  68. 1b. Profile
  69. Name: Molly Lampson
  70. Faction: Union
  71. Function: Fire Fighting Pokemon Trainer
  72. Series: Pokemon Shadow Gray
  73. Rank: A - Ally
  74. Quote: "IF it doesn't feel good, what are you doing it for?"
  75. Profile: A simple and pure Pokemon training youth, Molly Lampson hails from the fantastical region of Bayern, where Pokemon trainers exist in a darkened world of medieval conflict against the fantastic- a place where legendary Pokemon are gods, and trainers can use fabulous powers on the level of Pokemon themselves. Molly is one such person- and, although she has been touched by the goddess of gems, Diancie, she also displays firey powers that let her act as a Flame Waker. Like many pokemon trainers, although unlike many in Bayern, Molly travels the world to discover how to bring sunlight and safety to her gloomy world. She's perpetually happy and a little simple, but with a strangely morbid sense of humor resulting from a curse put on her before her birth. She journeys with her Lampent, Dedenne, Solrock and Cottonee to hold back the curse of Hollowness that threatens Bayern.
  76.
  77. 2b. Character Type
  78. What kind of character are you applying for? Categories are FCs (Canon Characters), OFCs (AU takes on canon characters), and OCs (Original Characters).
  79.
  80. OC
  81.
  82. 3b. Advantages
  83. This is a lengthy section divided into four categories: POWERS, SKILLS, ASSETS, and NPCs. If your character doesn't have an advantage in a specific category, just write down None or N/A. Some Advantages may fit multiple categories, in which case you may choose what category to put the advantage in. Wizards or other characters with many minor sub-powers aren't expected to list EVERY spell, but shouldn't have things like Wish, Teleportation, or Resurrection without listing them.
  84. Advantages should be as clear of setting-specific jargon as possible. We don't mind if you describe your special sword as a Daiklave or Zanpakuto, but simultaneously we don't want an Advantages section that is only comprehensible to somebody who already knows the series you're from.
  85.
  86. 3b-1. Advantages: Powers
  87. List your character's POWERS. Powers are usually superhuman abilities of some kind, encompassing things like a wizard's spells, super speed, mind control, telepathy, etc. This can sometimes overlap with Skills if your character is superhumanly good at something like crafting.
  88.
  89. FIGHT LIKE A POKEMON: Molly has supernatural, elemental powers which allow her to fight alongside her Pokemon. As she is highly in tune with the Fire type, she not only has the ability to perform various fire-type attacks both at long and melee range, but she also has the Flash Fire ability- meaning that mundane flames do no harm to her, and in fact power her up if struck by them.
  90.
  91. TOUCHED BY DIANCIE: As someone who was saved- and blessed- by the legendary Pokemon Diancie before she was born, Molly not only has an elemental bond with Fairy-type Pokemon, but she has a strong affinity with gemstones. She can do many different things with gems and shards- crafting them into accessories that boost her own abilities, but also being able to turn gems into Pokejewelry, her world's equivalent to Pokeballs. She can also fuse elemental Shards into evolutionary Stones, or vice versa.
  92.
  93. 3b-2. Advantages: Skills
  94. List your character's SKILLS. Skills are exactly what they sound like. Things that your character has been taught to do, or which they learned to do themselves.
  95.
  96. ARCANA WEAPONRY: Molly has learned to use the 'Fire Fangs Runeclaws', magically-infused claws to augment her fighting style, and even her most basic fist attacks can strike with the power of fire. She is capable of fighting using them as a Skirmisher, focusing on a 'strike hard and fast' fighting style augmented by her fire attacks. She can boost her evasion in a burst, evade flanking attempts, and perform counterattacks.
  97.
  98. FOCUS: Focus represents Molly's expert ability to concentrate on difficult or complex tasks or to work under pain and stress. She can keep self-control in the face of very strong fear, anger, or other volatile emotions, or at the least become nigh unshakable once they’ve dedicated themselves to a task.
  99.
  100. 3b-3. Advantages: Assets
  101. List your character's ASSETS. Assets can be their Batcave, Stark Enterprises, their Evil Empire, etc. This can sometimes overlap a bit with NPCs. You aren't expected to list minor assets like owning a home, but if your character's assets are a major part of their advantages, they should definitely be here.
