[16:14] <Blast> Sophie, you just got off a small jet and are in-transit in the back of a white armoured car that looks like it has been requisitioned by Nerv rather than being made for them. You drive through a small town. The driver is smoking like a chimney, and keeps his windows closed. The windows in the back don't open.
[16:16] <Blast> You leave through the other side of the villiage and up the valley. You veer off the main road onto a rather smarter one, with new tarmac, and drive through a large door leading into the side of the hill. It's dark, and made darker still by the door closing behind the car. The driver turns the headlights on after a moment; they illuminate a group of several people. The car stops, and the driver comes around the side, and lets you out.
[16:17] <Blast> A plume of smoke follows you.
[16:19] * Sophie_Audette steps outside the car door, and stretches after the long car ride. after a few seconds she notices the pilots and her eyes fixate on them
[16:19] <Christina_Girardin> "Hello," she said, "Welcome to Nerv.." she looked at the dossier for Sophie, "I am Sister Christina Girardin.."
[16:20] * Morveren_Killigrew blinks, and a look of recognition spreads across her face "Sophie? You made it too!". Morveren grins, a reddish blonde mop of hair framing a slightly grubby face, with a tank top, shorts and sandals rounding it off. Probably not that different from years before...
[16:21] * Sophie_Audette completely ignores the nun. "..Oh its you!.. Merv.. Morveren!"
[16:21] * Sophie_Audette runs into the arms of Morveren
[16:22] * Morveren_Killigrew is somewhat surprised, but responds with a hug "Aint see ya in years Soph. What's up?"
[16:22] * Josephine_Fournier stares blankly at the two pilots' embrace
[16:23] * Mira_Severn tilts her head and fans the smoke away from her face. The brunette is already in her plug suit, watching Morveren's reaction. "The last pilot?" Her voice is quiet, contemplative, and undeniably sweet because I had nothing better to spend that last hundred XP on. "Good." She doesn't say -what- exactly is good, though.
[16:23] <Christina_Girardin> "Your friend?" she asked Morven, wondering why Sophie ingored her.
[16:23] * Seraphine-Francoise_de_Savigny watches the reunion of Morveren and unknown woman, tapping the floor with her heel, still looking irritated.
[16:24] * Sophie_Audette is also a white female of average height, her face covered in quite a few freckles and a mop of red hair and brown eyes. She looks a bit more athletic then most females of her age and seems to have quite.. underdevlouped breasts
[16:25] <Rajesh_Chandrasekhar> Raj sort of stands back, watching.  More girls.  What the hell, man?
[16:25] * Morveren_Killigrew nods to the inquiry "Kinda. We met up a few times around the plant, when we were kids. Didn't know you were in the pilot program too Soph"
[16:25] <Christina_Girardin> "Never seen friends before," she said turning to Serephine with a grin on her face, "Or are you not used to the way the common rabble greets each other, before turning to Rajesh. "You are the only man in this group, so you have to protect the girl's honor.."
[16:26] * Seraphine-Francoise_de_Savigny groans. "I don't need anyone to protect my honour."
[16:28] <Rajesh_Chandrasekhar> "Me?!  Listen, they're the ones getting me to take my pants off and scoping out my junk!"
[16:28] * Rajesh_Chandrasekhar says the first thing that comes to mind.
[16:28] * Josephine_Fournier blushes, but says nothing
[16:28] * Morveren_Killigrew cackles like a mad thing
[16:28] <Sophie_Audette> "Yeah I was always in it?.. you didnt know?" She looks around some more, and finds Josephine
[16:29] <Rajesh_Chandrasekhar> "Um, I mean.  Well..."
[16:29] * Morveren_Killigrew shrugs "Eh, its been years Soph. We were both just Nerv brats, one way or another"
[16:29] * Rajesh_Chandrasekhar suddenly goes red.
[16:29] <Seraphine-Francoise_de_Savigny> "Nobody was making you to do anything! Stop being such a denying coward and start do what you want, god damn you!"
[16:29] <Christina_Girardin> ".....in the name of the father and the son and the holy spirit.." she says, "Mother Mary please give me strength.."
[16:29] <Sophie_Audette> she wanders over to her, and returns her blank stare. "...Well arnt you a cute little thing" She grabs her cheeks.
[16:30] * Josephine_Fournier flinches, taking a quick step back. "W-what?"
[16:30] <Rajesh_Chandrasekhar> Raj sort of....composes himself.  "My dad's apparently important too, but I've never heard of any of this stuff before."
[16:31] * Mira_Severn returns to the group when it's clear they aren't ready to follow yet.
[16:32] * Morveren_Killigrew raises an eyebrow. That girl had grown up... interesting.
[16:34] * Mira_Severn coughs.
[16:35] * Sophie_Audette continues the cheek-grabbing and face examining. "Your Josephine right? I'm the one who gets to pilot with you until I get to sync with Morveren correctly! That was the plan at least. Oh this will be great~"
[16:35] * Morveren_Killigrew looks confused "Wait, what?"
[16:35] * Josephine_Fournier doesn't really know what to say. She raised a hand to keep Sophie's grasping appendages at bay, but hesitates for a moment and lets it fall back to her side helplessly
