Heist the Bomb, Part 1

<DM> *You are all standing in the middle of the marketplace in Hyrule City. You are looking south, in the direction of Chudley's questhouse. The sun hangs high in the sky to the west, indicating that it is before Noon*

<Maliki> *having left herian out side the city with instructions to keep out of sight till he called for the wolfos he wandered around the village slowly looking around  he wistles a little and walks into the quest house to see if there were any work to be haqd
<DM> *The marketplace is quite busy at this time of day, with the many people who live in the city walking through the area; collecting food and other items they need for their day to day lives"
* Dhoo just wanders around looking at stuff.
* Amilena is keeping to the shadows for the most part, surveying the wares.
<DM> @Maliki: *You enter Chudley's Questhouse. You are greeted with a rather empty interior with a quest board to the back, behind a tall slim man with a large pointy mustache clad in mostly earthen-tones.*
* Chudley looks in Maliki's direction
* Maliki smiles and walks over to the board looking it up and down
* Amilena goes to see how Monroe is doing.
<Chudley> "You here, you odd-looking wolfos thing."
<Maliki> "don't you mean you there?" he suggests he walks over to chudley "Can i help you?"
<Chudley> "Hello and welcome to my questhouse. Need to do any questing?"
<Maliki> "a job perhaps?"
<DM> @Amilena *You enter Monroe's shop. As you enter the door to his shop, you notice a man behind a counter. Behind the man is racks filled with showcase examples of various items and weapons plus an array of scrolls. On the backwall above Monroe is a large frozen sword, which is not for sale*
<Amilena> (Heh, I know that sword...)
<Amilena> "Hey Monroe, you have any word on where I can go hunting for treasure and adventure? I need some money again."
* Monroe thinks about the question for a moment and replies "Of course! I believe Chudley has gotten some more... reasonable job requests at his place today. Be prepared to snag them from his place before they all go!"
<Amilena> "You still willing to buy anything interesting things I find along the way?"
<Monroe> "Of course! Give me a hoot when you have some interesting treasures you want to sell me"
* Amilena flashes a thumbs up as she walks out the door and over to Chudley's.
* Chudley grins at Maliki "Do you know of a person called Dhoo?"
* Dhoo ears feel hot.
* Monroe waves at Amilena as she left his shop
<Maliki> "not sure i do sir"
<Maliki> "i'm pretty new around here"
<DM> @Ameliena: *You enter Chudley's Questhouse to see Chudley talking with a Maliki*
<Chudley> "Know of any Werewolfos, as in people who can transform into a Wolfos and back"
* Dhoo walks into Chudley's Questhouse.
* Dhoo waves at everyone.
<Amilena> Heya Maliki.
<Maliki> "no can't say i do sir"
* Maliki turns to Amilena  "do i know you?" he wasn't sure
<Amilena> (I believe we've quested together before.)
<DM> @Dhoo *You enter the questhouse to see Maliki, Amilena and Chudley all talking with each other.*
<Maliki> (okie dokie then!)
<Dhoo> Am I interrupting something?
* Chudley quickly waves at Amilena and looks in Dhoo's direction with a smirk on his face.
<Amilena> Surprised you don't remember me considering the craziness of that grotto we tore through last time around.
<Maliki> "its been a while i guess is all amilena" he shrugs "light in heres a bit odd too"
<Chudley> "Hey there! Know of a person by the name of Dhoo, or Wolfgang Moddey Baskerville?"
<Amilena> Nope. Never met him.
<Dhoo> I'm going to regeret this, but yeah, he's me. I'm him.
<Amilena> I don't think we've met either. My name is Amilena. I hunt treasures for Monroe from time to time.
<Maliki> "which one?"
<Chudley> "My name is Chudley and I am Hyrule City's official questbroker"
* Chudley looks at Dhoo
<Chudley> "Hey Dhoo, someone has sent you a special job request"
<Dhoo> Well I was looking for a job with the town guard, but I suppose I can apply later. Gimme the details on this job and I'll decide if I want to do it.
