  2.
  3. Since I'm not really sure what to put in here, I'll just throw in random stuff until it seems complete.

  11. First, no there is no translation, but the game is works fairly well is translators, particularly translation aggregator
  12. If you can't get anything to work properly, try using this version with ATLAS:

  15. The japanese wikis.
  16.
  17. http://www35.atwiki.jp/sqmod/ is mainly for the stuff that has been added by modders. It's pretty out of date, though, so don't get your hopes up too much.
  18.
  19. https://www16.atwiki.jp/squestwiki/pages/1.html is for the official content. It covers pretty much everything that modders didn't add, and has SQ1 content as well, if you care about that.
  20.
  21. Stories
  22. First, the most important thing to know is how to activate stories, the quests of the game. As you should know, the bookcase allows one map item, and the rest of the space in enemy and supplement items. By having a certain combination of map and item, you'll activate a story. You can tell this because in the top, where it says "Story" will change from saying "Story: Nothing" to "Story: Name of story". The easiest way to find all the stories is just check the wikis, but many of the stories are pretty easy to find, like mermaid enemy + ocean map. Generally, the difficulty of the story will match that of the enemies required to activate it, with the bosses being a bit tougher. Some stories are required to advance the overall plot, but most aren't.
  23.
  24. Getting new books.
  25. New maps and enemy books are pretty easy to get. First, you'll (always, as far as I can tell) receive new books the first time you complete a map, regardless of what enemies you put inside it. However, I think the boss at the end of generic maps is set, so even if you put in a bunch of low-level enemies, the boss could still be fairly strong. Completing stories also gives various rewards, including new books. Each map has an enemy unique to it randomly wandering around, which you can tell since they use a different sprite. Beating them will get you their enemy book. Be forewarned; these enemies tend to be quite difficult.
  26.
  27. Helpful stuff
  28. The dragon stone equip is very, very useful, as it grants level-up bonuses to all your stats. You get it from stealing from the caves unique enemy, the green lizard enemy. How to steal? The harpy trio, once you recruit them through their story, can do it with their "combination" ability. They won't steal every time, though, and even when they do you won't always get a dragon stone. Do note that a dragon stone can be stolen by Stella (and other enemies, or so I've heard), and cursed by black cats.
  29.
  30. Speaking of Black Cats, you'll notice that you will sometimes randomly run into them. Black Cats are awful enemies that exist only to ruin your day, and can steal from you, curse your equipment, de-level you, and generally are something that should be avoided. There is, as far as I know, no benefits to beating them, so you should run away as soon as you meet them, with an escape item or teleport wish if you have them available.
  31.
  32. Much sure to use your partners in combat against strong foes. The game loves to throw piles of bullshit at you, particularly the modded in content, so you'll need to use everything you have if you want to win.
