The duplication exploit, found by Yocairo/Sarthedot
on Minecraft Version 1.3_01. It's still working.

How to perform the simple dupe (gives one item each time, can be convenient as it is not as laggy as doing it with two accounts at once)

You set up a crafting bench, obviously far away from civilization as it's far too precious to be patched!

You then make sure you either have your second account, or some water to drown in ready.
You'll also need the thing you want to dupe,
which are limited, but alot. For instance your item
has to be craftable, so diamond blocks, iron blocks, gold blocks, (TNT probably works, but with a different method which I will cover later). Such things are handy to duplicate, as you can convert 9 diamonds into a full diamond armour & tool set in a matter of seconds.

Okay, now this will be split up in two sections.



One-account duping:

You put the (ex) diamond block in the crafting bench, and make sure you're in the water. you then wait a few, and when you're dead you notice you drop the diamond block, but it's still in your crafting bench, but if you drop it again it dissapears. So what you want to do is you convert the item into another item, so the diamond blocks into 9 diamonds, and THEN you drop them.

Annoying things within the one-account dupe:
This will ALWAYS only drop ONE of your item.

Two-account duping:

Basically the same concept, except you get more out of it, I don't know why, but Minecraft remembers the account that holds "fake" blocks, and deletes them. But if you have the "fake" picked up blocks from your first account, convert them back and then they're all real. *This is also how you efficiently TNT dupe, with this method*


Annoying things with the dupe in general:

Only able to dupe craftable things, and even then
not THAT convenient as you won't be able to duplicate cobblestone, but you can duplicate furnaces.
And, if you stack items in your crafting bench, and pick them up with your alternate account before you're converting them and you've dropped them, the stack of items in your crafting bench turns into one.
