Atop the aircraft carrier "Over the Rainbow," a VTOL carrying the Second Child Tania Clarke and her commanding officer Leon Raczkowski has just

[20:51] <@Champion> Waiting to greet them are two men in naval uniforms, who Leon identifies as a rear admiral and a captain respectively. Between the two, a boy in a blue jumpsuit with shaggy brown hair stands waiting for them, likely the First Child Jack Murdock. The older, slightly portlier man bears a graying moustache, and takes the lead as he greets the two, saying "Welcome aboard the flagship Over the
[20:51] <@Champion> Rainbow. I am Rear Admiral Tarpus, and I am pleased to have such important members of today’s military with us today."
08[20:53] * Leon_Raczkowski exits the craft and gives Tarpus a firm salute, followed by a less stiff one for the captain. "Pleasure is ours Admiral. Leon Raczkowski. And I'm guessing this is Jack right?"
06[20:55] * Tania_Clarke looks at the First Child with an expression of wonder, slightly parting her lips as if she wanted to say something... before closing them and adopting a neutral expression.
06[20:55] * Jack_Murdock straightens his back, and gives a salute to Leon, 'Yes, sir. Ensign Jack Murdock of the Berlin Branch.'
[20:55] <@Champion> The admiral nods, before turning to Jack. "Correct. Why don't you go introduce yourself, Murdock?" the man suggests, guesturing to Jack.
08[20:56] <Leon_Raczkowski> "Well someone's sharp. I didn't realize when they said you were military you were that military."
[20:57] <@Champion> The captain laughs, speaking up for the first time. "Indeed, he's more disciplined than most of our grunts," he says jovially.
[21:00] <Jack_Murdock> "That's probably because I'm better than all of your grunts."
08[21:00] <Leon_Raczkowski> "Sharp and arrogant."
06[21:00] * Tania_Clarke glances at the First one more time before seemingly losing interest, and starts looking around.
[21:01] <@Champion> "True, true. I haven't seen any good soldiers since the wars. People have gone fat with peace," the admiral says spitefully.
[21:01] <@Champion> Tarpus looks to the sole girl amongst the group, and gives her a quizical look. "And she woud be...?"
08[21:02] <Leon_Raczkowski> "Fat with peace. Mmhmm. Oh, introduce yourself Tania."
06[21:02] * Jack_Murdock folds his arms together and just stands there staring at Leon before looking over to the girl
06[21:03] * Tania_Clarke reacts only on cue from her OD.
[21:03] <Tania_Clarke> I'm Tania Clarke, pilot of Unit 01.
08[21:05] <Leon_Raczkowski> "That she is. I'm sure you've been at least partially briefed on your assignment with NERV Jack?"
[21:05] <Jack_Murdock> "Yes, I have been briefed and trained."
08[21:06] <Leon_Raczkowski> "I see. Well admiral, if you wouldn't mind I'd like to speak privately with these two. Thank you again for your cooperation with NERV."
08[21:07] * Leon_Raczkowski gives the admiral a salute.
[21:07] <@Champion> "Of course, Capatain. Would you like more private quarters for this?" the admiral asks.
08[21:07] <Leon_Raczkowski> "I suppose that'll be fine."
[21:10] <@Champion> The admiral smiles, and orders the captain to find you a private meeting room. Leaving the four, Tarpus walks off, presumably to the bridge.
[21:11] <@Champion> The captain, a much thinner man with close cut tweed hair nods, and asks for you three to follow him to a meeting room.
06[21:11] * Jack_Murdock follows without a second thought, hands in his pockets
06[21:12] * Tania_Clarke mutters something about EVAs and carriers while following.
08[21:13] * Leon_Raczkowski sighs and asks a question somewhat absentmindedly: "Eager to see 02 Tania?"
[21:14] <Tania_Clarke> "...curious."
08[21:15] <Leon_Raczkowski> "How about you Jack?"
[21:16] <@Champion> The surface of the aircraft carrier is littered with fighter planes, F-15s and F-16s prepared to launch at a moments notice. Launch crews and pilots scurry about to perform their myriad duties, while the captain leads the trio to a doorway into the command tower. Inside, the metal halls are small and cramped, creating a feeling of claustrophobia amongst those who are not used to such ships.
[21:16] <@Champion> The smell of saltwater permeates the air, and soft rumble of the engines intermix with hustle and bustle of life aboard the ship.
[21:17] <Jack_Murdock> "A little. It is the weapon I will be using."
[21:18] <Tania_Clarke> "...it's more than a weapon," Tania quietly mutters.
08[21:18] <Leon_Raczkowski> "What she said. It's an expensive weapon."
[21:19] <@Champion> After five minutes of navigating the labrynthine corridors of the inner ship, the captain opens a doorway to a small meeting room. Inside, a metal table bolted to the floor is surrounded by six chairs, with a light built into the ceiling. On the far wall, a single porthole reveals the ocean waiting outside.
[21:19] <Jack_Murdock> "I don't care of it's cost or complexity, it's a weapon and I'm simply using it to achieve someone else's goals." He then looks over at the girl, "What's with this girl being here anyways?"
[21:20] <@Champion> "Here you are," the captain announces.
08[21:20] * Leon_Raczkowski nods towards the door. "Thank you captain."
[21:21] <@Champion> "Bathroom is down the hall on the left, one for each gender. Have a pleasent day, and if you have any questions please coem find me." He soon departs once you all enter and closes the door.
06[21:22] * Tania_Clarke glances about the room, then walks over to the viewing port to gaze outside
06[21:22] * Jack_Murdock walks in and grabs a seat near one of the ends
08[21:23] <Leon_Raczkowski> "...Militaries nowadays are such stuffy fuckers. Now, to answer your question Jack, she's a pilot. Same as you. Most likely a vastly different skillset than yours, but that doesn't matter. You're a pilot, just like her, so you're going to be treating her as your comrade in arms."