* Chudley rummages through his pockets and handed Dhoo a letter; addressed to him, with the words "Special request for Dhoo. Contents are for Dhoo's eyes only"
* Dhoo reads the letter.
<Amilena> "You have anything involving treasure hunting?"
<Chudley> "Ah yes. I have several quests that involve treasure hunting on the board behind me. Feel free to take a look"
* Chudley moves out of the way of the board
* Maliki looks at the board of questing!
<DM> @Dhoo: *You open the letter and you read:*
<DM> "Dear Dhoo. We have been observing your exploits, both legal and illegal, and we have decided to invite you to the Scarlette Pack for assistance in pursuing a cause of good. We wish to chase down a caravn carrying a Powder Keg, which we believe is linked to Thougher's army"
<Dhoo> Hmmm... seems good enough. Chudley I accept.
<DM> "We wish to ask for your assistance in taking down this carvan. In exchange for taking this job, we will award you with a hefty 5000 Rupees and two scrolls once we take down the caravan. Meet us in Hyrule Field near the entrance to Kokiri Forest tonight"
<DM> *500 Rupees
<DM> "ps. Bring any friends with you. We need all the help we can get"
<DM> "Signed: Lupo Scarlette, leader of the Scarlette Werewolfos gang"
<Dhoo> Where am I going to get help?
<DM> (Maliki, and Amilena of course)
<DM> Anyhow...
<Maliki> "depends what you want help for?"
<Dhoo> Stopping some powder keg from getting to some bad guys.
<DM> @Maliki: You look at the quest board to see a large list of quests... which request you to do crazy stuff like finding Din's Fire and discover a dungeon under Lon Lon Ranch*
* Kirran yoinks the dungeon quest before anyone can read it.
<Maliki> "sounds do able what you paying?" *not that the dingo has ever seen any way to spend any money o,o
<Dhoo> I pay in job experience, something to do, and a good time.
<Dhoo> Honestly, I'm not the one hiring. I was just told that I might need help on this job.
<Dhoo> The payment would probably be between 500 and 5000 rupees though.
<Maliki> "what about you amilena whats that job look like?"
<Amilena> I like a good time.
<Amilena> Besides, a quest is always easier when you know where the treasure is.
<Maliki> "righto then i guess what the hell i'm bored anyway"
<Dhoo> Ok, well we need to head to the Kokiri Forest entrance tonight. That's where I'm meeting my employer.
<Maliki> "just be for warned i have a freind out side the city who will come to meet us he might suprise you a little just don't freak out"
<Dhoo> It takes a lot to freak me out.
<DM> (WHat's not to freak out when you are greeted with a Wolfos lapping at you)
* Chudley looks in Dhoo's direction
<Chudley> "Is the job request alright for you, Dhoo?"
<Dhoo> Yeah, no problem here.
<Chudley> "Cool. Glad to be doing business with you"
<DM> (Alright. Job request taken)
<DM> *Outside of the building, the sun still hangs high over land; though it is floating a little eastward, indicating early afternoon. I'm gonna allow you time to shop*
<DM> *If there is any shopping you are going to have to do, then do it now.*
<Dhoo> eh im good
<Maliki> (i'll do it some day but today isn't that day)
<Amilena> Yeah, I just need to update, but I'll do it as we go along.
<DM> (So, everyone ready?)
<Dhoo> i am
<Amilena> yep
<Maliki> yep
<Herian> arf
<DM> (Alright)
<DM> (Autotravel to the camp?)
<DM> (Err location)
<Maliki> *after we leave the city and get herian i guess sure! *
<DM> (If you want to roll it as that, sure)
<Dhoo> auto travel is fine with me
<Herian> *As they leave the city the wolfos bowls maliki over for hugs and gets an ear scratch and gets up*
<DM> (*poke* Amilena
* Amilena shrugs
<Maliki> "this is my freind herian he's friendly not to worry  about him*
<Herian> *arf's an english accent don't ask why or how*
<Dhoo> Alright let's head out then.
