  1. A: You know , before I would probably argue with you that Philosophy decreases in value when it is taught. For the actual understanding comes when you discover ideas yourself.
  2. Also the value in the process of doing it yourself
  3.
  4.
  5. B: But now you changed your mind?
  6.
  7.
  8. A: Yes
  9.
  10.
  11. B: For me there is no difference. It is just as enjoyable to discover something myself as it is to hear it from someone else's perspective.
  12.
  13.
  14. A: Well thats just about it. Someone else's perspective.

  16.
  17.

  19. More knowledge is ALWAYS better in my opinion.
  20. You're a more well-rounded person if you have multiple perspectives and sources of information to draw upon.

  22.
  23.
  24. A: Mhm
  25. Also , it would make you outdated
  26.
  27.
  28. B: Exactly.
  29. That's why religious texts are not good sources of information.
  30. They are "infallible" and forever outdated.
  31.
  32.
  33. A: Yup
  34. Reinventing the wheel isn't as much fun as using a wheel thats already been made to make a car out of it
  35. that was a bad metaphor
  36. but anyway you get the point
  37.
  38.
  39. B: Yeah. lol, I've had to cross that hurdle as a programmer :P
  40. I always want to re-invent the wheel when I program.
  41. Instead of building on an existing library that does just what I want.
  42. It's not a bad metaphor.
  43. In fact, it's a very common one in the US.