[16:35] * Seraphine-Francoise_de_Savigny giggles. "It's starting to be crowded here. At least I will be alone in my Eva, that's what is great!"
[16:36] <Christina_Girardin> "...Double Evangelion.." she said, wondering why the Japanese branch had sent her those odd.. DVDs. "Well, at the very least I won't have to use that instructional tapes... and Miss.. Auddette," she said, "I think you should respect Miss Fournier's personal space.
[16:36] * Josephine_Fournier glances at Christina with desperate hope
[16:36] <Mira_Severn> "Hey, feel free to ignore me, but maybe we should prepare? At least two of us have never used an Eva before, I think. We need as much of a head start as we can get."
[16:37] <Rajesh_Chandrasekhar> "Hah.  Don't worry, Sera.  I'll be around to bail you out when things get tough.  I -am- the man here, after all.", and...at this point, Raj produces some ridiculous looking aviators and puts them on.  Oh, fuck yes.
[16:37] <Sophie_Audette> "..B-but look at her, shes all cute and stuff... Oh fine". She withdraws her grabbing arms
[16:38] <Christina_Girardin> "The Evas," she said, "Are user friendly, now please.." she said, "We will be heading to the Eva Simulation room to run a quick simulation of Evangelion combat..
[16:38] * Christina_Girardin then turned to Rajesh, "You remind me of the Prime Minister.."
[16:38] * Josephine_Fournier raises a hand to rub her cheek
[16:38] * Morveren_Killigrew walks over and pats Sophie in the shoulder "Be gentle with Jose, Soph. She's a little soft"
[16:40] <Christina_Girardin> "Are you allright Miss Forunier," she asked Josephine, knowing that this girl had the autism, at least according to the guide. Autistic children were to "be treated with great care, as they could not handle social situations without training.."
[16:40] * Seraphine-Francoise_de_Savigny turns to Rajesh. "So much words, but I know that there's nothing behind them. I can't wait to show you how wrong you are, you arrogant little boy."
[16:40] <Sophie_Audette> "Ok ok, im sorry.
[16:40] <Josephine_Fournier> "I'm fine." She responds as she very quickly assumes a place behind Christina, as fast as she can without running
[16:40] <Sophie_Audette> She pats Josephine on the shoulder. "No hard feelings right?"
[16:41] * Christina_Girardin felt motherly, defending Josephine, "Its ok, but next time, Miss Audette, please respect the personal space of others.."
[16:41] <Rajesh_Chandrasekhar> "Whatever, princess.  I'll be here to rescue you when you get in too deep.", it's like he's shifted into arrogant prick mode again.
[16:41] <Josephine_Fournier> "Right. No hard feelings." She replies, though she flinches slightly at the shoulder pat
[16:41] * Morveren_Killigrew chuckles "You were always a little too quick Soph". She glances at Rajesh and Sera "Oy, you too, bliddy stop it, okay?"
[16:42] <Seraphine-Francoise_de_Savigny> "Too deep~" - Seraphine giggles. - "Will you please hold your raging hormones at bay and stop making innuendoes?"
[16:42] * Mira_Severn sits in the corner of the garage, chatting with the driver.
[16:43] <Christina_Girardin> "Mira," she says, "Come with us, we are heading to the Eva Simulation Bodies.."
[16:43] <Blast> The driver has a very thick French accent and hasn't stopped smoking.
[16:43] <Blast> "Oh, you have to go? Well, I hope yo see you soon, little girl!"
[16:43] <Blast> He smiles in the most creepy way possible.
[16:44] <Rajesh_Chandrasekhar> Raj shakes his head, and goes to follow to the simulators.
[16:44] * Mira_Severn waves to the driver. "It was nice to meet you, mister Pierre. Maybe don't act so much like a pedophile when your job is to drive around fourteen year-olds." She's back with the group almost immediately.
[16:45] * Christina_Girardin then notes to have mob lynch driver in her trusty blackberry, before turning to Mira. "High five." she said to the girl, offering her hand
[16:46] <Blast> He stares. He throws his cigarette to the floor and leaves very quickly. The door doesn't quite open in time and he smashes into it with the top of his armoured car on the way out, leaving a huge dent in it.
[16:46] * Morveren_Killigrew sighs, grabbing Sophie by the arm to make her follow "Its this way Soph. So, tell me, what've you been doing over the years?"
[16:47] <Christina_Girardin> "The budget!" she said, "The Budget!" she felt the loss from the Budget, and the fact that she would only be wearing a habit this year.
[16:47] * Mira_Severn slaps the Captain's hand, then falls in line with the other pilots. "How sad is it that I still prefer his company to you guys when you lot get like that, eh?"
[16:48] <Christina_Girardin> "I will wipe the heresy from them yet, Mira," she said, "I'll make you my chief in purging heresy one day.."
[16:49] <Mira_Severn> "That sounds like a bad idea."
[16:50] * Morveren_Killigrew natters with Sophie about small matters as they go
[16:50] <Blast> In a second, you hear a clunking noise, followed by the entirety of what you can see becoming illuminated red. A moment later, you hear a piercing and incessant alarm wail around the base.