<DM> *Using the road to Kokiri Forest as a guide, you all travel to the location specified in Dhoo's letter. You are facing East and you are at an expanse of grass split in half by the road which goes between a mass of trees. Trees and bushes are dotted about on the field and the last of the sun's light has sunk beneath the horizon as an errie Wolfos howl (which you as players recgonize) besets the land*
<Herian> *howls back!*
<DM> (FYI, here's the rules on cutting bushes)
<DM> Cutting bushes randomly drops items as the result of a $1d8 roll per bush cut. A result of 1 results in a random item drop, a result of 2-4 results in dropping $#d3 Rupees, where # equals to Your Total Affinity Levels.
<DM>     When a bush would drop a random item, roll $1d4. A result of 1 drops a Restoration Heart, a result of 2 drops a Magic Jar and all other results drop $#d30 Rupees, where # equals to Your Total Affinity Levels.
<Dhoo> Well this is where we need to be.
<DM> *Suddenly, you hear footsteps rushing towards you.*
<Amilena> From what direction?
<DM> *From the East
<DM> *As the clatter of footsteps gets louder, a humanoid figure obscured by darkness comes into view*
* Dhoo waves at the figure.
* Amilena does not like this idea, considering the last time she had to deal with shadowy figures.
<DM> *As the figure approaches, you could make out what appears to be a glowing yellow orb in his hands and slithers of light reflecting off a bunch of armor pieces.*
<DM> *It doesn't appear to be hostile*
<Dhoo> Hi.
<Amilena> You know this person?
<Dhoo> Nope.
* Mysteriousfigure waves back to Dhoo and approaches.
* Maliki waves herian would be amongst the trees watching
<DM> *As Mysteriousfigure approached, his figure reveals itself to be a toned male Hylian dressed in red and crimson. He sports black greasy hair and a scarred face, giving off an intimidating appearance*
<Mysteriousfigure> "Greetings fellow travellers."
<Dhoo> Hi.
* Mysteriousfigure looks in Dhoo's direction "Are you Dhoo, or Wolfgang Moddey Baskerville?"
<Dhoo> Yep.
<Mysteriousfigure> "Indeed"
<Dhoo> Just call me Wolfgang.
<Mysteriousfigure> "Do you have a letter sent by a man by the name of Lupo Scarlette?"
<Dhoo> Yep.
* Dhoo shows the guy the letter.
<Mysteriousfigure> "Hmm..."
<Mysteriousfigure> "My name is Lupo Scarlette and I am the leader of the Scarlette Werewolfos pack"
<Dhoo> How's that working out for you?
<Lupo> "Not too terribly. We have been looking out for possible Keaton activity and acting upon it... except for the fact that we had to cast a well established member of the gang out"
<Dhoo> Well, I'm not really looking to join a pack but I certainly am looking to mess up some potential Keaton activity.
<Maliki> "whats a keaton again?"
<Lupo> "Keaton are a race of anthropomorphic foxes, usually golden in colour, that bear three tails. Most of the Keaton in Hyrule have joined the cause of the infamous Bandit King, Thoughter, who is a Keaton himself"
<Maliki> "they sound kind of cute " he smiles
<Dhoo> Right, so what's the plan?
* Lupo blandly replied "They should not be underestimated in the slightest. They can be some pretty nasty people", seeming to direct attention to the large scar on his face
<Lupo> "The plan is for us to retreat to the camp we have set up at the edge of Kokiri Forest for the night and set out to intercept the caravan before it reaches the entrance of Spryte Moblin Woods village. The caravan is scheduled to set out early in the morning, but we should get there just before sunrise just in case they arrive early."
<Maliki> "ok then"
<Dhoo> Sounds good.
<Amilena> Got it.