[21:24] <Jack_Murdock> "So then that's all I need to know?"
08[21:25] <Leon_Raczkowski> "Well, you could always ask her yourself. She won't bite. But if you'll excuse me, I have to see a man about a dog. Play nice for a bit will you?"
08[21:26] * Leon_Raczkowski gets up and moves towards the doorway to exit
[21:26] <Jack_Murdock> "Sure thing."
06[21:27] * Tania_Clarke continues gazing outside.
06[21:30] * Jack_Murdock looks over to Tania, 'How'd you become a pilot, girl?'
06[21:31] * Tania_Clarke glances at him, then brings her hand to her mouth, supporting the elbow on the other, in a classing thinking posture.
06[21:32] * Jack_Murdock just gives a flat stare back
[21:32] <Tania_Clarke> after a moment, Tania nods and speaks. Her voice is a low monotone. "You first."
06[21:34] * Tania_Clarke waits for his response in the same folded arm posture Jack had used later.
[21:51] <Jack_Murdock> "I was chosen to be a pilot because I was better than all the others in Europe."
[21:51] <Jack_Murdock> "Now answer my question."
[21:52] <Tania_Clarke> "Hm..."
06[21:52] * Tania_Clarke turns back to gaze outside.
[21:53] <Tania_Clarke> "Do you believe in destiny?"
[21:53] <Jack_Murdock> "No."
[21:54] <Tania_Clarke> "Then... you could say I'm a pilot because..."
[21:55] <Tania_Clarke> SYSTEM ERROR
06[21:55] * Tania_Clarke begins talking in a louder, robotic voice.
[21:55] <Tania_Clarke> DOES NOT COMPUTE
06[21:56] * Tania_Clarke begins moving towards the door in an awkward, stiff fashion, unncessarily flaining her arms.
06[21:56] * Tania_Clarke opens the door, and leaves the room, closing it behind her.
[21:57] <Jack_Murdock> "You were chosen for a reason-" He stops and stares at her with a dissapointed look on his face.
[21:57] <Jack_Murdock> "Looks like she couldn't handle my superior pressence..." He then closes his eyes and leans back in his chair
[21:58] <Tania_Clarke> once outside, Tania sighs and mutters "...not as expected."
06[22:00] * Tania_Clarke wanders off around the carrier.
[22:03] <@Champion> Inside, Tania finds herself the subject of many stares from people working aboard the ship. Obviously, few people had ever seen a teenage girl wandering the ship, especially in a uniform no one recognized. Inside the lounge, she is approached by a tanned man in his thirties, who asks her she's doing.
[22:04] <Tania_Clarke> "...wanted to see the ship."
[22:09] <@Champion> "Well, I'm afraid I don't recognize you, and know if your supposed to to be wandering around. I'm a security officer here, my names Mr. Allento. I'm going to have to ask you to wait here in the lounge while I ask my superior officer about you, ok miss?"
06[22:10] * Tania_Clarke looks and adjusts her wristwatch.
[22:10] <Tania_Clarke> "...I understand."
[22:13] <@Champion> The man walks off, returning several minutes with an older man who appears to be an officer of some sort. His voice is deep, aand several scars can be seen on his exposed forearms. He asks for a name from Tania.
[22:16] <Tania_Clarke> "...Tania Clarke. I'm here with Captain Raczkowski, from NERV."
[22:16] <@Champion> The lounge itself is occupied by abou thrirty people or so of either gender, running the gamot in appearences. Several couches are strategically placed around an old TV, bolted to the floor. Most people seem to be sitting down watching the TV, some old pre-impact movie playing. A few hoever, watch the scene unfolding around Tania and the security officers with interest.
[22:21] <Tania_Clarke> Noticing how much she's standing out, Tania adopts a military "firm" posture.
[22:23] <@Champion> "NERV? I've never heard of them, I'm afraid miss. Though, I'm hardpressed to explain how you got on board though. We're you in that VTOL that landed in deck earlier?" the older man inquires.
[22:25] <Tania_Clarke> "Um. Affirmative." After a moment she adds. "If my presence here presents a problem, I... apologize."
[22:26] <Tania_Clarke> "I was left in a conference room with no further instructions... perhaps I should return?"
[22:27] <@Champion> The scared man smiles, before replying, "Its no problem, but for security reasons we can't let you go running around alone. Not to mention the legal troubles we'd have if you got hurt sine your a minor."
[22:31] <Tania_Clarke> Tania smiles back. "I understand. I was curious about what this ship was like. Living on a ship... It was innapropiate of me."
[22:32] <@Champion> "Its alright, miss Clarke. Now please, let me escort you back to your room," he says, guesturing back to the cramped corridors.
06[22:33] * Tania_Clarke nods and follows the man, tightly gripping her left wrist behind her back.
[22:42] <@Champion> The pair soon arrive back at the assigned meeting room, where the security officer tells her to find someone who works on the ship to escort her, before she goes ad wanders off next time.
06[22:43] * Tania_Clarke thanks him and enters the room.
06[22:44] * Jack_Murdock lazily opens his eyes and looks over to the girl, 'Still broken?'
[22:45] <Tania_Clarke> "...I was alone," she says to herself, while looking at her hands.
[22:46] <Jack_Murdock> "Alright..."
[22:47] <Jack_Murdock> "Do you go off like that often?"
[22:48] <Tania_Clarke> "...not on my own."
[22:50] <Tania_Clarke> "Also... if there's something important people tells you should do, you should do it, right?"
[22:51] <Jack_Murdock> "Depends on who tells me I should do it." he then shifts himself into a better, more upright sitting postion and rests his arms on the table. "So, where's your dad gone off to, and when will he be back?"
[22:53] <Tania_Clarke> "...that is why I'm a pilot." She walks back to the port to look outside. "The Captain is not my father."