[16:50] <Mira_Severn> "...Oh shit."
[16:50] * Morveren_Killigrew looks about her "uhoh..."
[16:51] <Sophie_Audette> "..That cant be good"
[16:51] <Christina_Girardin> "Ok, everyone follow me.This is not a drill," she said, "Code 105, Angel Attack. I'll take you down to the Eva Prepartion rooms.
[16:51] <Mira_Severn> "See, this is why you read the manual!" She grabs the girls not suited up and dashes to the locker room HOLY SHIT PERSONAL SPACE. "Angels! I got it, Christina! We'll meet you there!"
[16:51] <Blast> Doorways and passages close off, apart from one. A yellow trail of pulsing LEDs on the floor appears to be directing you onward.
[16:51] * Josephine_Fournier winces visibly
[16:52] * Josephine_Fournier follows the trail at a run
[16:52] <Christina_Girardin> "Thanks," she said to Mira, "Everyone, prepare!" she says, following the path, and eventually breaking off to go to the command room
[16:52] * Seraphine-Francoise_de_Savigny runs as fast as she can, grinning all the way
[16:53] * Sophie_Audette grabs Morveren by the hand and runs to the locker room
[16:53] * Rajesh_Chandrasekhar freezes. "Oh, shit.", oh shit oh shit oh shit. Raj follows the others, since he knows where to change, at least. He'll get into his plugsuit. Aviators remain.
[16:53] * Morveren_Killigrew runs at her full quite slow speed, glad to have an old friend right now. For all her bravado... she was nervous
[16:53] * Mira_Severn looks back towards Sophie. "It's my first day too, so you won't be the only one to probably die!" She nearly throws them into the locker room, dashing in to grab her headset, then back out. "Hurryhurryhurryhurry!"
[16:53] <Blast> You're quickly at the bridge. The room is dominated by a massive circular holographic globe. There's several blue spots around it, one of which is clearly your location; there's a very obvious red spot on northern italy.
[16:54] <Blast> The globe is approximately 20 feet tall, and projected by a huge array of devices beneath it.
[16:54] * Morveren_Killigrew can't help but be impressed by the tech, despite the somewhat urgent situation "...Nice"
[16:54] <Blast> There's computer terminals everywhere, mostly manned; nobody seems to have picked up on your entrance though.
[16:55] * Sophie_Audette replies to mira. "Good to know I wont be alone"
[16:56] <Blast> There's an illuminated double doorway on the other side of the room. The LEDs on the floor beckon.
[16:56] * Josephine_Fournier turns to the other pilots. "We can do this. Don't be afraid."
[16:56] <Mira_Severn> "Oh, you will be. We're not sharing an Eva. Just if I screw up, you'll look really good by comparison." She takes her designated seat and waits for the briefing to begin. "Well said."
[16:56] <Josephine_Fournier> "This is what we were born for
[16:56] * Josephine_Fournier races forward again
[16:57] <Christina_Girardin> "Command," she said, "Give me a full status report. Get the MAGI online, I need everything. Is the EU already engaging the Angel, or have they learned from the last attacks.."
[16:58] <Seraphine-Francoise_de_Savigny> "Of course we can do it!" - Seraphine follows the trail of LEDs, full of thrill and excitement.
[16:58] <Blast> There's a changing room through the other side of the doorway. There's a large locker for each pilot, plus several unused.
[16:58] <Mira_Severn> "Oh, you will be. We're not sharing an Eva. Just if I screw up, you'll look really good by comparison." She leads the girls back to the group, adjusting the headset. "Well said, Josephine. Now let's kick some ass!"
[16:58] * Morveren_Killigrew runs to the locker room, glad for her fathers care. She pulls on the large, bulky and gaudy suit of golden armour, flipping down the monovisors silver screen and analysing the data as it comes through. It actually felt kinda good...
[16:58] * Josephine_Fournier Immediately arrives at her locker, assembling her plug suit with practiced speed
[16:59] <Rajesh_Chandrasekhar> Raj srses up, changes, apparently, since he doesn't move faster than the others, and gets his plugsuit on with little difficulty since he's done this once already.
[16:59] <Blast> The globe vanishes. You see a two-dimensional projection of what appwars to be the undercarriage of a plane; two more are visible just at the edge of its fisheye shot. You can see, over the mountain, a huge reddish orb; the camera is insufficient quality. You hear a voice, sounding urgent.
[17:00] * Josephine_Fournier is a little uncomfortable in the blood red and white of her Eva, but forces the unpleasant sensation down, resulting only in a mild tightness at the back of her throat
[17:00] * Seraphine-Francoise_de_Savigny undresses very quickly. Putting on the plugsuit takes a little more time for her, but she is used to wearing different exotic clothes, so it's not a big problem.
[17:00] <Blast> "Aircraft have been scrambled. Are you recieving the footage, ma'am?"
[17:00] * Mira_Severn is already in the black and teal suit, and is waiting outside the hallway for the others.
