Dark Souls Any% Uchigatana/Falchion and Sorcery

This is a route I made a while ago, and recently updated a bit. I think it can be close to 90 minutes for Any%. It uses the Uchigatana, upgraded to be Magic +5, and then later the Enchanted Falchion. Homing Crystal Soulmass is used against a few regular bosses and to kill Gwyn. It's a change of pace run for me when I'm not doing my try hard Sorcery route.

These notes are fairly brief, and assume a lot of familiarity with speedruns and the game in general. It does use Duke Skip, Seal Skip, Lower Undead Burg Skip, and also the Chaos Shortcut, among other techniques. Use RTSR for most boss fights, dupe Homeward Bones and boss souls when necessary, even if the notes don't specify that you need to do so. You want 50 Int, 12 Attunement, and 16 Vitality by the end. Any other levels can and should go to Endurance. Priority is Int first except when the route notes specify otherwise.


Start Thief, Black Firebombs, Kill Asylum Demon with Firebombs, grab Bandit Knife and Shield, pick up small soul after demon

Firelink Shrine, get Firebombs and Homeward Bones, use a bone on pickup

New Londo Ruins, pick up small soul near elevator, get Green Titanite Shard, Homeward Bone

Undead Burg - Kill Undead Merchant with 2 Black Firebombs (Don't Merchant Snipe since you have to pick up the Uchigatana anyway), pick up the Uchigatana, Lower Undead Burg Skip (either version), Rescue Griggs, Homeward Bone

Valley of Drakes, pick up soul near door and near Undead Dragon
Get RTSR, Grass Crest Shield, Kill Black Knight (you need the Blue Chunk later), get Longbow

Undead Parish, Rest at bonfire, Kill Heavy Knight with Black Firebombs and Regular Firebombs, pick up Fire Keeper Soul and Titanite Shard, Homeward Bone
Pop souls, upgrade Uchigatana to +5

Firelink Shrine, New Londo Ruins, drop Bandit Knife and Target Shield and Demon's Great Hammer, equip Uchigatana and Grass Crest Shield on elevator, modify Uchigatana to Magic, Homeward Bone, level Str to 10.

Sen's Gate Skip, pick up Soul in lobby of Sen's Fortress, Rescue Logan, pick up Soul in Cage, Soul on roof, Pop Souls at bonfire, rest and level Int, RTSR with Crossbowman (two running hits), Kill Iron Golem (running attack as the fight starts, hit leg)

Anor Londo Bonfire, use Core of Iron Golem 4 times, level Vit to 12, rest to Int, Rafters, Silver Knight Archers, O&S Bonfire, Giant Blacksmith, buy 9 Green Titanite Shards and the Weapon Smithbox, upgrade Uchigatana to +5 Magic, Homeward Bone, level Int with any remaining souls,
Kill O&S

Elevator, shoot Illusion of Gwynevere with Longbow, Homeward Bone, Warp to Firelink Shrine

Talk to Logan to get him to leave Firelink Shrine, Talk to Griggs, buy Fall Control, Catalyst and Bellowing Dragoncrest Ring, Bonfire, level Int, Attune Fall Control

Elevator to Undead Parish, Kill Gargoyles, Ring Bell, Homeward Bone, kick Lautrec off the ledge, quitout, pickup FAP Ring

Elevator to New Londo Ruins, Equip Catalyst and FAP Ring, Valley of Drakes, Blighttown (Fall Control Quitout or Blighttown Drop), Kill Quelaag, Ring Bell, take Daughters of Chaos Bonfire, Warp to Firelink Shrine

Jump down the hole, place the Lordvessel, warp to Anor Londo, Dukes Archives,

Duke Skip, take the Duke's Archives Bonfire, Kill the Mimic, pick up Enchanted Falchion and use it from now on instead of the Uchigatana, Kill Crystal Lizards in Crystal Cave, kill Seath (RTSR using Falls), Homeward Bone, buy Homing Crystal Soulmass from Logan, kill Logan, pick up Catalyst, Open chest and pick up Blue Titanite Chunk, Homeward Bone, upgrade Enchanted Falchion as much as possible, Warp to Undead Parish

Buy Crest of Artorias from Andre, Rest at Forest Bonfire, level 12 Attunement if you haven't already and Attune Homing Crystal Soulmass, pick up Stone Armor, Equip Bellowing Dragoncrest Ring over RTSR, kill Sif with Homing Crystal Soulmass and Falchion, Homeward Bone, Warp to Daughters of Chaos Bonfire

Dupe Fire Keeper's Soul to get 30 Humanity, Reinforce Estus Flask, Join Covenant, Offer 30 Humanity to unlock Chaos Shortcut

Demon Ruins, Kill Ceaseless Discharge, Homeward Bone, cast Fall Control, run to lower Demon Ruins, (Optional Kill Rockwurm, take Bonfire) Chaos Shortcut (Optional, kill Chaos Bug for Sunlight Maggot) and Kill Bed of Chaos using Tokhi Bombs, Homeward Bone, warp to Firelink Shrine, rest at bonfire, head to Catacombs

Push Lever, Quitout on animation, run out into the open, cast Fall Control, Fall Control Quitout to bottom, Kill Pinwheel with Homing Crystal Soulmass and Falchion, Tomb of Giants, (Optional take the second bonfire in Tomb of Giants), Kill Nito (Stone Armor, improvise), Homeward Bone, warp to Firelink Shrine, rest at Bonfire

Elevator to New Londo Ruins, EQUIP COVENANT OF ARTORIAS RING over FAP Ring!!! Cast Fall Control at bottom, Seal Skip, kill 4 Kings Homeward Bone

Jump down the hole, Offer Souls to Lordvessel, level Vitality to 16, Int to 50 if you haven't already. Re-Equip RTSR over Covenant of Artorias Ring, Get RTSR from the first Black Knight (one regular attack), kill Gwyn with Homing Crystal Soulmass and the Tin Crstalization Catalyst (Cast it, Parry, back up slightly, cast again and he should die, if not, cast it again!).