[23:00] <Jack_Murdock> "Yeah, we did."
08[23:00] <Leon_Raczkowski> "Oh. That's swell."
[23:00] <Jack_Murdock> "Where were you?"
06[23:01] * Anto_Belac turns his eyes downward and clutches both the package and whatever is in his coat pocket.
08[23:01] <Leon_Raczkowski> "Picking up the fourth part of this motley crew: Anto Belac. He'll be joining you all as pilots with some training."
[23:02] <Tania_Clarke> "...there's a Third?"
08[23:02] <Leon_Raczkowski> "There is indeed a third."
08[23:02] * Leon_Raczkowski gives Anto a pat on the back, nudging him towards the others: "Introduce yourself, you'll be working with these two."
[23:02] <Jack_Murdock> "And you just, grabbed him off the street?"
08[23:03] <Leon_Raczkowski> "Hey Jack, what are soldiers paid to do?"
06[23:03] * Tania_Clarke looks at Leon and asks "where is it?"
[23:03] <Jack_Murdock> "I wouldn't know, I don't get paid."
06[23:04] * Anto_Belac pulls at the knot of hair on the back of his head. "Hel-lo? I'm Anto."
08[23:04] <Leon_Raczkowski> "Well, you will be. And you'll be paid to follow orders. And that's what I'm doing. Taking diamonds in the rough and cutting them into gems."
08[23:04] * Leon_Raczkowski looks to Tania's statement and asks: "Wheres what now?"
06[23:06] * Jack_Murdock gives a short wave to Anto, 'My name's Jack Murdock. Looks like we're going to be comrades.'
[23:07] <Anto_Belac> " 'lo." He waves once.
[23:07] <Tania_Clarke> "The third Eva."
08[23:07] <Leon_Raczkowski> "He'll be in unit 00, unless NERV got new toys without me knowing."
08[23:08] <Leon_Raczkowski> "Oh, yes. That's what your position here will be Anto. You might want to sit down for this, as shock is best absorbed with bent knees."
[23:08] <Tania_Clarke> "Oh." She looks back at the new boy.
[23:08] <Tania_Clarke> "..."
06[23:09] * Anto_Belac waves again at Tania. " 'lo."
06[23:10] * Tania_Clarke raises her hand and waves back.
08[23:11] * Leon_Raczkowski takes a seat at the conferance table, waiting for everyone else to sit down so he can begin bringing Anto up to speed.
06[23:11] * Tania_Clarke takes the nearest seat after being motioned by Leon.
06[23:12] * Anto_Belac takes whichever seat is closest to him.
06[23:12] * Tania_Clarke continues to stare at Anto.
06[23:12] * Anto_Belac tilts away from Tania in his chair.
08[23:13] <Leon_Raczkowski> "So Anto, you're going to be a pilot alongside these two. Tania here is NERV's little girl, and has been around the units for quite a while. Jack here was recruited for his impressive skillset from outside, and you too were chosen from a pool of candidates."
[23:15] <Anto_Belac> "Pilot." He pulls at his knot some more.
08[23:15] <Leon_Raczkowski> "You'll be piloting an evangelion, a powerful 'weapon', in order to help secure the safety of the world and stuff. NERV has been pretty hush-hush even with me about what we're going to be going up against, but they've certainly reminded me enough times that it's a big fucking deal and what we're doing is very, very important."
08[23:16] <Leon_Raczkowski> "Yep. Pilot. Training and testing will all be done on site, it shouldn't be a big deal. Jack has all the combat theory, and Tania has all the technical knowledge. Look to them for guidance, and I expect you two to rely on eachother as well. Teamwork."

