- >"Ferg! Get out of the kitchen or we're starting without you!" -Marco yelled toward where Ferguson had tried to sneak away for a quick snack while everyone else was setting up their dungeon romp for the night.
- >"Awww, I just wanted to see if you had any leftover chili that your Dad made a few nights ago..." -Ferguson said sheepishly as he slunk back toward the biggest table in the house that was currently topped with Janna's D&D set
- >Speaking of Janna....
- >"HEY JANNA! WE'RE ABOUT TO START, SO YOU CAN STOP RUMMAGING THROUGH MARCO'S CLOSET!" -Star called in the direction of the stairs, figuring that she'd come running; they hadn't rolled for who was gonna be DM yet, and Janna had seemed really eager to give it a go.
- >"COMING! I just had to go...use the bathroom, is all." -Janna yelled back, barreling down the stairs while stuffing what appeared to be a pair of boxers into her backpack while pulling out a couple of bottles of "soda" that she'd brought from home for the occasion.
- >After everyone sat down and started getting settled (and grabbed some snacks and something to drink), they all rolled for who was going to DM the game.
- >Alfonzo barely won, rolling a 19 over Hope's 18
- >"YES, I'll make a great DM, and be very Tyrannical!" -Alfonzo stated, pumping his fists in the air as everyone groaned
- >"Don't make us reroll the dice again Al...." -Janna threatened, readying a rubberband and aiming it at Alfonzo's head as she spoke
- >"Kidding, kidding! Geez...can't take a joke..." -Alfonzo pouted while pulling up his DM screen and started writing out a scenario as the others picked their classes
- >"I think I'll be a Monk, as this set doesn't seem to have Ninja in it's list of classes" -Marco said dejectedly, rolling for stats and writing them down as Alfonzo noted his class
- >"Hey Marco, blame my Dad, not me, it's his set after all..."-Janna said, having picked a Rogue and rolling for her stats
- >"Then I'll be a BARBARIAN! RAWWRRR" -Star yelled while banging her hands on the table, almost knocking over a few drinks and causing a few of the laser puppies to start barking in excitement
- >"I'll pick a Bard I guess..." -Sabrina said, eyeing the class sheet with sadness. She'd hoped that they had Sword Dancer, but a Bard was fine too
- >"My spirit animal wants me to a Druid...for reasons" -Ferguson said while a few of the others snickered, remembering his story
- >"I'll be...I'll be a Cleric then!" -Hope stated; she'd always had a thing for classes who could heal
- >"Then it's settled, give me a few minutes to finish out the scenario and we can start" - Alfonzo muttered, trying to finish before everyone got restless
- >As Alfonzo finished up, the others slowly started on their snacks and read up on their chosen class's traits and abilities
- >"Now then! Your party has decided to take on a bounty for a peasant village to clear out a nearby cave of goblins..."-Alfonzo started them off, listing the options available to them to start their adventure
- >"How should we decide where to go first?" -Hope asked, not sure how they would decide anything with so many people playing
- >"We could roll; highest roller gets to decide where we go next?" -Janna offered, not remembering to bring the game manual that came with the set
- >"I guess we could do that, anyone have any objections?" -Marco asked, to which everyone shook their heads
- >"MY SPIRIT ANIMAL! IT CALLS TO ME FROM THE FOREST! MY PEOPLE NEED ME!" -Ferguson yelled, which caused Alfonzo to ask him to roll to see if he would run into the forest in a crazed frenzy or not
- >He rolled a 2
- >"And Ferguson the Druid runs off into the woods on a quest to help his spirit animal, leaving his friends behind, confused and slightly forlorn" -Alfonzo narrated as Ferguson got up and walked into the kitchen again, presumably to look for that leftover chili
- >Marco just sighed and asked everyone to roll to decide where to go next
- >Hope rolled the highest, with a 16
- >Squealing in delight, she commanded that they go into the cave to fight the goblins on behalf of the village
- >Bravely venturing into the cave, the party found it fairly empty, barring some undead goblins and crazed apprentice necromancers who had apparently massacred the local goblin population to try and fuel a dark ritual to summon a eldritch deity, which had seemingly failed, killing most of the necromancers
- >Sabrina's Bard was sadly killed in action by failing a balance check and falling into a pit
- >The party didn't find any decent loot either, due to Janna's Rogue being too busy flirting with Marco's Monk to bother looking for treasure or traps
- >Which caused Star's Barbarian to fly into a rage, separating the party as Janna's Rogue fled from Star's Barbarian's attempts to kill her Rogue
- >Leaving Marco's Monk and Hope's Cleric to try and see if they could salvage the mission by collecting dead goblin's teeth to show to the villagers as proof of their "deed"
- >After the two finally found their way out of the cave, Star's Barbarian broke through an outer wall, with Janna's Rogue close behind, being chased by a large group of undead goblins
- >Which promptly killed the entire party due to sheer numbers
- >Which left only Ferguson's Druid as the sole survivor
- >At least until his spirit animal grew bored and ate him
- >"This situation is stupid, you couldn't DM to save yourself from a pack of wild werepigs!" -Star muttered as she chugged whatever soda-like drink that Janna had brought over
- >"Hey, my scenario wasn't stupid, you guys just couldn't play as a team, was all!" -Alfonzo said, prickled at Star's challenge to his DM abilities
- >"I was just hungry...your Dad's a great cook by the way Marco" -Ferguson said, attempting not to burp after he had finished off that chili he had so desired
- >Sabrina just tried to not cry while Hope consoled her
- >Even in imaginary games her luck was terrible
- >"I got to punch some goblins, so I'm fairly happy...did you guys wanna watch a movie to round off the night or something?" -Marco asked
- >"Oooh, I've got a copy of Kung Pow we could watch" -Janna suggested, eager at the opportunity to snuggle up with Marco while he was awake
- >"MOVIE NIGHT!" -everyone yelled as they grabbed the rest of the snacks and ran toward the couch in the living room, D&D game abandoned for the time being in favor of more modern entertainment.