  102.
  103. SHARDS: Thanks to the blessing of Diancie, Molly has the ability to call out the latent power of the elements in Shards if she is wearing them in the form of accessories. As such, she carries various trinkets and items with her that allow her to augment her mundane abilities in various ways.
  104.
  105. POKEJEWELRY: Although she does not make a habit of catching a large number of Pokemon, due to rules and laws in her home world, Molly is fully capable of making jewelry into her world's version of Pokeballs. This talent means that she can often find work in her world, or produce Pokejewelry for other people given the resources.
  106.
  107. 3b-4. Advantages: NPCs
  108. List your character's NPCs, along with a summary of what they can do and the Power Level you would like them to have. This is a bit more specialized, and is meant for characters with named subordinates from their own series, or characters like pokemon trainers.
  109.
  110. POKEMON: Molly can catch and train various elemental creatures called Pokemon. They have abilities based on their element, as well as various forms of attack. Her primary Pokemon are SOLROCK, COTTONEE, DEDENNE and LAMPENT. Among their non-attack abilities, SOLROCK can prevent healing in battle, COTTONEE can produce various negative plant powders, DEDENNE can find minor items and LAMPENT can make its body amorphous. Unlike some other worlds' versions, her SOLROCK is a fire and rock type, and her LAMPENT is a pure fire type due to being a 'fire elemental' instead of a soul-draining spirit.
  111.
  112. 4b. Disadvantages
  113. Excepting that these are not divided into sub-categories, these are identical to Advantages and represent a character's failings and weaknesses. We would like to see a minimum of three solid Disadvantages, with at least one of them being a deficiency in your character's personality.
  114.
  115. TECH EDUCATION: PATHETIC: Even among the people of the less technologically developed region of Bayern, Molly has a very low aptitude for anything beyond the most simple of tools. She can barely operate a simple multiversal radio, and almost anything in the world outside of her own befuddles her. She has enough common sense not to react in superstitious wonder or just assume that a technological item is something more simple she's familiar with, but has absolutely no chance of making these things works.
  116.
  117. TOUCHED BY DIANCIE: Although it is not uncommon for people in Bayern to claim lineage or powers from the divine legendary Pokemon, Molly in particular may find herself at risk of exploitation or danger because of the use and value of her Diancie-granted abilities. Among these, she could find herself in danger from people who value jewels for profit, those who wish to illegally create Pokejewelry outside of official sanction, people who wish to craft arcane weapons, or those who would sacrifice divinely touched people in evil rituals.
  118.
  119. PARIAH: Although she has done her best to not let it weigh down on her soul, the fact remains that Molly's prenatal encounter with a ghost Pokemon left her somewhat twisted. Her morbid attitude and her strange mannerisms mean that in Bayern, she is socially isolated, and it may mean that people in her world are less likely to offer her help or shelter unless they can make use of her abilities.
  120.
  121. 5b. Themelisting
  122. If a +themelisting does not already exist for your character, you will have to write one yourself. This should be a concise description of the setting from which the character comes, and if it is a modified/non-canon theme it should usually explain how it diverges from the original.
  123.
  124. See other Pokemon: Shadow Gray application in the inbox.

  126. C. CHARACTER INFORMATION
  127.
  128. 1c. Personality
  129. Describe your character's personality, in 500 words or more. Give an overview of their motivations, hopes, fears, failings. Why are they in the faction they're in, and why would people enjoy RP with this character? Show that you understand how your character acts, and why. If you give us too little, you'll be asked for more. (Need help? Take a look at Nathan Hall's Personality Guide.)
  130.
  131. The child of a pair of respected metalworkers who made lamps for miners, is a Pokemon trainer who escaped from a curse that would have taken her life before she was born, although only partially. Blessed by Diancie, and in such a way that she was able to use the abilities of fire Pokemon- although in truth, it's the latent power of the goddess plus her intense connection with her Lampent- Molly however has a dark streak that is a lingering remnant of the curse.
  132.