08[23:18] <Leon_Raczkowski> "Other than that, you'll all be living in New New York City, up on the plate. NERV will put you through school and compensate you for your work, and beyond testing, training, and defense you'll have as much free reign as they'll allow."
[23:18] <Tania_Clarke> "...will need training..." she starts pondering.
08[23:19] <Leon_Raczkowski> "...well, are there any questions?"
06[23:19] * Anto_Belac has decided he'd be much more comfortable without the knot and pulls it loose, letting out a little flop as the hair falls into place. He closes his eyes tightly and squeezes his package to his belly.

08[23:22] * Leon_Raczkowski puts his head in his hands.

08[23:30] <Leon_Raczkowski> "Hmm."
06[23:30] * Jack_Murdock follows behind Leon and Anto
06[23:31] * Anto_Belac tries to let Jack go past him.
[23:32] <Jack_Murdock> When the opening presents itself Jack shoulders his way past Anto, giving him a nudge back with said shoulder as he does
06[23:33] * Anto_Belac clutches the package more firmly to his chest.
06[23:33] * Tania_Clarke walks alongside the OD.
[23:34] <@Champion> The group makes its way to the flight deck, and is soon on the dingie once more, this time, the destination is a large transport ship, with a karge tarp stretching over most of the top of it. Once on board, it is easy to tell where the Evangelion is being held.
08[23:35] * Leon_Raczkowski shows whatever identification is needed, salutes where neccesary, and makes his way to the tarp with his three charges.
08[23:36] <Leon_Raczkowski> "Well, let's take a peak shall we?
08[23:36] * Leon_Raczkowski lifts the tarp and heads under.

[23:41] <Anto_Belac> "This -- this is a joke, righ'? It's a giant man in a suit of armor."

[23:41] <Jack_Murdock> "Yes, top of the line, unlike those outdated models you have back at your base."

[23:44] <Anto_Belac> "Uh?" His breathing quickens. "Ho-how can that thing move?"
08[23:45] <Leon_Raczkowski> "For someone who agreed to teamwork, you certainly are quick to sow dissent. Shut up and play nice. "
[23:46] <Tania_Clarke> to Anto: "Ultra-high density engineered muscle assisted by high-energy pistons."

[23:48] <Anto_Belac> "Yeah. Yeah of course, what," he backs toward the edge of the tarp, "what was I thinking. Of course. High engine dense pit stop-- " he loses his footing and falls on his butt, still scooting toward the edge of the tarp.
08[23:48] <Leon_Raczkowski> "Jesus christ kid, it's not like it's going to frankenstein itself awake and fucking eat you."
06[23:49] * Anto_Belac ignores him and scurries with all his might from under the tarp before curling up in a ball on the floor.
08[23:49] <Leon_Raczkowski> "Training. Testing. Therapy."
08[23:49] * Leon_Raczkowski shakes his head before following Anto back out.
[23:50] <Anto_Belac> "I-I-I'm not looking. Nope. It's not real. Nuh-uh."

08[23:50] <Leon_Raczkowski> "Kid, would you freak out over a tank? Or a fighter jet? Because all this is is a very fancy, very large, more destructive, and more expensive version of those."

06[23:52] * Tania_Clarke ignores the panicked boy and turns her attention back on Unit 02. She walks up to it.
06[23:53] * Anto_Belac peeks over his arm at Leon. "I-If you say so."
[23:54] <Anto_Belac> He sits himself up and turns to the Captain. "I'm really not good at destroyin' things, though. Better at fixin' things."
08[23:55] <Leon_Raczkowski> "You can fix things in a number of ways. You can adjust things, build things...or you can remove what's causing the problem."
08[23:55] <Leon_Raczkowski> "Quit worrying about that. Now come on, get up before they start to think you're going to chicken out."

08[00:01] * Leon_Raczkowski holds the tarp open and calls out: "Hey Tania, we're gonna be heading back. You good to go?"
06[00:02] * Tania_Clarke turns her head back, and after a moment of gazing at Unit 02, turns and walks towards the tarp.
06[00:05] * Tania_Clarke once outside, regards Anto. "It isn't eva you should fear, Third."
[00:05] <Anto_Belac> "But my name's Anto."
[00:06] <Tania_Clarke> "...Anton?"
[00:06] <Anto_Belac> "Anto."
06[00:07] * Tania_Clarke is already walking back towards the dingy.
08[00:07] * Leon_Raczkowski walks back, behind the pilots. He's listening to them speak.

