me too. My own sister, she vanished four years ago, so he's having people look into that for me. And I drank some kind of weird cocktail that gave me the power

[ 01:06:03 ]  ! @Rosetta squints. "I know Scouts is supposed to be based on a true story, but I didn't think that vodka wizard stuff actually happened."
[ 01:06:29 ]  [ Chase ] "Man, I don't even know. I ain't even heard of scouts."
[ 01:07:11 ]  [ Genevieve ] "This is all great, I wasn't sure One N' Only was on board. Better than I expected even!"

[ 01:07:33 ]  [ Chase ] "I ain't sure I've heard of him before now."
[ 01:07:50 ]  [ @Rosetta ] "You're missing out. But anyway, I can tell you the cultist thing is definitely happening. Or has been, rather." Rosetta pauses a moment, staring off at the glowing mushrooms all around her as she walks the outskirts of town..

[ 01:08:12 ]  [ Genevieve ] "It's complicated. Do Rose and Sary have stories to share? It might be easiest if I go last and do clean up."

[ 01:09:42 ]  [ Chase ] "Shit, what? Yeah, let's hear yours."
[ 01:09:47 ]  ! Chase leans in to hear Rosetta's story.
[ 01:11:41 ]  ! Saryx is in the midst of rubbing his ear with his hand after Gen's shriek. Good lord, that was painful. But he's fixed good now. "Yeah, I'd wanna hear Razor's story. It sounds like hers is a big mess of itself, too. ... I'm really sorry to hear about your brother, though." He sadfish now.
[ 01:11:48 ]  [ @Rosetta ] "I'll keep it short." She takes a deep breath, tugging at her hoodie collar. "First of all," The camera shifts and zooms in on a spot right below her throat where there's a tattoo of an alphic ring, in deep black, like India ink. "I'm a rune master. It runs in the family. We get a handful each generation."
[ 01:12:58 ]  [ @Rosetta ] "My brother wasn't one - at least not that I know. Three months ago, I was in Johto, went to visit the Ruins of Alph. Apparently it's a sort of pilgrimmage Rune Masters tend to make?"
[ 01:13:31 ]  [ Genevieve ] "That sounds right, I bet it's a hotspot for Unown activity."
[ 01:14:14 ]  ! Chase furrows his brow, he doesn't really know what a rune master is but he listens.
[ 01:14:27 ]  [ @Rosetta ] "Naturally, there was a font of pure mystical energy, the kind Unown are made of, deep in the ruins. I went there and sculpted an Unown from it - not too different from what I do, but normally I'm drawing it from myself instead of from an external source."
[ 01:15:45 ]  [ @Rosetta ] "And then...I'm brought into this blue void, asked what side of a war I'm on - one I knew nothing about, mind you. And next thing I knew I was in real-time watching my brother, videocamera in hand, chasing after some thug with Unowns tattooed into him as he yelled something about psalms and heretics."
[ 01:16:22 ]  [ Genevieve ] "Who asked you that?"
[ 01:16:38 ]  [ @Rosetta ] "An Unown."
[ 01:16:56 ]  [ Genevieve ] "That's...hm..."
[ 01:17:07 ]  [ @Rosetta ] "The ones ones from the ruins were a lot more...uptight than the ones I usually summon."

[ 01:18:28 ]  [ @Rosetta ] "Uh...if I had more time than now I could try to remember. Mind you, I didn't make much of this at the time. My brother's always had a habit of getting into all sorts of crazy situations and coming out alright."

"...I guess once you see someone ride a Golem down a mountain like a lumberjack log-rolling, you sorta get the idea they're invincible. My cousin gave me a lot of shit for not speaking up about all this when it happened." She rubs her arm and looks away.
[ 01:21:06 ]  [ Chase ] "I'm sorry to hear 'bout your brother." he offers, after a moment.
[ 01:22:22 ]  [ Genevieve ] "Yeah, sounds like he was a good guy."
[ 01:22:35 ]  ! Saryx tries to reach out to Rosetta through the camera with an arm to patpat her... And then realizes he can't do that he's not an Internet wizard man that's gotta look stupid.
[ 01:24:00 ]  ! @Rosetta nods. "It's alright. Thanks." The phone shifts again, bringing Rosetta's face into focus again. "Anyway, not more than a couple weeks ago now, I get a letter from Norina, my cousin, telling about how my brother died. I fly home of course, and I get the details." She pauses to laugh at Saryx's silly gesture then looks serious again. "Strung up on a flagpole, a symbolic warning carved into him."
[ 01:25:19 ]  [ Genevieve ] "Symbolic?"
[ 01:25:25 ]  [ @Rosetta ] "His room at uni was ransacked too, and all I have is this one video of him ranting about how he's leaving hints in the wild to fuck someone over. Turns out he joined the Ranger Corps and all that just cause of what he found...Oh, and it all has something to do with something called Wanga Dolls."
[ 01:25:40 ]  [ @Rosetta ] "Oh, a face. Ears cut off, mouth sewn shut, eyes gouged out. See nothing, say nothing, hear nothing."
[ 01:25:42 ]  [ Chase ] Haydn, that Timburr from earlier, climbs up and gives a "nigga you srs" look at the Rosetta's window.