[17:01] * Morveren_Killigrew clanks out in a large and heavy suit, golden armoured plates covering her limbs and chest, and a helmet of gold, with three strange points and a silver screen over one eye. She grins "Lets do this!", and makes her way towards the Evas
[17:02] <Blast> The hallway outside leads to the cages. There's four entry plugs lying in huge mechanical arms, ready to be inserted; one is black, with only one hatch, the other three have multiple hatches.
[17:02] <Rajesh_Chandrasekhar> Raj is in black and yellow.  He looks like a fucking wasp.  It's kinda ridiculous with the shades.  Raj hops into 00's plug.
[17:02] * Josephine_Fournier leaps into her plug, not bothering to see if Sophie is behind her
[17:02] * Morveren_Killigrew grins, and hops into her Eva's black heart. It was good that she'd be alone. Well... Alone except for 04
[17:02] * Sophie_Audette steps into her armoured plugsuit which seems to be coloured a weird shade of green with grey armour plates. She hops into Josephines plug
[17:03] * Mira_Severn stops and looks at the entry plugs, trying to figure out if they seat two or...how exactly this works.
[17:03] * Josephine_Fournier Josephine allows herself the luxury of a deep sigh, closing her eyes
[17:03] <Christina_Girardin> "Thank you," she said, "If this battle is like they said it would be.. we should have most of the Evangelions go at point blank range.. and attempt to "Inverse" the fields..
[17:03] <Rajesh_Chandrasekhar> "Great, I'm not ready for this...oh god."
[17:04] * Seraphine-Francoise_de_Savigny looks at fellow pilots. "You all look fine! Especially you, Morveren!" - She staggers a bit, allowing Rajesh to walk in front of her, and giggles loudly. Then she enters the plug of her purple-and-red Eva.
[17:04] <Blast> Each apart from 04's plug have one seat above the other. They both have depth controls. 04's plug is inserted first, and then the others are once the pilots are inside.
[17:04] * Mira_Severn nibbles her finger and approaches Raj's plug. "We'll do fine. We have to." She tries hard to smile genuinely, and almost halfway passes! "I'll ride with you, would that help?"
[17:05] <Rajesh_Chandrasekhar> "Let's do this, then.  It's not like I'm afraid or anything...I just wish I had more training.", Raj decides the shades are only harming him, and lets them drop into his lap.
[17:06] <Mira_Severn> "You need to relax. If you're tense or worried, the Eva won't work." Before climbing in, she picks up the shades and sticks them on a shelf near the plug. "You'll get them back when we're done, you'll be fine. Me, maybe not so much." In she goes! "Also, I hope you did the breathing exercises, because I hate potato chip vomit." ...A joke?
[17:06] <Blast> The footage continues. Bombs are dropped on the orb. They descend for a minute, as expected, and detonate. The Angel appears unaffected.
[17:06] * Morveren_Killigrew starts to quickly engage with her Eva, linking data uplinks to the strange points of her helmet, checking her custom systems and, strangely enough, pulling out a bible from beneath her seat, and reading a few passages.
[17:07] * Josephine_Fournier speaks to Sophie behind her, not turning to look. "The plug is about to be flooded with LCL. Don't be afraid or hold your breath. Wait for the fluid to fill the plug, then take a deep breath. It will hurt at first, but it passes fast."
[17:08] <Blast> A moment later though, there is a blink from the Angel, a flash of light; one of the planes flying closely violently explodes, and sends shrapnel into the one where the footage is coming from; it shudders in flight, desperately trying to retain altitude, and then begins to fall at increasing speed. The footage is cut.
[17:08] * Seraphine-Francoise_de_Savigny just lays in her seat, clenching and opening her right fist.
[17:09] <Rajesh_Chandrasekhar> "Breathing exercises?!"
[17:09] <Sophie_Audette> "..yeah I've done the testing before. Just never had to be in an actual fight
[17:09] <Blast> The ceiling above the cages opens, letting in the midday sun; the platform on which the Evas are placed begins to ascend.
[17:09] * Josephine_Fournier gasps at the familiar feeling of synching with 01, cold and wriggling, but it soon passes, easier than in the past. It must be feeling cooperative today
[17:10] <Christina_Girardin> "Next time we need to get UAVs.." she said, "Pilots shouldn't die for this.." before then looking, "Who has lauched first.."
[17:10] <Mira_Severn> "I was afraid of that. Okay, yeah, we breathe liquid in these things, apparently. You're gonna wanna puke, and might not be able to help it."
[17:10] * Morveren_Killigrew grins as her plug floods, and the liquid feeling of the LCL... It calms her, and makes it all feel okay. She checks the custom systems, the power of the new arms, and blinks a few times to get used to the dual perspective, as the screen and visor give her different data. Weapons set... All green.
[17:10] <Rajesh_Chandrasekhar> "Wait, why, what's happening?", when the plug fills with LCL, "WHAAARGAAARBL."
[17:11] <Blast> The screen flips to UAV footage. The drone orbits the orb, which is progressing slowly across the mountainside.