06[00:12] * Tania_Clarke as a gust of wind goes past, she pulls at her front bangs, as if gauging their length.
08[00:13] <Leon_Raczkowski> "Tania is exceptional. In more ways than one. I guess you don't see many female sailors your age, or many sailors your age period. You'll adjust to NNYC. Who knows, you might even get a girlfriend while at NERV."

[00:16] <Anto_Belac> Nothing about what Leon just said pleases Anto, something his twisted face makes apparent.

[00:17] <Anto_Belac> "Oh." His face eases its discontent.

[00:22] <@Champion> The dingie once more awaits the crew, and ferries them back aboard the "Over the Rainbow," during which the crew overhears and laughs to themselves at the groups small talk.

08[00:22] <Leon_Raczkowski> "Tania if you fall overboard your dad will have my head. Please for the love of god don't."
06[00:23] * Tania_Clarke looks down and takes her seat proper.
06[00:24] * Anto_Belac sticks his head out into the wind.
06[00:25] * Tania_Clarke gazes at Anto, and notes his similarity to a dog sticking his head out of a car window.
06[00:25] * Tania_Clarke ponders.
06[00:26] * Jack_Murdock stares at Tania and wonders if she'll break again
08[00:26] <Leon_Raczkowski> "...you all are the most fun people in the world to be around. Really."
[00:27] <Tania_Clarke> "...this is a mission,"  barely audible over the noise.
06[00:27] * Anto_Belac giggles as the wind picks up and sends his chin-length hair flailing out behind him.
[00:28] <@Champion> The boat arrives soon, bringing the brief respite to an end, as the group reboards the Over the Rainbow.
[00:29] <@Champion> The day passes without any further major events, and two days later the flotilla arrives in New New York City harbor, where the NERV welcoming committee has arrived and is awaiting the newly filled out pilot corps and their commanding officer Leon. As the group grabs their bags and depart the ship that has been their home for the past few days, Anto and Jack gaze upon their new home for the

