Referly Will Discontinue Cash Rewards March 31, 2013

If you currently have rewards in your account, even if you did not reach the $10 minimum, you can claim them here.

You will continue to accrue rewards on existing product links through March 31st, and effective immediately all new links to products will not be eligible to earn rewards. Your rewards will remain in your account until you claim them, their is no deadline for cashing out.

Why We're Doing This & What's Next

Referly was created to help anyone earn money for driving product purchases. While some earned money, the overall feedback we have received is that money isn't the motivation for writing great articles.

Contributors are excited about getting paid, but the majority prefer a pay-per-post model rather than pay-per-purchase commissions.

Based on this feedback, we created a paid freelancer program which some of you have been piloting. Based on the success of this program, we've decided to discontinue paying affiliate commissions to focus on creating a community-contributed magazine of free and paid content.

Expanding the Paid Freelance Contributor Program

In the coming months we will focus on expanding our freelancer program, and continue in our mission to create a sustainable model where digital journalists, columnists, essay, feature and even fiction writers can get paid for producing great content alongside product curators, reviewers, and experts.