[17:11] <Mira_Severn> "Because they said so!" She holds her breath as instructed in the manual, WHICH SHE FUCKING READ, and releases when the LCL is over her eyes. A yucky gagging noise, and she begins to sync with Unit 00.
[17:12] <Seraphine-Francoise_de_Savigny> "I wonder, if I can swim in here... Hey, wait, wait, wa~" - Seraphine gulps. - "Oh bloody Christ in hell. Maybe I should read that manual."
[17:12] <Christina_Girardin> "Jesus lord of creation.. why don't people read the manuals.."
[17:12] * Morveren_Killigrew cackles "Suck it up, ya quiverin cheel! This is the best!"
[17:13] <Rajesh_Chandrasekhar> "This....*gack*...sucks....*wheeze*", quiet....."Okay....better.  Let's do this."
[17:13] * Josephine_Fournier opens a channel to the other pilots. "Just breath, one quick gulp. It feels fine once you're used to it."
[17:14] * Mira_Severn opens her eyes and grins. "Like they said." She lies back and waits for Raj to sync. "You may take lead. It's your Eva, after all. I'll provide backup. You'll do fine, Raj. I believe in you."
[17:14] <Seraphine-Francoise_de_Savigny> "Yeah, I see... sometimes it's really better to swallow..."
[17:14] * Morveren_Killigrew cackles
[17:14] <Blast> The platform stops its ascent abruptly. Another robotic arm moves behind each Eva, and attaches itself to their backs. Unit 04 is raised above the other three.
[17:14] * Morveren_Killigrew grins "Ahoy mateys! I'll be first then!"
[17:15] <Seraphine-Francoise_de_Savigny> "But whyyyyyyy youuuuuu?!"
[17:15] <Christina_Girardin> "These are the Arm Weapons," she says over the coms, "They will let you switch weapons mid battle, so think about what you use before I send new parts over.."
[17:15] <Blast> A huge jet plane with two sets of massive wings arrives behind 04. Its jet turbines swivel, and slow it down. The robot arm inserts 04 on its back into the plane.
[17:16] * Morveren_Killigrew grins, checking certain systems. "All green... 04 ready to set sail!"
[17:16] * Sophie_Audette lies back and syncs with the eva along with Joseph
[17:16] <Seraphine-Francoise_de_Savigny> "Give me my sword already! I want to feel it in my arm!"
[17:16] <Rajesh_Chandrasekhar> "Okay, Mira...right?  How do we do this?  One of us pilots, and the other is the gunner?  This thing -does- have four eyes..."
[17:17] <Blast> It ascends, and the process is repeated for each Evangelion, the entire process taking a minute at most. Once all the Evas are loaded, the planes turn, still hovering, and all speed in the same direction.
[17:17] <Mira_Severn> "Mira, yes." She shakes her head. "We're both in sync with the Eva, it's like sharing a body. Watch." After a moment's concentration, Unit 00's fingers clench and unclench. "You felt that a little, right? Just do that. You take priority over me." Her smile starts to turn into a wicked grin. "I'll follow your lead to the ends of the earth."
[17:18] <Blast> On each of your HUDs, and on the OD's display too, there is a timer; 23 minutes and a quickly descending number of seconds.
[17:19] * Morveren_Killigrew starts singing a pirate shanty on the open comms, speaking of loot and treasure and adventure. She's an awful singer.
[17:19] <Blast> The globe shows up again. A green light tracks the pilot's progress toward the Angel.
[17:20] <Christina_Girardin> "...Valkyries.. fly!" she says, the timer on the display.
[17:21] * Sophie_Audette laughs. "Good to see you happy, Morv"
[17:22] <Rajesh_Chandrasekhar> "Let's...make sure to communicate, so we don't do something stupid like walk backwards.", Raj needs someone talking calmly anyways, or else he's gonna freak out.
[17:22] * Morveren_Killigrew cackles "I'm feeling confident Soph!"
[17:23] <Blast> The planes circle the Angel once they are nearby. The orb has reached a low point in the mountains. There is a large plain, with hills on each side, but plenty of room to maneuver an Evangelion.
[17:23] <Mira_Severn> "It doesn't work like that. We can't contradict ourselves. Just relax and enjoy the carnage!" ...Okay, what.
[17:23] <Rajesh_Chandrasekhar> "I...uhh...."
[17:24] <Christina_Girardin> "What a strange thing.."
[17:24] <Seraphine-Francoise_de_Savigny> "YES!" - Seraphine yells. - "Enjoy the carnage! Break the enemy, bring him down! Strike him with a sword, defeat him! For glory and honour!"
[17:25] * Morveren_Killigrew cackles "You said it sera!"
[17:27] <Seraphine-Francoise_de_Savigny> "I feel so good! So excited! Being here fills me with strenght I haven't ever felt! It's almost better than..." - she just makes a squeal of excitement instead of ending her sentence.
[17:27] <Christina_Girardin> "Josephine will be further back, so she can use her AT Field to support you. Everyone else, your goal is to close in, and "Neutralize" the "AT Field," and I'll wait for the MAGI to give me more data.."
[17:27] <Morveren_Killigrew> "Gotcha boss"
[17:27] * Mira_Severn cackles maniacally! "Keep killing until everything that would stand between us and tomorrow is a festering pile! Keep punching until you break through to heaven! Josephine's Eva is placed a way behind them. The Angel progresses. At this range, you can see it for what it really is; a pulsating, glowing mass of flesh hovering above the ground.