<Lupo> "Alright, follow me"
<Herian> *the large wolfos steps out of the woods and falls into line with the others
* Lupo glances at Herian before he himself transforms into a Wolfos and trots away to the east.
<Maliki> "Thats new"
<Dhoo> It sure is.
<Lupo> (Follow?)
<Dhoo> yes
<DM> @Dhoo: *You being following Lupo"
<Maliki> *Also follows*
<Herian> *Follows maliki*
<DM> (me pokes Amilena )
<DM> (No response)
* Dhoo picks up and carries Amilena.
<Amilena> There will be none of that now sir.
* Amilena hops the heck back down and walks on her own, thank you very much.
* Dhoo shrugs.
<DM> *You all follow Lupo along the edge of Kokiri forest. Despite it being night in the field, you don't seem to run into monsters... except for a few Keese which seemed to flee in Lupo's presence*
<DM> *After a few minutes of walking, you reach a small secluded area of the field; populated with a couple of tents and lit up via campfire. You could see four people working in the vicinity of the tents"
* Amilena goes auto-follow for a little while.
* Lupo looks at the camp ahead and nodded "This is our camp for the night. Enjoy your stay and don't forget to get to know the rest of my gang."
<Dhoo> Hi.
<Maliki> "So how do you do the whole shape shifting thing?
<Lupo> "Only a special subrace of Hylians can perform this shapeshifting - Werewolfos"
<Lupo> "There is also a powerful artifact that can forcefully transfigure people into Wolfos, but I'd rather not get into that"
<Maliki> "So can you talk to herian over there " he wondered
<DM> *One of the people working in the vicinity of the campfire walks up to the group.
* WorkingPerson looks at Dhoo "Hello, and welcome to our gang. I believe Lupo has briefed you over what we plan to do tommorrow morning"
<Dhoo> Yeah he gave us a basic run down.
<WorkingPerson> "My name is Nermal Lyca and I am a member of the Scarlette Gang"
<Maliki> "hi there nermal"
* Nermal is a bulky well built fair-skinned Wereolfos.
<Dhoo> I'm Wolfgang and this is Amilena and Maliki.
<Amilena> Hey there
<Nermal> "Hows your lives treating ya?"
<Herian> *in wolfos * "and I am herian" in an English accent because that amuses me
<DM> *One of the figures glances at the group, shying away as his eyes connected with Lupo's*
<Dhoo> Well I'll be a lot better once we take care of this Keaton caper.
* Nermal glanced at Herian and looked at Maliki. "Mr Maliki, glad to see that you have been taking care of such a big Wolfos. How did you get him?"
<DM> (brb)
<Maliki> "Some idiots had him in chains and set him loose to try and kill me i talked him out of it
<DM> (back)
<DM> *The same figure that looked over the group before now approached the group talking"
* Nermal looks at the approaching figure and mentions "...And this guy over here is Kitt Inga, the secondary leader; usually running the camp or hideout when the leader is away."
<Maliki> "hi kitt"
* Kitt responded to Maliki's greeting "Hi Furry guy"
<Kitt> "Whats up guys?"
<Dhoo> Getting pumped to fight!
<Kitt> "Alright"
<Kitt> "We are going to be discussing what we are going to do for the raid tomorrow morning. Why not just sit down by the fire and discuss?"
* Maliki sits by the fire
* Kitt sits by the fire
* Herian claims the spot beside maliki
* Nermal sits by the fire
* Lupo sits by the fire
<DM> *The other two gang members sit down by the fire*
* Dhoo stands around the fire.
* Lupo looks around and stands up tall above everyone else.
<Lupo> "Tonight, we shall hold one final discussion about what we shall do tomorrow morning"
<Maliki> "any idea what we will be up against protecting the cart?"
<Lupo> "We will be up against many Keaton bandits, I estimate that there will be about 10 of them; which we alone could not deal with"
<Lupo> "There are four people who are on the caravan itself, including two unfortunate pawns, and the other two being suspected Keaton."
