  1. The final floor of the dungeon is floor 10.
  2.
  3. Be prepared; there's brimstone, magma, and lava lakes you'll need to pass, quite a few fire elementals to deal with, and, of course, a TON of goblins around. The outside of the fortress is guarded by no fewer than 100 enemies; mostly goblins, but there's a small handful of trolls and ogres around, and various enemies from the map can wander over there.
  4.
  5. - Crowd control spells like Fireball/Lightning Bolt/Fire Lotus really help, or even just spamming Magic Missile because it's so low on the mana cost, as does the Cleave feats for any melee-oriented characters.
  6.
  7. - Archers just need to be patient and plink the enemies to death with arrows from afar, one by one.
  8.
  9. - Unarmed combatants, or those who use natural attacks (claws, biting, etc.) just have to be patient, and try to fight them one by one; not having Cleave is an annoyance, but by this point, natural/unarmed attacks can come out lightning-fast and do a lot of damage to a single target, so you have as good a chance as any, just it'll take a while.
  10.
  11. The fortress is surrounded by a steel fence, which you can phase through with various spells like Passwall, but the fortress itself is made of adamantium, which cannot be phased through. The fortress can be teleported into, though.
  12.
  13. There are a few Guardian Statues which guard the entrance side entrances to the fortress' inner sanctum; they are quite rough opponents in melee, as they hit really hard and they have a constant Shatter effect as a persistent buff, it seems; striking the statues in melee does a ton of shattering damage to your weapon, so I can't see it being feasible to even consider attacking these statues head-on, unless you happened to bring a small armory of spare weapons with you, or you're using some kind of spell-produced construct weapon. I assume the shatter damage will harm you directly if you attack the statue with natural attacks (punching, clawing, biting, etc.) The statues are also immune to every spell in the game but 3: Shatter, Transform Rocks to Mud, and Soften Stone. These spells can destroy them without much trouble at all. Mages, Druids, some Priests, Bards, and Blackguards each have access to at least one of those 3 spells. Any other class will have to either teleport past the statues, blast them with a wand of shatter, or come up with something creative to get past them.
  14.
  15. Inside the fortress' inner sanctum is another steel fence, and beyond it are several very powerful goblin spellcasters (they like to spam summons), guardian runes on the floor which can be stepped over, but constantly try to confuse/stun you, and, of course, Murgash himself, wielding a +5 scimitar of [insert half a dozen magical qualities here]. At this point, you just wanna kill Murgash as quick as you can, then run the hell away from everything. You win by getting to the first floor and using the stairs, so just run up the stairs and ignore everything else.
  16.
  17. You'll likely reach character level 11, the level cap, long before reaching dungeon level 10. In that case, unless you really need some new items/equipment, I would just skip the remaining floors and head straight down to the final showdown.
