- Higanbana no Saku Yori Ni Review
- --------------------------------
- Basically, this is classiq Ryukishi. It's got all the highlights: poorly drawn arms, cruel twists, magic fights, and a liiittle bit of preaching at you. In this VN, the preaching is about NO BULLY.
- + Yokai powers are cool and fitting
- + The setting isn't too grimdark or too light, there's plenty of silly moments and really serious moments. It's Ryukishi's VN, after all.
- + An amazing OST
- + Despite all being set in a school, more or less, the locations and set pieces are suprisingly varied
- - As a whole, it's pretty short. There is a part 2 which'll probably bring things to a more satisfying conclusion.
- - Dialogue's a bit awkward at parts. It's Ryukishi's VN, after all.
- - There's no overarching story, it's a bunch of tales set in a universe.
- - You don't get to meet all 7 of the school's mysteries! (I'm sure you'll meet the rest in "Night Two")
- Overall Verdict
- ---------------
- A short and enjoyable ride. I've listened to the OST for the past 2 days because it's awesome. Definitely worth a read if you like other stuff from Ryukishi (Umineko, Higurashi, Lucia's route in Rewrite).