[ 01:26:57 ]  [ @Rosetta ] "Annnd...yeah, I went on rambling a bit longer than I should've, yeah? But that's my story." She stoops down slightly, to allow her Natu to have a staring contest with the Timburr.
[ 01:27:31 ]  [ Chase ] Haydn promptly averts his eyes, finding something else to do.

[ 01:27:45 ]  ! @Rosetta nods. "I do. He's my brother, and I trust him. He wouldn't have asked my cuz and I to look for just nothing as a final request, yeah?"
[ 01:28:33 ]  [ @Rosetta ] "All I really know about these cultists is they're killing Rune Masters who aren't with them. So uh, people like my cousin and I..."
[ 01:29:42 ]  [ Genevieve ] "You're in danger. But if there's really a trail out there, you should follow it."
[ 01:29:43 ]  ! Saryx grimaces at the mental image he gets from Rosetta's description of what happened to poor Corbin. "Yeah, that's... That's really out there, Razor..." He reaches offscreen to grab a cup of water, starts drinking and--Wait what now?!? His eyes go wide and he staaaares at Rosetta, attempting to say something but garbled by the water.
[ 01:29:45 ]  [ @Rosetta ] "I should've written this down before taking my walk; there are so many details I'm missing and just remembering now, but they can wait. Saryx, what about you?"
[ 01:30:50 ]  [ Saryx ] Once he swallows, he tries speaking again. "That's what you meant by dodging death? Basically getting hunted down by crazed cultists that are out to kill you?!?"
[ 01:30:52 ]  ! @Rosetta looks at the others and their expressions of concern. "...Don't be too worried. The Unown at the Ruins of Alph thought I'd be fine and safe, or they'd have tried to prepare me more."
[ 01:31:26 ]  [ Chase ] "Being an Explorer is dangerous work anyway."
[ 01:31:28 ]  [ @Rosetta ] "I'd be more in danger if I were directly opposing them." The hand that's not holding the phone comes up and taps at her chin with a finger. "So what I'm doing now, I guess."
[ 01:32:49 ]  [ @Rosetta ] "Anyway uh, Saryx, why don't you go?" Rosetta looks clearly uncomfortable with the somber atmosphere she's created.
[ 01:39:57 ]  [ Saryx ] Saryx puts his glass to the side. "One sec," he says as he jots down something else into his notebook. Once he's done with that, he looks back up. "Well, I think my video covered most of my situation from that night. Went out with that..." Awkward pause. "... Well, hopefully a girl the night before I ended up here. My story of that night isn't my own, though, 'cause of
[ 01:39:57 ]  [ Saryx ] all the alcohol I drank. ... Dad said the aurora appeared in the sky, followed by the bright flash in the sky, and after that the shockwave. Jenks said the sky lit up in Sandkeeper, too, that night, and he found me lying out in the sand when he went out to check..."
[ 01:41:07 ]  [ Genevieve ] "The aurora was in both places? Strange."
[ 01:41:27 ]  [ @Rosetta ] "Do you know how long passed between your passing out and then waking up in the desert? And did the flashes synchronize exactly?"
[ 01:41:53 ]  [ Saryx ] "Like I said before, I can't remember all too much from that night. I'm just looking to find answers for myself in all this mess. ... Sorry, guys..." He hangs his head down, shamed to admit what he had. "... I don't remember Mr. Jenks saying anything about an aurora. It was only the flash of light in both Shiverwing and Sandkeeper..."
[ 01:43:13 ]  [ Genevieve ] "Well, you sound like a lightweight, I was drinking before my trip to Different Space and I remember it all."
[ 01:44:42 ]  [ Chase ] "So was the aurora like, a sign of what... teleported you or whatever?"
[ 01:45:06 ]  [ Chase ] "Oh, wait, ohhh."
[ 01:45:22 ]  [ Chase ] "Yeah I got nothin'."
[ 01:46:04 ]  [ @Rosetta ] "....So what makes you think it was Unown? If we were in person, I'd just pull one out and you two could chat or something..."
[ 01:47:42 ]  [ Genevieve ] "Unown are the key to traveling into Different Space; crossing that kind of distance would require either DS or a powerful psychic teleport."
[ 01:48:18 ]  [ Genevieve ] "I mean, I can't say for sure that it's related, but it's definitely strange."
[ 01:48:51 ]  [ @Rosetta ] "I dunno, that's a lot of lost time he has while passed out. Someone could've easily loaded him on some vehicle between night and morning and dumped him in the desert."
[ 01:49:08 ]  [ @Rosetta ] "Was there some indication the teleportation was instantaneous?"
[ 01:49:32 ]  ! Saryx brings a hand to his face as he tries to think on that himself. "... It miiight have been? I think I remember... Hold on..." Saryx tries to bury himself in thought, eyes shutting as he does. You all catch a glimpse of one of those 'Aaaaw yeah~' types of smiles creeping across his face, before he shakes it off, yelling at himself. "No, no, stop thinking about--Wait!
[ 01:49:32 ]  ! Saryx I remember something" The lightbulb goes off. "... Whoever I was with that night, she was looking up at the sky while we were messing around, and she tried to pull me down to the ground. ... I think I was more the one who... got her down, though, when she said that." Flushed face.