  133. She is in many ways what you would expect a passionate 'fire person' to be- energetic, cheerful, and borderline hedonistic in the sense that she enjoys many things in life and always finds something to make herself cheer. However, her dark streak is reflected in her morbid sense of humor and tendency to dwell on the strangeness of Bayern, her home. Molly loves all parts of her world, even the weird and creepy- she believes that many things in her world are evil because of the influence of the terrible creator-god Regigigas and its spawn. While she IS correct in that many things in her world, due to the Curse of Hollowness, are evil by influence, she often makes the mistake in that ALL things are evil because of the influence of something or someone bad, and finds it next to impossible to believe people can just be evil for no good reason.
  134.
  135. Her chief motivation is to find a way to bring the sun back to Bayern- she often believes that this can either be done literally or otherwise by defeating the Regis and Regigigas. Yes, she wants to basically kill the evil being that shaped the world. At least that's a lofty goal, right? And she thinks that, at the least, she could probably take down a couple of Regis personally due just to the fact that, well, fire trumps ice and steel. If she becomes powerful enough, she can beat the legendary golems in a fight. And then ???, and then kill Regigigas. Profit. If that doesn't work out? Well, she tried.
  136.
  137. ....Molly has no friends. She is only connected to her Pokemon. She's wandered the world since she was 12, which has been about three years. She has sort of got it figured out by now that her parents sent her away because she wasn't what they wanted, and she didn't become what she wanted. In truth, she has a secret fear deep in her heart that she has no meaning in her life and nobody would miss her if she died except maybe Diancie the goddess. However, she refuses to dwell on this fear or even acknowledge that she fears it. She might even joke about it, even if no one else finds it funny, because if SHE finds it funny obviously it doesn't scare her, and if she's unhappy about nothing then she's living a good life- and if she dies, then she lived a good life and there's no regrets. Circular logic.
  138.
  139. In the mean time she loves to fight and get stronger. After all, she wants to grow enough to defeat the legendaries, so she has to become the absolute greatest in terms of power, evolving her Pokemon, evolving herself, catching more team members and creating the perfect team. She just ... wouldn't like to do it alone.
  140.
  141. 2c. Background
  142. Give us a short and concise overview of your character's background. More thorough backgrounds are expected of non-canon takes on characters, high-powered original characters, and some other special cases. Otherwise, keep this shorter than your personality section.
  143.
  144. The world of Bayern is one where people can find themselves in terrible peril from Pokemon. Even though many of them are the allies of humanity, much like people, you always get bad Pokemon. Zoroarks are the shapechanging wolf in the woods who eats Red and the Woodsman, and Beedrill swarms can crush even angry mobs. In the case of Molly, however, her life was somewhat more unusually begun. Her family, Terra and Bradford Lampson, were lampmakers in the mining city of Saltburg in the south of Bayern, using their family's lauded connection with fire elementals to produce Lampent-flame-lit mining lamps for jewel miners who helped produce the necessary gems to make Pokejewelry. When a Mismagius entered town trying to take the town's Heart Diamond power source as a new crystal to make a scrying ball, it cursed her pregnant mother as vengeance when Bradford fought back against it and its Boldores.
  145.
  146. The whimsical Diancie, guardian goddess of the Alpis mountains, appeared before them to bless the woman in counterbalance to the witch curse- Diancie known as a whimsical goddess who acts as a 'Lady Luck' as well as blessing those who serve her and protect her jewels. However, although Molly was born without issue, some lingering element of the curse remained. She was far from the proper lady that her parents had hoped for, and she had a wild streak and a burgeoning sense of power about her that made her a subject of constant consternation for her parents. She also had a dark sense of humor, willing to tease and bully others, laugh inappropriately and for much too long, curl up in front of the fire and sleep like a Herdier, stare at the sun on the days it scarcely peered through the gloomy clouds, light fires, and worst of all go on 'play' with the lesser Litwicks of the family's business, setting fires in town. When she reached the age of twelve her parents had decided enough was enough.
  147.
  148. It was declared that she was going on a Pokemon Journey, which is a rarely done thing considering many boys and girls joined their town's local militia or at the best a neighboring Count or Baron's. She was given one of the Litwicks she grew up with and an empty Pokejewelry ring, and told to go out on adventures by the Saltburg Pokemon Shrine- perhaps she could challenge neighboring towns' Militia Leader for tokens of competitive valor, or something. In truth, her parents expected her to be terrified and cowed into submissiveness by the outside world and return a more willing lady, so it came as quite an unpleasant surprise when she not only thrived outside of the city, but began to awaken her latent supernatural powers.