[00:29] <@Champion> While for Jack it was just a reassignment to another base, to Anto it would be the first time he’d be living on dry land. The day before, Anto said good bye to his father in a brief and awkward, if heartfelt meeting between the two. Now, the group was met with the welcoming committee. This committee, as it were, consists of the Sub-Commander, an older man with a light beard and closely
[00:29] <@Champion> cut hair that’s graying on the sides, several section two agents, and three senior members of the bridge crew, Mr. Thorp, Ms. Holley, and Mrs. Smith.
[00:30] <@Champion> The Sub-Commander greets them with a smile, and waves to Tania while the bridge crew calls for them. Section 2 begins to secure the area, while a black limosine rolls up next to the assembled group.
08[00:31] * Leon_Raczkowski gives a brief salute before a friendly wave towards the sub-commander. "Everything's as planned."
[00:31] <@Champion> "Ah, my little girl, I've missed you," the old man says to Tania, wraping her a hug.
06[00:32] * Tania_Clarke lets herself be hugged, but doesn't hug back.
06[00:32] * Jack_Murdock also gives a salute before sliding his hands into his pockets
[00:32] <@Champion> Turning his head to Leon, the sub-commander Clarke smiles, saying, "Good, I'd hate to shoot you for letting anything happen to my daughter. I assume that's the Jack and the Belac kid?"
08[00:33] <Leon_Raczkowski> "Yep. Jack's can't wait to start piloting. Anto might need a bit more reassurance...and uh...some new clothes. Kid's got nothing."
08[00:34] <Leon_Raczkowski> "That's all bullshit though. Easy to fix."
06[00:35] * Anto_Belac tilts from side to side, unable to find a rhythm as he's accustomed to doing. He gives a short, shy wave. "Hello."
06[00:36] * Tania_Clarke turns towards the Sub-Commnder "...needs training."
08[00:36] <Leon_Raczkowski> "Anto, Jack, this here is Sub-Commander Clarke, my superior at NERV."
[00:36] <@Champion> Clarke releases Tania from his massive hug, and goes to inspect the newly inducted members of NERV while the bridge crew goes to talk with Leon.
06[00:37] * Anto_Belac repeats the same wave.
[00:37] <@Champion> Looking over their every detail, his gaze seems to pierce right through them, looking into their very souls. All is silent, the air grows tense for a minute.
[00:38] <@Champion> At last though, he backs up and gives a slight but noticable smile, saying, "Welcome to Nerv gentlmen, it is a pleasure to meet you."
[00:39] <Jack_Murdock> "Thank you, sir."
[00:40] <@Champion> "As Leon stated, I am Sub-Commander Clarke, second in command of Nerv. I see you've met my daughter Tania, and assume you've been briefed?"
[00:41] <Jack_Murdock> "Yes sir. I have."
[00:42] <Anto_Belac> "I suppose?"
[00:42] <@Champion> "Good. Now, you'll get much more in depth information at Nerv, when you training begins. Now, what do you know about Manhattan?"
[00:44] <Jack_Murdock> "Nothing. I was brought here to fight, not learn about some city."
[00:45] <Anto_Belac> "It's a major port? I've been in that a few times. Not the city."
[00:45] <Anto_Belac> "It's...big?"
08[00:47] * Leon_Raczkowski overhears conversation and facepalms a bit.
06[00:47] * Tania_Clarke stares.
06[00:47] * Anto_Belac tilts some more.
06[00:48] * Tania_Clarke lightly pulls at the Sub-Commander's sleeve.
[00:51] <@Champion> "Well, I'll have section two give you a tour some time lad. Now, Leon's not the most... nuturing, so I'll give you some advice. A, don't do anything and claim to be ironic around him. You'll get knee capped. B, don't stay in central park after dark. C, stay away from the pizza parlor on 26th, its delicious but will give you the worst stomach flu in the world. Lastly, stay out of SoHo if you
[00:51] <@Champion> don't have Leon with you, its dangerous."
[00:52] <@Champion>  "Oh, and cut your hair, you two look like a pair of god damn hippies," he says with a smile, but a menacing undertone slips in underneath. "Any questions?"
08[00:53] <Leon_Raczkowski> "I heard that last bit sub-commander. Are we still on about that?"
[00:54] <Jack_Murdock> "Nope, clear as day sir."
[00:55] <@Champion> Turning his head face Leon, Clarke calls out, "You at least eat meat and work for a living killing things. A good, honest job. I can suffer you."
[00:55] <Anto_Belac> "Oh," he tugs at his hair, "I can, uhm..."
[00:56] <Tania_Clarke> "...hippie...."
08[00:56] <Leon_Raczkowski> "The sub-commander is just giving us all shit. Smile and salute Anto."
08[00:57] * Leon_Raczkowski does a mock-salute
06[00:57] * Anto_Belac does as he's told, making sure to tilt only slightly. "Uh?"
[00:57] <@Champion> One of the girls talking to Leon, a native american with hair down to her hips laughs and says to Anto, "Don't worry about it, as long as you do your job and don't protest any wars, you'll be fine."
[01:00] <@Champion> As Leon walks to his group of compatriots, he is greet by the ever enthusiastic Ms. Holley, a young, petite woman in her mid twenties. Hair long brown hair is pulled back in a pony tail, and the freckles on her face make her seem younger than she really is. Sparkling blue eyes light up at Leon’s arrival, as she asks, “So, how was the trip?”
08[01:02] <Leon_Raczkowski> "I'm babysitting humanities last hope. They at least knew when it was bed-time, so it wasn't too bad."
08[01:02] * Leon_Raczkowski answers with a smirk.
[01:03] <Anto_Belac> "I-I still wanna know why I was, uhm, roomed with Jack? I mean-I mean I'm used to saving space but I saw a few open rooms right down the hall from where we were --"
[01:05] <@Champion> Holley giggles slightly at Leon's remark, while Thorp just smirks and Smith remains passive. Thorp, a man in his early thirties, is a computer pro and head of communications on the command bridge. Pale, with short black hair hair and the beginning of a stubble, he'd look like a quite a wladies man if he wasn't constantly wearing comic apparel. His current shirt, a black t-shirt with Marval
[01:05] <@Champion> comics emblazoned on it further shows he literary preferences.
[01:08] <Jack_Murdock> "We won't have to share a room at our new place, will we?"
[01:08] <@Champion> "Whelp, you didn't fuck up too badly, I guess," Mrs. Smith snarks, as usual. Ever a dead pan deliverer of snark, Mrs. Smith is in her mid thirties, and has earned the name 'Pocohantus,' form the rest of the group, due to her Native AMerican heritage and the fact she married a man named John Smith. With jet black hair flowing down to her hips, and several tattoes, she's earned a place as the
[01:08] <@Champion> most intimidating woman at Nerv.
08[01:10] <Leon_Raczkowski> "Not yet. Although those two newcomers have a long way to go before we have a solid team."
[01:11] <@Champion> "Figures, we've been training Tania for a year now, and she still needs more. If the Clarke didn't stone wall us, we could have had her identified along time ago as a child and started her training," Thorp complains, grimacing at the thought of the battles to come.
[01:12] <@Champion> "Hey," interjects Holley, "thats not fair. I mean, would you want your only daughter thrown into a fight like this?"
08[01:13] <Leon_Raczkowski> "Jesus you make it sound like I'm going to send them all to their deaths. I'll shape them up into a squad or die trying."
08[01:13] <Leon_Raczkowski> "Then again, I guess we'd all die trying."
[01:14] <@Champion> Smith lets loose a small laugh at this, remarking, "Yeah, but I'd feel better if you died trying first Raczkowski."
08[01:15] <Leon_Raczkowski> "I'll keep that in mind."
08[01:16] <Leon_Raczkowski> "So are you all here just to show me your shining personalities or did something happen?"
[01:18] <@Champion> Thorp speaks up, saying, "Holley figured we should welcome you back from you oh-so-terrible trip. I think she just wants to stop watching and give back Ceasar. Apparently he scares the hell out of the poor girl."