[ 01:53:09 ]  ! @Rosetta has gotten a shit-eating grin on her face and is covering her mouth and trying not to laugh as well. You see from the background of her camera view that she's sitting up in a tree branch now, and she's making a concerted effort not to burst into giggles and topple off.
[ 01:53:49 ]  [ Genevieve ] "And he can't even talk about it without sounding like he's twelve." Gen shrugs and rolls her eyes behind the sunglasses.
[ 01:56:30 ]  [ Saryx ] "It's embarassing to talk about, okay?!?" Saryx bursts out, yelling at the camera and arms a'flailing, looking at one of the screens in particular. "I already got enough shit about it from Dad, and I'm pretty sure I traumatized my little brother Eiric when I was talking about how I was gonna smash her into pieces before I blacked out!"
[ 01:57:12 ]  [ Genevieve ] "Pff, it's just a sex, it's not embarassing."
[ 01:57:48 ]  [ @Rosetta ] "...Do you usually smash your sexual partners into pieces?" Rosetta asks with concern.
[ 01:57:50 ]  [ Saryx ] ... Aaaand then he looks face first at the monitor. Over at the door. Aaaand back at the camera, this time looking pretty much mortified. A sheepish ". . . sorry about that . . ." is all that falls out from his lips after.
[ 01:58:25 ]  [ Genevieve ] "Anyway, since you've got nothing, should I put the pieces together for everyone?"
[ 02:00:30 ]  [ @Rosetta ] "I kinda want to hear more about Saryx's misadventures! Actually, it sort of reminds me of what Corbin used to get all caught up in..." Rosetta shifts on her branch and hops down, then continues as she lifts the camera back up to her face. "Anyway, probably should, you think you have the missing pieces to all this then, yeah?"
[ 02:00:45 ]  [ Saryx ] Saryx tries to grab at what you can only assume is Rosetta's portrait on the screen, causing his whole set-up to shake and become displaced. The shaking garbles out what Saryx said, somewhat, though you're pretty sure it was nothing good. "... Yeah, I'm sorry... You can go now, Gen..." He fixes the monitor and takes a sip of water to try and cool himself down.
[ 02:01:31 ]  [ @Rosetta ] "Wait hold on." Rosetta lifts a finger to the camera. "What kind of outfit did you get?"
[ 02:01:56 ]  [ Chase ] "Wow, talk about overreacting, man. Yeah, go on."
[ 02:10:24 ]  [ Saryx ] "Outfit, ummm... Gimme one sec here..." Saryx tilts the camera towards a wooden dresser standing upright on the side of the room, and begins systematically removing everything from within. A lot of identical, loose-fitting clothes and robes, some wooden carvings, a couple of tools and stuff, and... "... This look like it might be anything proper?"
[ 02:11:40 ]  ! @Rosetta moves the phone closer to her face to get a better look. What is it?
[ 02:11:43 ]  [ Chase ] "Huh, weird. But yeah, guess you did."

Like Chase, but I came to a sort of hub rather than directly into someone's domain. Let's call it the God Crossing."
[ 02:17:40 ]  ! Saryx attempts to put all his stuff back quickly, but soon as Gen starts talking he stops and re-positions himself, assuming the previous position.
[ 02:17:56 ]  [ Genevieve ] "Seven different paths, one led to the One N' Only's place, where Chase went. The other open one went to an infinite library where I met the Writer, who healed the Unown and told me most of the information I'm relaying to all you now."

[ 02:21:26 ]  [ Saryx ] "... Sort of dead?" Saryx headtilt.
[ 02:22:42 ]  [ Genevieve ] "The Writer is human like us. She is overseeing the library, but isn't a god herself. The god is gone, but he has a successor. I'm like 95% certain it's the sister One N' Only mentioned to Chase."
[ 02:23:49 ]  [ Genevieve ] "If I'm right about the cultists Rosetta's family is mixed up with, they should be called something like the Sons of Grant and are trying to deliberately upset the already crumbling balance. So finding the sister and getting her to fully ascend is super critical."
[ 02:23:58 ]  [ @Rosetta ] "Is she a Rune Master? Er, Maker. Someone with an innate connection to the Unown and the ability to summon them. We have a couple different names...I think." Rosetta scratches her head.

The only one who would keep the balance anyway, another combination might be able to ascend but could also wipe a type out of existence or something, haha."

[ 02:34:29 ]  [ @Rosetta ] "Does the Writer have a name other than that? Kind of...stuffy just calling her that kind of title. The same with One N' Only."
[ 02:35:54 ]  [ Genevieve ] "She does, but, uh, I seem to have buried it in my notes, I'll find it for you later. One N' Only seems to be his actual name, being a deity and all that. Rules over truth and bliss, by the way."