  149.
  150. Naturally, Molly went east and into the Alpis mountains, but when she journeyed deep into the jeweled caves she met one of the rarest Pokemon in world that rarely sees the full glory of the sunlight- a Solrock. It recognized that she had the glitter of the goddess of gems in her spirit, underlit by an intense firelight. She earned her battling chops burning away the roots of Trevenants who were digging too deep, and the Solrock joined her. Over time and more adventures, she grew in power, discovering not only the ability to craft gems into Pokejewelry like other Shrine Maidens of Bayern, but to build an affinity with gems such that she could make all manner of surprising things with them. In one deep schwartzwaldian forest she met her goddess Diancie, who told her of the story before her birth, and helped avert one of the Regis from scouting out the area where a cache of Leaf Stones were growing in a mighty fallen redwood. She met a Cottonee here too, and caught it to add to the Dedenne she had befriended on a rambling river route.
  151.
  152. Molly ended up doing just as her parents suggested and challenging Militia Leaders for Badges- and fighting alongside her Pokemon, as many Leaders did themselves. As in training, she learned that she could thrive in combat, and she learned to channel her focus in combat to awaken the ability to create flames of her own. Why Diancie-touched Molly could use the abilities of fire rather than, say, Fairy or Rock pokemon was a mystery, but perhaps it was because of the latent power of her Solrock and Litwick-now-Lampent. However, her sense of wild humor and morbid, weird attitude hadn't really changed, and she didn't really make many friends or people who would associate with her for long.
  153.
  154. She hadn't stopped staring at the sun- in fact she thrived in the short summer months more than all as years went on. Why DID the sun shine so rarely on Bayern, and why was the night so much stronger? Why was their world so perpetually in fear of the god that created the world, Regigigas? If there was any great source of evil in the world it was him. Perhaps one day, she'd find a way to help beat the Regis. After all, hey, ice and steel are weak to her.
  155.
  156. Recent she earned an arcane weapon following her successful defeat of a Team Golem scheme to torch a Xerneas tree shrine- she fought off the cultists by making Pokejewelry that would allow the shrine maidens to catch Pokemon. Telling them of her desire to beat the legendary golems, she has attracted the attention of shadowy figures in the back rooms of big cities that seek to make a potent Arcane Weapon sufficient to slay a god, if only they could find a wielder. And Team Golem now knows of her connection to the jewel goddess and will surely try to capture her for their own evil rituals, but Molly will encounter the multiverse ...
  157.
  158. 3c. Power Level
  159. Put your desired Power Level (see Power Levels) range here, and justify it to us.
  160.
  161. 32 or lower? This character is a middle of the road PTU trainer (level 7 on the typical 20-level pen and paper rpg progression scale). She's not as strong as the Count for example, but fairly strong compared to most people due to her divine heriatige. I plan to upgrade her PL over time as she catches more Pokemon and grows more powerful, getting her patron's Gifts in time through quests related to Diancie's bidding, and possibly TPs involving Bayern.
  162.
  163. 4c. Sample Pose
  164. Include a sample pose here, if you like. This field is mandatory for Guests, optional for standing/returning players. If you include a sample pose, it should be at least 150 characters long, should include both action and dialogue, and should not focus on how strong your character is. Do a mini-scene with somebody if you want! Staff may occasionally request a sample pose during the revisions process (if there is one), so it never hurts to put one in anyway.
  165.
  166. 5c. Miscellaneous
  167. This is just a miscellaneous field. If you have any notes or special requests (potential defection notices, for example), this is the place to put them.
  168.
  169. I have a loose undefined idea that there is a conspiracy of some sorts who wants to make a weapon to kill Regigias. They need to find a wielder for it, the strongest warrior in the world and possibly even the most foolhardy- but they would need an epic, world-shaking quest to create something so powerful, obtaining the blessings of multiple legendary gods and collecting items that are incredibly rare and connected deeply to the legendaries, like Mega Stones, Soul Dew or Orbs. Some of these may belong to legendary pokemon who died in Bayern's prehistory in the great war with Regigigas.