[17:49] * Morveren_Killigrew taps a few keys, and the air around her Eva shimmers, flowing like liquid as an orange field flows over the black and gold carapace of 04. "Dragon of the sea... I know your name... Fight for me".

[17:55] <Blast> The Angel stops moving a moment after being shot. From its flesh comes a smaller orb, reddish orange, and looking like glass. It darts over the surface of the mass of flesh, and directs itself so it is 'pointing' at Unit 00. It flashes.
[17:57] <Rajesh_Chandrasekhar> Raj lets out a VERY cowardly yelp, while the eva is frozen in place through sheer terror.  The eva is surrounded with explosions.  Strangely, when the smoke and light clears?  It's....fine?

[18:03] <Blast> "The UAV feed was lost a moment ago, ma'am!"

[18:09] * Morveren_Killigrew turns on a heel, and starts sprinting towards the Angel, sword and dagger in the large, heavy arms held back as she makes her way. The orange liquid glow flows around her, and then gushes towards the angel like an ocean wave. "Neutralise, on! The ocean breaks all walls!"
[18:09] <Blast> The Angel's core blinks again. The ground in front of Unit 01 erupts.

[18:25] <Sophie_Audette> Unit 01 takes the blow to the head, and collapses onto the ground, its head blackened from the explosion but still intact
[18:26] * Josephine_Fournier screams as the blast collides with Unit 01's skull, soon she can't even do that, unable to make a move or a sound due to the overwhelming sensation that her skull just popped