08[01:19] <Leon_Raczkowski> "Hey, Caesar is not some hellbeast."
[01:19] <@Champion> "He does not! He's, well, just a little creepy, thats all. You shouldn't be able to lose a body part like that. And, he leaves me these 'presents,' like dead birds," Holley objects.
08[01:19] <Leon_Raczkowski> "He's my bro. He does that.
[01:20] <@Champion> "Well, all the same, could you take him back soon? He's made a nest out of one of my chairs, and it's starting to smell," the small woman implores cutely.
08[01:21] <Leon_Raczkowski> "Fine fine."
[01:21] <@Champion> "Pansy," Thorp says superiorly, earning him harsh smack up side the head from Smith.
08[01:21] <Leon_Raczkowski> "Speaking of nests though, did we get word on where we'll be putting up those two?"
[01:23] <@Champion> It is at about this point, that Leon over hear's Clarke's comment about hair, and makes shoots back at the Sub-commander. The exchange earns some sniggering from the group, who were not new to the pairs discussions about appropriate hair length.
08[01:24] <Leon_Raczkowski> "So yeah. Room and board and all that. Any word?"
[01:25] <@Champion> The Sub-Commander rubs his bearded chin as he considers both Jack's plea, and Leon's question. "Hm," he hms, before asking, "Leon, you still have that industrial loft loft near the south side of the island?"
08[01:26] <Leon_Raczkowski> "Yeah I st--"
08[01:26] <Leon_Raczkowski> "Oh god."
[01:28] <@Champion> "Good," Clarke says with a smile. "They can stay with you till suitable housing arraingements can be made. And by suitable, I mean something better than a cardboard box they have to pay you rent for Leon."
08[01:29] <Leon_Raczkowski> "...This is retribution for the hair isn't it."
[01:29] <@Champion> "...amoung other things, yes."
08[01:30] * Leon_Raczkowski smirks and retorts: "Well fuck you dad, I'm going to listen to loud music and grow my hair out and get tattooed."
[01:30] <Jack_Murdock> Jack looks slightly displeased at this outcome but simply turns to leon and addresses him, "If your dog eats any of my stuff, I'll strangle it myself."
08[01:30] <Leon_Raczkowski> "Jack it's not a fucking dog."
08[01:30] * Leon_Raczkowski shakes his head.
[01:30] <@Champion> Thorp laughs at the predicament, positively cracking up while even Smith is unable to suppress some small laughter at it all. "Well," Thorp begins, "I always figured you'd want to live with some underaged boys. Now's your chance!"
[01:31] <Jack_Murdock> "I don't care what it is. I'll squeaze the life out of it if it wrecks my crap."
[01:31] <@Champion> Holley speaks up, explaining, "Ceaser isn't a dog, he's a genetically engineer lizard."
08[01:31] <Leon_Raczkowski> "Well Clarke, Thorp, Holley, Smith, it's been a WONDERFUL chat here, but I think I should be going before I hit someone."
[01:32] <@Champion> "Oh god, the domestic abuse is starting already," Smith snarks.
08[01:34] * Leon_Raczkowski already is moving towards the black limo, trying to usher the pilots with him. He also throws a quick finger up for Smith.
06[01:34] * Jack_Murdock follows the ushering and ducks into the limo
[01:36] <@Champion> Clarke smiles at the exchange, and tells everyone to get in the limo, which will take them down to Nerv.
08[01:37] * Leon_Raczkowski turns around and gives Clarke a professional salute before finally entering and remarking to the two pilots: "...you get a limo. I never got a limo."
[01:39] <Jack_Murdock> "Limos are to be expected when you're an ace pilot like myself."
08[01:41] <Leon_Raczkowski> "Uh-huh."
[01:41] <@Champion> "They get a limo because the the sub-commander and Tania is here. If it was just the boys, they'd have to walk it just like the rest of us," Thorp says as they join in the limo.
08[01:41] * Leon_Raczkowski grunts at that remark.
[01:41] <Anto_Belac> "I can walk just fine," he mutters. Anto is on edge after all the 'dog' flying about earlier.
[01:43] <@Champion> Once everyone is inside, Clarke taps the top of the limo before entering it himself. "Now," he says, "Lets get these strapping young lads down to Nerv headquarters so Dr. Faust can go and prob them."
[01:44] <@Champion> The entire bridge team, Leon, and Tania all shudder at the mention of Faust.
[01:44] <Anto_Belac> "So is this -- this is a car, right?"
06[01:44] * Jack_Murdock 's eyes narrow as he stares down Clarke, 'Who are we going to see?'
08[01:45] <Leon_Raczkowski> "Dr. Faust. Good guy. Kinda creepy. Probably killed some folk."
[01:46] <@Champion> "Dr. Faust, head of Nerv's science division. He'll want to check out any new pilots and examine them before they get in an Evangelion. Dr. Izuna will also examine you, for more practical, medical reasons."
[01:46] <@Champion> "Probably a vampire," add Holley
[01:46] <@Champion> "Probably a vampire," adds Holley.
[01:47] <@Champion> "Probably an unaging, Nazi scientist," continues Thorp.
[01:47] <Anto_Belac> "Vampire?"
08[01:48] <Leon_Raczkowski> "Like I said: kinda creepy."
[01:48] <Jack_Murdock> "Count me out. Let Izuna look at me, but keep that Fritz the hell away from me."
[01:48] <@Champion> "Probably an ancient man for the fifteenth century who made a deal with the devil," finishes Smith.
08[01:48] <Leon_Raczkowski> "Jack, your mouth is making disagreeable noises again. Stop it."
[01:49] <Anto_Belac> "What is -- that thing she said?"
08[01:49] <Leon_Raczkowski> "...vampires? I thought sailors were kings of swapping weird tales when they're bored."
[01:49] <@Champion> "Indeed it is. Leon, would you like to know that we a have a crowbar in the truck? Just for disagreeable hippies?" clarke says to the Ops Director.
08[01:50] * Leon_Raczkowski nods in the direction of the Sub-Commander. "Remember Jack: Soldiers are paid to follow orders. Check-ups and testing are orders."
[01:50] <@Champion> "Wow, you are one sheltered child," Smith notes. "You are going to get beaten on your first day of school, you know that?"
[01:51] <Anto_Belac> "Weird tales? Do you mean, sea maidens, or serpents?"
06[01:51] * Anto_Belac gives Smith a distraught look. "School?"
08[01:51] * Leon_Raczkowski puts his head in his hands.
[01:51] <@Champion> Smith facepalms, while Thorp just bursts into laughter.
08[01:51] <Leon_Raczkowski> "Clarke, help me."
[01:52] <@Champion> "Nope, you're own your own with this one."
[01:52] <Jack_Murdock> "I will protect this child at school if you keep that, Faust, the hell away from me."
06[01:52] * Tania_Clarke ponders.
[01:52] <Tania_Clarke> "...land sirens?"
[01:52] <@Champion> "No chance, I'm afraid," Holley says to Jack.
[01:53] <@Champion> "Leon, Thorp and I will pay you twenty bucks if you let us watch when you give the sheltered kid The Talk," Smithes offers, Thorp still unable to say anything coherent.
08[01:53] <Leon_Raczkowski> "Yeah. Faust, Clarke, and Kennedy are the three people that should they ask you to jump, you ask how high."
06[01:54] * Anto_Belac jumps back. "Land sirens??"
08[01:54] <Leon_Raczkowski> "Oh for god's sake why are we putting this on me?! My last girlfriend had her cat eaten and nearly tossed half of my furniture into the street. I give them the talk and they'll come back with four restraining orders and broken arms."
[01:55] <Tania_Clarke> to anto: "...look human, don't trust them."
06[01:56] * Jack_Murdock loosk noticeably pissed off as he begins to tap his foot rapidly
[01:56] <@Champion> Clarke turns to Leon, and simpley states, "Becuase Commander Kennedy though it would be funny."
08[01:57] <Leon_Raczkowski> "The commander wants me to give the talk to these kids. Your daughter too, since she's in the limo."
[01:57] <Anto_Belac> "I don't like this guy. Is seeing him seriously part of my job?"
[01:58] <@Champion> "Yeah, I think he's still mad at you cockblocking him a couple months ago," Thorp adds, earning a smack from Clarke, who wanrs him to watch his mouth in front of the ladies present.

