  1. Introduction:
  2.
  3. The Pokemon Showdown! Community Create-A-Team is a collaborative goal to spark discussion and help people participate in events while making strong product. The idea is that the people who are joining will all collaboratively build a team for a specific tier (for now, LC, the next one will be Ubers fyi) to innovate and enjoy the idea of the tier.
  4.
  5. Process and Rules for the Pokemon Showdown! Community Create-A-Team.
  6.
  7.
  8. Process:
  9.
  10. Step 1: We are going to start by picking which Pokemon (and set) we are going to be basing the team around. This does NOT mean the Pokemon has to be the late game sweeper, it means the team will be built around that Pokemon, whatever role it plays.
  11.
  12. SubStep 1: Nominations. There will be a 10 minute (or less) nominating period where people will send the host the Pokemon and set that you would like to be the focal point of the team (please give an explanation on it and why it should be on the team as well). Send it via a pm of a pastebin showing the Pokemon Showdown! importable and an explanation.
  13.
  14. Rules Here: Please have a decent amount of knowledge on thee Pokemon you will nominate. You are not required to nominate Pokemon for the team. You may also submit a core of 2 (maybe 3) pokemon as the initial submission.
  15.
  16. SubStep 2: After all nominations are sent, the host will show off all the nominations that were sent in. Now, it is the job of the people that sent the submissions to sell to me and everyone else why it should be a component of our team. This will be a ~10 minute discussion period so people can get an idea on what they would vote for. I encourage as much people as possible to participate in the discussion. You are also allowed to make slight adjustments to your submissions (ex. EVs, slight move changes) during this period
  17.
  18. Rules Here: Don't spam when you are trying to sell the pokemon to other people. Also, don't neglect counter-arguments people may have against your mons and keep saying the same point. A discussion is not a healthy discussion if you don't pay attention to both sides.
  19.
  20. SubStep 3: Voting. After enough discussion has happened, the participants of the Create-A-Team will PM their votes on who's submission to put into the team. All you do is send me a PM saying the user who made the submission. You may not vote for yourself. Also, if you really can't decide, you have thoption to abstain in 1 of the decisions.
  21.
  22. Step 2: Teammates decision. All of these steps will follow the 3 substeps shown above and will be done in a similar way. What will be submitted here are 1 - 2 teammates to add to the team to support the focal point of the team. This cycle of teammates will be repeated until we have a full team of 6.
  23.
  24. Step 3: Team rating. There will be a quick look back at the team looking at major threats in order to iron out the flaws. No time will be strictly enforced here as it depends how much changes we need to make.
  25.
  26. Step 4: Laddering! I encourage you to test the team. If you have any thought on it, you can send them to me (+superwii64cube) for the sake of feedback. Also, it can also be considered a semi-contest to see how high you can get on the ladder with the team. In this feedback, you may recommend team adjustments. When testing the team, you can also try slightly altered variants to see if that variant may be more efficient than the other.
  27.
  28.
  29. Rules and things to note:
  30.
  31. The goal of this is to cultivate more discussion and collaborative activity in the Showdown community while being rather innovative.
  32.
  33. "rcvd" means I have recieved your message, be patient when you PM the host submissions/votes, there might be a lot of people
  34.
  35. You can join in at any time of the session, you will not be discounted or discredited for when you come and when you leave.
  36.
  37. Everyone has equal rights to the team, just a guideline.
  38.
  39. Please let there be no spam on the channel. Just don't
  40.
  41. Depending on the success of the team, an RMT may be written or some kind of analysis of the focal point we made it on.