<Dhoo> I say we hit them hard and fast.
<Lupo> "Past those four will have be at least two Keaton mounted on horses"
<Dhoo> In fact why don't we attack now? Some of them are bound to be asleep.
<Maliki> "so we fell a tree in the path and attack seems simple
<Lupo> "The caravan has not left yet and is still at Death Mountain"
<Lupo> "Trying to get there means we will have to go though Kakariko Village and what we do may not go down so well"
<Lupo> "Since they will only see the pawns getting attacked"
<Lupo> "Anyways, the attack won't be as simple as felling a tree in the path - they are bound to have countermeasures against that."
<Lupo> There will also be multiple Keaton hanging closely behind the caravan in case it gets attacked.
<Lupo> "Normally the Keaton would be easily recgonizable, but they are likely have got their hands on masks that change their appearance."
<Lupo> "Alfa has recorded a large spike in Mask purchases yesterday, mostly of Hylian and Goron Masks"
<Lupo> "This will make it much harder to catch the lagging Keaton before we attack"
<Maliki> "SO surround them before you attack?"
<Lupo> "Our plan of attack is that we will split up into two parties; one will intercept the caravan from the front and lead the attack there while the other party will try to distract the laggers by attacking from the back"
* Amilena gets fidgity at the mention of masks.
<Amilena> We, uh, we don't like masks I take it...
<Maliki> "they are magic here?"
<Lupo> "Correct. Transformation masks are a VERY common form disguise the Keaton use to spy in major towns and cities"
<Amilena> >_>
<Amilena> <_<
<Amilena> I see.
<Maliki> "you have one on don't you?"
<Lupo> "We have plenty of Hylian Masks in stock, as well as several Goron and Subrosian masks"
* Amilena remains silent on the subject.
<Maliki> "whats a subrosian?"
<Lupo> "Subrosians are a race of people who are almost entirely covered in a robe, except for a set of glowing eyes admist the robes.
<Lupo> "Anyhow, back on track"
<Lupo> "One of our parties will consist of Dhoo and his friends, tagging along with Kitt"
<Lupo> "This party will be attacking the caravan directly"
<Dhoo> Sounds good.
<Lupo> "The second party will consist of the rest of our gang and we will try to distract the laggers"
<Amilena> I wonder how Keatons feel about flame pits.
* Kitt smirked and praised "Excelent plan Lupo"
<Lupo> "...And don't get any bright ideas Kitt. We don"
<Lupo> *don't want to set the nearby trees on fire while you are at it"
<Herian> "no that would be terrible"
<Lupo> "Umm yeah. Kitt can get a bit strange at times."
<Lupo> "He's a powerful mage who likes to blast entire groups to oblivion using Fire and Lighting to get past enemy cover"
<Lupo> "You don't want to mess around with him"
<Lupo> "You may also encounter enemies on your way to the caravan. Stalchildren are especially annoying in that regard"
<Maliki> "just hit them realy hard with a hammer they don't seem to hold up too well "
<Lupo> "You'd be surprised about how much strength they have. They could easily hold up to a hammer blow"
<Lupo> "If he can get a good aim, he could easily wipe them all out in one fell swipe, but he needs to be covered or the fragments of bone that explodes from him could easily prove lethal.
<Lupo> *Kitt
<Lupo> *from stalchildren
<Lupo> "However, the biggest threat you may encounter on the field other than the Keaton are stray poes"
<Maliki> "then you need a bigger hammer"
<Lupo> "Anyways, any questions?"
<Maliki> "nope thats good lets get some sleep"
<Dhoo> i think its pretty straight forward
<Amilena> And dream shiny dreams.
<DM> Alright
<DM> *You all rest up at the camp for the night, getting your energy back for departing early in the morning*
<DM> *Meanwhile your dreams seems to run into a familiar haunting setting...*
<Amilena> Oh hell no, not the Pot House....
<DM> *A loading screen appears as the quest session ends*