[18:39] <Blast> It focuses on its attacker, and fires a bolt with a flash, silently.

[18:55] <Mira_Severn> "Can't even..." The words echo through Mira's mind, and her invincible feeling more or less fades entirely. "No. I..."
[18:55] <Blast> The missiles bombard the sphere. Blood sprays from an artery near its top for a few moments.
[18:58] * Josephine_Fournier her head cleared of that ringing sound, and the red fading from her eyes, Josephine suddenly can feel the Eva like she never had before, and further...utilize it in a way she never has
[18:59] * Josephine_Fournier focuses her pain into a cone in front of her...and accomplishes nothing when the angel vanishes from view before the energy wave could hit.
[19:03] <Blast> The Angel reappears 10dm away from Unit 01, behind it. Its core sets itself, and fires at the Eva.
[19:05] * Josephine_Fournier gives a muffled "Oomph."
[19:06] <Mira_Severn> "Can't do anything." Mira hugs herself and curls up in the back seat, staring out at Unit 01. "We're all dying. Can't..."
[19:07] <Rajesh_Chandrasekhar> "Keep calm, Mira.  There it is.  Line up your sights, keep firing down range....", Raj is close to shitting himself here, but can't freak out.  "We hit it before."

[19:09] * Sophie_Audette flips around and quickly lets off a potshot at the angel

Seraphine's right hand is clutched into a tight fist, and she mutters the first sensible sentence after her freak out: "I hate you! I fucking hate you and I will fucking kill you!"

[19:14] <Blast> The Angel retaliates by aiming and firing at Rajesh. The air detonates above his shoulder.

[19:18] * Mira_Severn laughs weakly and starts firing when Raj stops, less rapidly but still shooting so...shooty!
[19:24] * Morveren_Killigrew roars as she leaps for the angel again, bringing her sword down as it scrapes ineffectually across the Angels surface. "Come on Seraphine! You're missing the party!"
[19:25] * Mira_Severn screams as the bullets ricochet harmlessly off the surface, going right back to her much-more-violent breakdown, screaming and grabbing at her head. "NO NO NO NO NO!"

[19:41] * Sophie_Audette fires another shot at the angel, but it blinks away just before it gets hit. "Dammit!"

[19:42] <Seraphine-Francoise_de_Savigny> Seraphine's purple-and-red Evangelion slowly rises from its fetal position. It stands one one knee, and then grabs the hilt of ornated sword. Then it straightens up, standing now in a some kind of battle stance, looking right at the Angel...
[19:43] * Morveren_Killigrew sees Sera rise, and grins "Fashionably late, y'daft french tart?"
[19:43] <Blast> The Angel has moved directly behind 01, again.
[19:44] * Seraphine-Francoise_de_Savigny growls through the intercom, in a horribly distorted voice. "There! Behind the 01!"
[19:47] <Blast> It lets loose another blast, which detonates inside the leg of Unit 01.

[19:48] * Josephine_Fournier gives another, choked scream as the Eva is propelled by the force of the explosion, landing painfully in the dirt

[19:51] * Mira_Severn screams as the Eva's leg explodes, drops her rifle, and runs toward the Angel. "RAJ! KNIFE OUT! I'M SICK OF THIS FUCKING THING AND I WANT IT TO DIIIIIIIE!"