08[01:58] <Leon_Raczkowski> (to Anto, and Jack partially) "Yes, unfortunately. As far as I can tell, the Evangelions are his little babies and he'll be damned if he lets you all into them without him checking you."
[01:59] <@Champion> "It is," Clarke answers. "And you will not be giving /any/ talk to Tania, am I understood?" Clarke says, his eyes burning into Leon's soul, giving him war flashbacks

[02:01] <@Champion> "Good, now we're here, so everybody out," Clarke states.
08[02:01] <Leon_Raczkowski> "Home sweet home."
06[02:02] * Jack_Murdock gets out and eyes the place up
06[02:02] * Anto_Belac bustles out as quickly as possible.
08[02:02] * Leon_Raczkowski steps out
06[02:03] * Anto_Belac squirms all over and grabs at something in his pocket tightly.
[02:04] <@Champion> Once outside, the imposing monument that is the extended Empire State Bulding comes into view, towering the city. All arround them, the honking of horns, and hustle of city life is overwhelming. Various odors, of cooking hot dogs, exhaust fumes, and general human life flood the senses, overwhelming Jack and Anto.
06[02:05] * Anto_Belac sticks his package under his arm and plants both hands over his ears. "What the hell's that racket?!"
06[02:05] * Jack_Murdock is still busy looking at the building with a look of disgust
[02:05] <@Champion> People in all sorts of various kinds of dress, from t-shirts and jeans to suit and dresses, all seem to be moving in and out of the Empire State Building, the hub of Manhattan. "Ah," Clarke says, "Home."