[19:53] <Rajesh_Chandrasekhar> "SON OF A-MIRA, WAIT!", Raj is caught off guard, but manages to both pull the knife out, and finish Mira's approach with a hammerblow, though he's terrified.

[19:59] * Morveren_Killigrew swears as she moves towards the angel again, tapping at keys and pulling levers from behind panels in the plug. On the Eva's chest, damaged armour plating moves away, with redundant plates shifting into place as it compensates for some of the damage.
[20:01] <Christina_Girardin> Markerlights, Focus on the core, transmit data via all frequencies..
[20:09] * Josephine_Fournier makes the eva unsteadily rise to its feet, an unpleasant orange fluid beginning to seep between the interfaces between the armored plates. Noiselessly, she charges forward, slamming the butt of the battle rifle into the angelic mass, only to be rewarded with a jolt to the arm as the attack is deflected by the angel's armor
[20:11] * Seraphine-Francoise_de_Savigny charges at the Angel, shouting "I will kill you! Kill you!" and wings her sword somewhere into the direction of its core, missing it entirely.
[20:12] * Rajesh_Chandrasekhar makes a feeble stab at it with the knife!

[20:13] <Blast> The Angel fires shots wildly and without target, outnumbered.

[20:18] <Blast> Blood sprays everywhere from the wound. The pressure is incredible, but the beast stays silent, its core whizzing around its surface in panic.

[20:27] * Josephine_Fournier panting, she drops the battle rifle to the ground, and drawing her progressive knife, takes a wild swing. Josephine manages to slash the body, rewarding herself with a spurt of blood, but little else
[20:29] <Blast> It continues blasting randomly. Morveren's Eva is caught on the leg.

[20:32] * Seraphine-Francoise_de_Savigny swings her sword, and finally - finally! - strikes the core with the very edge of her blade. "Got you!"
[20:40] <Blast> The core halts. It stays on the edge of Seraphine's blade for a moment, then flashes white, infinitely brighter than before, and the Angel detonates.

[20:41] * Morveren_Killigrew weathers the storm, armour glowing white hot from the heat and intensity, but holding. Inside the Eva, Morveren watches the white heat blaze across her without harm, and cackles madly.
[20:42] <Blast> The feed is lost to the UAV and Eva cameras.
[20:42] <Seraphine-Francoise_de_Savigny> Seraphine's Evangelion is engulfed in a flash. But when flash wears out, only the upper layers of her armour are charred.
[20:44] <Blast> A moment after the explosion, the power in your Evas flickers and dies. It's quiet.
[20:44] * Sophie_Audette just sits in the entry plug as the fire washes over Josephine and her evangelion.
[20:45] <Christina_Girardin> "...Damnit! Markers! Status!" The planes could handle nuclear explosions... but they would be damaged. That was budget.. more budget loss..

[20:46] <Blast> Backup power comes online. All external feeds are gone, but Christina can see the pilots in their Evas.
[20:46] * Morveren_Killigrew enjoys the watery feel of the LCL, happy in what she assumed was a victory. If it wasn't... well. She breaks open her emergency grog locker, so she can have a quick drink as soon as she's out of the LCL.
[20:46] * Morveren_Killigrew grins at the camera. "So boss, how'd we do?"
[20:46] * Mira_Severn is barely holding onto the trigger grips, nearly asleep in her seat, kept awake and not-dead from pretty much pure adrenaline.

[21:09] <Blast> Helicopter travel will take far too long. A VTOL wing is on its way to pick up the kids already though.
[21:10] * Josephine_Fournier gives a bitter laugh at that, then closes her eyes again

[21:11] * Morveren_Killigrew grins at Sophie "Same old Sophie. You were always a ballsy one. It was tight for a moment there, I reckon. Bastard wouldn't stay still"
[21:11] <Seraphine-Francoise_de_Savigny> "Yes. Totally. I think we all did well and we killed that thing." - Seraphine drinks again. - "Oh, how good."
[21:12] * Morveren_Killigrew grins, and drains her bottle "Drink up girls, there's plenty to get through before we have company"

[21:13] * Morveren_Killigrew smiles, keeping an arm on Sera's shoulder "Well, y'got us. It'll do, right?"
[21:13] <Blast> You can hear aircraft coming. They're just coming over the hill. It'll be a few minutes until they land.
[21:13] * Morveren_Killigrew sighs, picking up her booze bag. "I'll hide this in my Eva. Back in a tick". She dashes off to do so.
